Make sure "Virtual Surround" is checked in the Enhancements tab of the device's Properties window. (Go to Devices & Printers, R-click the USB device, click sound settings, and it might be listed as a 2nd set of speakers.) It might not be with a 64-bit OS. Otherwise it just sounds like decent stereo.
@Mr0Beast audio cable from ur tv (ur tv must have one for this to work) to the headset dolby sound card but it sounds amazing every thing is crystal clear
Since it has 3.5mm audio AND mic jacks does that mean you can plug the audio jack into say, an Mp3 player and have sound through the headset that way?
@CCReviews I figured that out after finally purchasing a GameCom 367, which is the same as the 777 with 2 exceptions. The 367 is a closed ear design whereas the 777 is an open ear design(same headset as the 377). The other difference is the 777 comes with the 7.1 virtual surround sound usb sound card, and the 367 and 377 versions do not. You can get the 367 closed ear design for around 25 US dollars, the 377 for 30 USD and the 777 for about 60 USD, on amazon(dot) com thanks again for replying!
Should I get this instead of Medusa 5.1? I saw both of your reviews and I'm in doubt between those two headsets. I'm aiming for a more 5.1 sound I don't care if its virtual or real as long as it gives the feeling. Note: Will the Medusa 5.1 get the surround sound if its only connected by the USB and the 3.5mm ( the green one)?
Just bought this 2 hours ago and tested, was like wtf why isn't the 7.1 system working..im hearing all like with my old headset...then watched this and noticed theres switch on/off button on the Dolby adapter! Saved my day ;)
You know that the soundcard is for laptop's and it's not real 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound becouse it's connected via 2.0 stereo 3.5 mm jack. Also i must say that this headset is really, really good and i have it my self.
That's why they call it Virtual surround sound. There is No headset on the market with real 7.1 surround btw.
The designer of the card probably thought it was only for laptops, but he forgot that it is a soundcard that actually changes the sound a little so it seems like you have 7.1 surround. Of course you aren't not going to use that card then, certainly also not if you have a desktop.
Whats the difference between 5.1 surround set and 7.1? And by this i mean what does the package include? Does both have that usb thingy? And also are 5.1 still being sold somewhere?
Okay because my local network shop is selling that "5.1 version" though when i take the link to producers page there it says its 7.1. Well thanks for quick replys :)
You could btw contact that shop or go over there and check wheter it says '7.1surround' on the box. Normaly it should; otherwise I've really looked over something.
I have sound errors with these, (i've tinkered with everything) read the instructions, plugged and unplugged the cords and still nothing! please reply if you can help please.
Good review man, like your reviews, seem to explain everything.
I've read about other headsets that say they're 5.1/7.1. Mainly cheap headsets that don't pull off the surround sound at all. Dolby seems to know how to do it correctly, even though, as you stated it's nothing like a real surround sound headset.
this headset is exactly like the 367 or 377 but has a usb soundcard. I have had the 367 and even dropping it on carpet from about 1 meter 5 times will see this headset broken so be careful
What do you mean when you say it has "no drivers"? Did you have to install your own?

@PrOdiGyViisto It has adequate bass, it's not exaggerated by any means so don't expect a lot of bass.

For about the same price, you should buy the Roccat kave headet. It's better than both.
You need to insert all cables to have the surround btw.
