@aido92 I should have chosen my words more carefully but yea I cared more about proving that Religion doesn't on its own make all people heartless and can in certain cases be viewed as a harmless and acceptable painkiller.

@xxSerpenttinexx We actually understand a great deal about the complexity of the natural world. I generally find that those that say that science doesn't answer so many things, haven't read any science since they left school and are fairly ignorant of the depth of current knowledge.
Religion, however, answers questions with myth, fallacy and fantasy, flavoured with prejudice and discrimination, and mixed with platitudes and widely-held generalities. Give me reason and truth any day.

That is not a justification for believing gods exist.
Additionally, that does NOT override precepts of logic which clearly indicate that the burden of proving a claim rests entirely upon the shoulders of those that made the claim. It is NOT for anyone else to disprove any absurd claim that anyone else decide to make. Such as a claim like Pink Unicorns exist.

@GluttonForSex When I was a child, I read about the Titanic, and all of the prayers to Big Sky Daddy to save them from those deep frigid waters of the North Atlantic, but only the wooden lifeboats saved lives; everyone else drowned & froze. Later on, I read about the Jewish Holocaust of WWII, and about the prayers of those in the camps....Six million died, but Big Sky Daddy did nothing. If he won't come down out of the clouds and intervene for six million, what would it take?

@kayak995 Well, it is impossible to prove a negative. That doesn't take away that we can conclude two things whe looking at the state of the world:
1) What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence
and
2) If this magical sky daddy does exist, it does such a poor job that it isn't worth thinking about. If it had any competitors, it would be out of a job very quickly.
