is there a way do do this without phpmyadmin? Like in nothing but code like the real "I get paid to do this with about $500,000 a year" kind of web developer? Like the real Microsoft corporation who built their own website with nothing but code? I need to learn to do it that way. Because I my mother wont let me install phpmyadmin. And I need to get experience in nothing but code because I am going to be a game designer and I need that experience.

@mcgyvr2009i Well, you can use CLI for MySQL but its hell of alot quicker to use phpMyAdmin. I guess microsoft uses some kind of database management tool, which is all phpMyAdmin is. You can create your own databases but why bother, using MySQL is much easier and wiser because it is open source and widely supported. Lots of big companies use MySQL, you think the developers store their data in flat files? If Google did that then it'd be a crying shame, aswell as slow and bulky products.

@Samzsite Okay, well, I just tried to install phpMyAdmin. I followed everything I was told but the darn thing just wont work. Even installing PHP wont work. I followed everything I was told there too but those things just wont work. So I am stuck with doing boring html, css and javascript coded websites. No php, phpmyadmin, java, sql, mysql, mysqllite. None of that. My computer just won't work with programming languages that need to be installed. Pisses me off!

I would just like to say that learning PHP on youtube is cool and all and there ARE some really neat tutorials, but If you ever felt that you wanna learn all of it quick, Simplephp is a complete guidebook to the php language in an e-book form. It takes all the useful information and displays it then goes on to the more complicated fancy stuff. Good php programmers can make like 125$ an hour so why not learn it and make the money yourself! it might have been more useful to take the users through creating the tables via the phpmyadmin user interface instead of just copy pasting a load of SQL which most users probably wont understand.

Hey kid you must use the mysql_real_escape_string() else hackers can easly inject usernames drop you're database crash you're server and go one. And BTW the ip thing would not work if i use javascript:alert(document.form­s. balbalbalba) and go on and go on beter use it in the post.
