genious i actually had the same idea except because rewiring controllersis scary i am going to use a genesis arcade controller and integrate it but that is perfect,
I see a few problems with your setup. On the NES and SNES parts of the Yobo FC3, the buttons are backwards. Even if this guy reversed the way they usually are, they'd then be backwards for the Genesis portion.
Another Cosmetic concern is the fact the X on his Play Choice sign isn't the same font or color as everything else. The purple clashes.
Yobo is notorious for their low quality goods and compatibility problems.
The X was purposefully made a different font and a different color so that it did in fact stand out from everything else.
Swapping the controls from the way YOBO made it over to the correct format was a must. Could you possibly imagine trying to play Super Mario any other way? Genesis still plays perfectly. ABC correspond to BA and L.
YOBO is chintzy goods, for sure. But tell me where else you can purchase all three cart-based systems in one and I'll buy it.
YOBO gives you ABC for the typical genesis setup. Simply moving the B and A around on my Control Panel only moves around very basic attacks. The gamepad's C button also corresponds to the L button. This is why you don't see 8 buttons on the control panel, just the standard 6 button SNES layout.
Also, never forget that most games on SNES and Genesis allow you to manually change the button layout to suit your needs.
Only the NES port is quite. The SNES is normal. The Genesis is loud as hell. The solution? I soldered wires into the TV set's volume controls and installed the volume up and volume down buttons directly to the control panel.
That way I can adjust the volume to whatever levels I need at a moments notice.
thats brilliant!! i want one, where do i get the plans to make one????????????

Great work, really impressed. I too have this FC3 system and thought about modifying this with a n64 in a 4 in 1 unit.

One more question, did you mod the device for S-video so you can use progressive scan? Or is the image interlaced?

@ZombieRyushu
The simplest answer to running the video on this sucker was to just use the RCA cables that are supplied with the YOBO.
They look 100% like they did when I was 10 years old. Same video cables that I was using nearly 20 years ago. Total kickass!

@gozer5454 How exactly did you keep the controls correct for the Genny end?

@gozer5454 One other thing. What about the fact that the Audio from the Yobo is very quiet? Did you add an Amplifier?

What's the last song called? Is it an 80's song??

@GameRoomKid
I don't remember the name of the songs, but both were in one of my favorite 80's movies, "Rad".
