  • A couple of things. Marvels Mystery Oil is great for many things, but isn't the best cutting oil. Common shortening would work better. It liquefies from the heat and flows towards it. Put a mess over the hole and slightly around it and you won't need to spray or apply for a while. Second, step drills suck in stainless. You had a whole drill bit box, use them instead. Just don't push that hard on the smaller bits, you got lucky. Also, the step bit was relatively loose in the chuck.
