I just purchased the RIFT game last night..I played up to lvl 9....THE GAMES BLOWS BIG TIME..total let down...In short its a warhammer/wow/aion with better graphics...they failed to created a unique battle system its almost a clone of AION & WOW..im pissed just spent 53 bucks at the gamestop cuz the said its awesome the best MMO ive played so far is AOC awesome battle system stunning graphics. If you havnt noticed cata came out around a month ago and people are already bored of, Blizz is just milking the last of it and WoW will soon die. You should try somthing new. (Even look at the new zones they came out with, they r all over the place..WoW is running out of areas and ideas)

@Tyrrsh WoW has a lore unlike any others as rift does, but when the high elf description is almost like wows, thats just lame, rift has new ideas, as wow does, yes i know wow copied warhammer, but rift copied from wow so if your defending rift you cant really, all mmos except the first copy, but that doesnt mean they cant come up with new ideas, rift had about 5 while wow had a ton, just adding a new paint job doesnt make a game a wow killer, while rifts graphics are pretty amazing ill play wow.

How you are able to farm your PvP gear? How much they changed/added abilities? How much they changed the areas of the world itself? The new dailies they've added? Thrall story? Firelands? Deathwing? Ragnoras back? Tol Barad? How you can't play stupid anymore in dungeons? I think a lot of things are pretty new actually(:

Oh and to add, it's not easier in anyway. Go take someone who just absolutely can't play into a heroic and tell me how that works out for you(: Then try to get somewhere in arena with them, attempt to get above 1800, and tell me how that works out for you as well:D

CC one rogue and blow up the second rogue with my 15k bleeds ticking off at the very least that crit up to around 45k & the warrior stunlocking him so he cant escape/vanish
How does it not count? When it's part of the arena system? And please don't go into the specifics about "which class combination in (A)x(A) is the easiest to beat, any class can be beaten by any class as long as the person has a higher skill level than the other person.

You just admitted you need a high skill level & that means you cannot be someone who "absolutely can't play" to get into the high brackets when someone like me will beat you in seconds & Im not even that pro. And it doesnt count cause you can't buy arena gear with it. A double blood DK team that has some logic will win almost every match for their self healing & decent dmg. Same with prot pallies. That's why is doesnt count.
I ran out of room.... but another reason why it doesn't count is you can't get into tournaments even if your 2v2 rating is 2800, it's all based on 3's and 5's now.

@brockenbones You can strip down to underwear but cannot take that off. However if it pleases you, you can see the slight protrusion of nipples under the female characters bikini tops in the beta client, an interesting detail Trion's artists left in. Safe to say, their art team is very very thorough.
I really like the painterly quality to the facial textures, like how the tip of the nose and ears blend to pink, and the cheeks are flushed with warmth. It really tends to make your characters (I have a HIgh Elf and a Kelari) look more like very good concept are than typical in-game graphics. <3
@TWOTLK well there still are high elves on the alliance in various places but a band of high elves lead by Quel'Thalas were corrupted by their need for arcane magic, a couple years after that happened they found new allies in the horde, I wasn't trying to be too cynical but the whole idea of elves being overused in MMOs is a little redundant at this point in gaming
@Craziguy33 I agree! And not to mention Elves being 'overused' in High Fantasy fiction in general. They're just another trope to fall back upon when plot-creating and world-building. Not really a big deal. :)

@Elynde I certainly understand that fantasy isn't supposed to be real, but I find Asha's "armor" ridiculous. Maybe her armor forms a protective barrier of some sort, so actual metal isn't needed, but, anyway... Why can't armor be armor?

Great video! Nice to see the customization on the High Elves, I would agree with the first statement from Spicynacho, however, GENERALLY, most people are covered by helms but that doesn't make customization any less important. It allows people to connect with their character, so good job Trion Worlds, I can't wait to see more.
if they invested more time and detail in character creation options and mechanics they would have allot more success at launch for a user base. why only a few options for something ul stare at for years seems to them enough is strange given what an mmo is.
the everyone looks identical thing puts people off some titles, least it does me.
When we boil down what matters when it comes to mmos Character creation is pretty low on my list. Half the time your avatar is covered with a helm or you're looking at the back of their head. I am much more worried about the content of dungeons and overworld, and how fine tuned the game mechanics are. Besides in most other mmos a majority of the characters look ugly anyways.
Why don't you stop assuming what games I play and start posting something actually relevant to the video instead of flame. Besides I was commenting on the fact that I am happy Trion is more worried about the game play rather than something frivolous like how your character appears in the world.

Oh, I am talking about other people. There are people out there who would do it if they didn't run the risk of getting arrested. have you ever gone to a nude beach? For me personally, I just don't wan't to lol. But its different in a game, nobody knows who you are.

@HDaviator Yes, it is different in a game, but many people don't change just because of that (I mean that they play a game like they would do it in real life) Why do you worry if other people will abuse it? I see it everywhere "omg don't put that in, it is gonna get abused" christ, stop worrying about how other people will use the option a game has to offer. If you see someone running around naked in the game you'd think he's an idiot right? And you don't want to play with an idiot do you?

I am just saying that even though Rift would be popular, it wouldn't be as big as say WoW so it wouldn't have as many servers meaning more idiots would concentrate on servers. If the game did make the plunge to allow full nudity, idiots that didn't even play MMORPGs before would join just to do it. Do you know how many immature idiots there are playing FPS games? I can guarantee that would happen. It would become too widespread to ignore. Just my .02. lol

@brockenbones You can strip down to underwear but cannot take that off. However if it pleases you, you can see the slight protrusion of nipples under the female characters bikini tops in the beta client, an interesting detail Trion's artists left in. Safe to say, their art team is very very thorough.

I really like the painterly quality to the facial textures, like how the tip of the nose and ears blend to pink, and the cheeks are flushed with warmth. It really tends to make your characters (I have a HIgh Elf and a Kelari) look more like very good concept are than typical in-game graphics. <3

@TWOTLK well there still are high elves on the alliance in various places but a band of high elves lead by Quel'Thalas were corrupted by their need for arcane magic, a couple years after that happened they found new allies in the horde, I wasn't trying to be too cynical but the whole idea of elves being overused in MMOs is a little redundant at this point in gaming

@Craziguy33 I agree! And not to mention Elves being 'overused' in High Fantasy fiction in general. They're just another trope to fall back upon when plot-creating and world-building. Not really a big deal. :)

@Luincir Ahh its pretty good, There is not that many bugs that i know of, So i believe that they have done a pretty decent job on the game, even if its in beta!

@Luincir it feels very polished... the game runs really smooth as well... it felt like a finished product, not beta at all... I tend to be a harsh critic, but I must say that these guys are doing a really good job... and the game world and graphics are stunning... I was very impressed

well good to see video games are trying to copy real world armor designs instead of ridiculous thongs and iron bras . Elf ears look pretty damn good.
But i bet one thing they still wont include will be in game barber shops to change character's hairstyles and beards .

@Scott97169 She's pretty, but I'm not attracted to her, I'm a straight woman. And yes, I do prefer medieval English style to anime, very very much. And as for a body of a man... they didn't show her without her clothes, armor adds bulk. They don't all have to have legs 5 feet long, huge boobs and wearing a bikini.

@Elynde I certainly understand that fantasy isn't supposed to be real, but I find Asha's "armor" ridiculous. Maybe her armor forms a protective barrier of some sort, so actual metal isn't needed, but, anyway... Why can't armor be armor?

@Ranziel1 I have no problem with real armor. Chainmail hung down to people knees and wasn't form fitting. I was simply responding to Scott97169 who said she had the body of a man. When I said she would look better in Asha's armor I meant that her femininity would be shone off.

Great video! Nice to see the customization on the High Elves, I would agree with the first statement from Spicynacho, however, GENERALLY, most people are covered by helms but that doesn't make customization any less important. It allows people to connect with their character, so good job Trion Worlds, I can't wait to see more.

if they invested more time and detail in character creation options and mechanics they would have allot more success at launch for a user base. why only a few options for something ul stare at for years seems to them enough is strange given what an mmo is.
the everyone looks identical thing puts people off some titles, least it does me.

When we boil down what matters when it comes to mmos Character creation is pretty low on my list. Half the time your avatar is covered with a helm or you're looking at the back of their head. I am much more worried about the content of dungeons and overworld, and how fine tuned the game mechanics are. Besides in most other mmos a majority of the characters look ugly anyways.
