  • What do you mean when you say it has "no drivers"? Did you have to install your own?

  • @ibro396 there are none included and none needed. It's plug and play ;)

  • Make sure "Virtual Surround" is checked in the Enhancements tab of the device's Properties window. (Go to Devices & Printers, R-click the USB device, click sound settings, and it might be listed as a 2nd set of speakers.) It might not be with a 64-bit OS. Otherwise it just sounds like decent stereo.

  • is it also PS3 compatible?

  • Yes but you might want to by a USB for the PS3..

On the adapter you'll find the red, yellow and whit cables :P

  • It is Windows 7 compatible? The on-board soundcard doesnt work, just the normal stereo sound.

  • My mic does not work on this headset! Any ideas how to fix it??

  • @XeNoSimpelius have u muted ur mic by chance? and try under control panel ==> sounds . ur sound might sight too low

  • @XeNoSimpelius do you have mac?

  • if the short USB bothers you get a USB extender cable ( double ended usb)

  • @MrSean571 which means spending extra money.

  • @CCReviews mimimimi pussy

  • Best fucking headset i've ever had, once you plugin the USB part, it's changes from good to magical

  • btw, does the surround sound work on PS3?

  • @PrOdiGyViisto

It has a good bass and it should work on ps3

  • does it have good bass?

  • @PrOdiGyViisto It has adequate bass, it's not exaggerated by any means so don't expect a lot of bass.

  • this works for the ps3 right?O.o i can hear bullets and all in it?

  • @Mr0Beast audio cable from ur tv (ur tv must have one for this to work) to the headset dolby sound card but it sounds amazing every thing is crystal clear

  • Great review! but can I use them on my xbox 360? please answer! thanks!

  • @mountainboardman

I'm not exactly sure, but I think you can.

  • @mountainboardman You can buy an adapter for xBox... besides it you have lot of headsets for xBox special release.

  • Since it has 3.5mm audio AND mic jacks does that mean you can plug the audio jack into say, an Mp3 player and have sound through the headset that way?

  • @whiteknightbob1

    yup that is possible

  • @CCReviews I figured that out after finally purchasing a GameCom 367, which is the same as the 777 with 2 exceptions. The 367 is a closed ear design whereas the 777 is an open ear design(same headset as the 377). The other difference is the 777 comes with the 7.1 virtual surround sound usb sound card, and the 367 and 377 versions do not. You can get the 367 closed ear design for around 25 US dollars, the 377 for 30 USD and the 777 for about 60 USD, on amazon(dot) com thanks again for replying!

  • @whiteknightbob1

    Interesting to know that ;)

Sorry for the 'slow' response though, we were on vacation.

  • is it 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound? because i see on internet 5.1

  • @lars38010

    This is virtual 7.1

  • Should I get this instead of Medusa 5.1? I saw both of your reviews and I'm in doubt between those two headsets. I'm aiming for a more 5.1 sound I don't care if its virtual or real as long as it gives the feeling. Note: Will the Medusa 5.1 get the surround sound if its only connected by the USB and the 3.5mm ( the green one)?

  • @HimsingDA

For about the same price, you should buy the Roccat kave headet. It's better than both.

You need to insert all cables to have the surround btw.

  • @CCReviews it's kind of funny... i'm trying to find a replacement for my kaves :I

  • Mine also broke where you showed after a year of usage. I have to 367 which are basically the same in build.

  • Just bought this 2 hours ago and tested, was like wtf why isn't the 7.1 system working..im hearing all like with my old headset...then watched this and noticed theres switch on/off button on the Dolby adapter! Saved my day ;)

  • You know that the soundcard is for laptop's and it's not real 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound becouse it's connected via 2.0 stereo 3.5 mm jack. Also i must say that this headset is really, really good and i have it my self.

  • @Finq3r

That's why they call it Virtual surround sound. There is No headset on the market with real 7.1 surround btw.

The designer of the card probably thought it was only for laptops, but he forgot that it is a soundcard that actually changes the sound a little so it seems like you have 7.1 surround. Of course you aren't not going to use that card then, certainly also not if you have a desktop.

  • Whats the difference between 5.1 surround set and 7.1? And by this i mean what does the package include? Does both have that usb thingy? And also are 5.1 still being sold somewhere?

  • @Swoopi3

I don't know exactly why there are places where they say they sell the 5.1 version, as there only is the 7.1 version..

  • @CCReviews

Okay because my local network shop is selling that "5.1 version" though when i take the link to producers page there it says its 7.1. Well thanks for quick replys :)

  • @Swoopi3

    no problem ;)

You could btw contact that shop or go over there and check wheter it says '7.1surround' on the box. Normaly it should; otherwise I've really looked over something.

  • @CCReviews

    Will do that :)

  • @CCReviews I think when they mean 5.1, they mean the gamecom 367

  • Is this headset really 7.1 cus everysite I go to they say that this headset is 5.1?

  • @RATSHADY

    It's 7.1 ;p

  • Nice, i won this 1 in their giveaway ^^

  • do the earmuffs release heat well ?

  • @sssarsss

    it's ok :)

  • The microphone on this is AWFUL!

  • This might be a dumb Question, but I want to make sure before I buy it...

Will this work with my MacBook Pro?

  • @darkbaphomet666

Yeah it most likely is ;p

  • do this headset work with the ps3?

  • @Tedzz94

    from what I heard, yes

  • @CCReviews is it just plug and play with the ps3?

  • @CCReviews is it just plug and play with the ps3?

  • @ShabGold07

    I guess so.

  • I have sound errors with these, (i've tinkered with everything) read the instructions, plugged and unplugged the cords and still nothing! please reply if you can help please.

  • Good review man, like your reviews, seem to explain everything.

I've read about other headsets that say they're 5.1/7.1. Mainly cheap headsets that don't pull off the surround sound at all. Dolby seems to know how to do it correctly, even though, as you stated it's nothing like a real surround sound headset.

  • @chaossaga

    Thanks ;)

Yeah, the sound is very good, and it sounds better than normal stereo. But it doesn't beat real surround.

  • this headset is exactly like the 367 or 377 but has a usb soundcard. I have had the 367 and even dropping it on carpet from about 1 meter 5 times will see this headset broken so be careful

  • Very nice review man, review more Plantronics products they make some of the best headsets out there!

  • @chinoangel1

    Thank you!

I'll sure try to do so ;)
