I am now reading Hillary Clinton's autobiography, I believe her writing is very vivid in reading and deep pics in minds. Compare with Ms. Adrienne Clarkson's autobiography--she also got once divorce though, her writing is a little bit just describe and lack of self reflection. So, I love Hilary's more. :)

About self portrait, I believe both Queen Elizabeth--who has very good speech talents and never need notes to speak. And Ms. Hillary Clinton, they all can do this. Like Da Vinci for himself.

I recommend everyone to check out Bread's music. Gates is an incredible songwriter and musician/singer. A version of "Everything I Own" posted by [axioGP] which is to the right of this page in the video list shows how even in a concert setting Gates could reproduce that delicate and flawless voice which you hear on the studio recordings. Many people think the song is about a romantic couple but Gates actually wrote it as a tribute to his Father who had died. David is a genius songwriter.

Looking just now on youtube for the original of "If" by Bread (w/ Gates.), I found that many versions posted had the sound erased/deleted.(most likely by the music company who owns the rights to the recording) I did find one version that is the real Gates and Bread. It is posted by the channel [ SommieReturns ]. If anyone is interested in hearing the original, that is 100% the real David Gates singing. His voice and delivery have always been incredibly moving.

This is David Gates and Bread, the 4th song on the Bread album named MANNA from 1971 (not a solo effort). The copy used here is washed out a bit (perhaps recorded off of an old 33-1/3 RPM onto a Philco Tape Recorder) but one can check out iTunes by looking up the album BEST OF BREAD from 2001 and comparing it.

@Gnillob802, Sorry but this is not David Gates. I've been a big fan of Bread and Mr. Gates voice in particular since I was I was very young and until today. I have Bread albums and know his vocal tone. This guy has some of the traits of David's voice, but no one can replicate that tone and delivery and nuance as well as the man himself. This singer is a fair copy but not the real David Gates.

Listen to the original "If" by Bread and you'll hear the difference.
