@mjmont92 Haha same. Don't really listen to radio rock anymore but it has brought gems like that into forming my music taste today. Also discovered At the drive-in and Jawbreaker from him, too bad there's not a program that can play all that kind of cool music.. oh well we have youtube.
How is it even humanly possible that on all of Youtube no one has posted The Promise Ring's greatest achievement, namely, "The Size of Your Life"? Many things in life defy logic and I number this omission among them . . .
this is a band that realy kicks ass Davey is the best singer i think in the world alot of people will say f you your full of shit but he in my book is the shit im in a punk band and people laugh at me cause i love the promise ring saw them for 7 dollars with jimmy eat world in phoenix best show ever !!!!
wood water was disappointing. Especially because the tour for the album, they played maybe one or two songs off the other albums. It was the last time I saw them live and basically it blew. I still love them.
I remember them playing a song from wood/water on Conan O Brien like 10 years ago. It pretty good but yeah, the album was underwhelming. Von Bohlen has Maritime out now and it's a little bit like Promise Ring but way softer.
This is real emo.Today emo got lost in style, like the hair or the tight black jeans. This when it was REAL!When it was GOOD!I mean some modern day emo bands are good, but these guys knew what it really was!
No, this isn't real emo. This is more indie pop than anything. Real emo is Embrace, Rights of Spring, and if you wanna stretch, Sunny Day Real Estate.
Hmmmm,I guess it comes off differntly to different people, but tanks for the recommendation. And just saying if you're into indie,The Jets To Brazil are a erally good band!
even then dude, there are older bands from the mid 80's that fit the emo title better (and I hate using that name) Anywho, I'd just call this indie college rock.
WAIT, so was it the milk man that liked her?? cuz you see em walk by..?? i mean..Im sure it's the lil dude with the goatee, but the milk man at the end threw me for a loop here!
Great band. I miss them a lot. (Not to mention, I miss real emocore if you want to call it that) I remember when this video came out. I was in the 9th grade. good stuff.

this band is so old, its just nice to know that ANYBODY still knows about them. old emo it is, but it fits into the term of college indie rock now.

I've been meaning to check out Jets to Brazil, actually. The singer from Jawbreaker is in that band, and I like them quite a bit.
