Ewing was and is one of the greatest centers of all time but he didn't have a supporting cast present during his prime. John Starks was the most athletic player he had for a while. The knicks had size. And great defense, but raw athleticism was missing.

Starks may not be the most talented/physically gifted 2 guard during his era but he made up for it with his intensity, heart and mental toughness. he didnt take no crap from jordan even though he got owned a lotta times, he didnt let it bother his play.he may have cost them a trophy but when he went back to msg during the lockout season when the knicks made it back to the finals, he was given a standing ovation. just shows fans appreciated what he brought to the table.
