Ariel is a fish woman who I do love. She was willing to do anything just to live on the land. However, she didn't really do anything.

Mulan knew how to fight, disguised herself as a man and got away with it, and SAVED Chyna all by herself.

Belle is the best personality-wise (a little TOO perfect though) and Jasmine's got the looks and the attitude.

So, out of all of the princesses you discussed, it would have to be a toss-up between those two.

@Shanna678 What do you mean "why does everyone love Ariel so much?"? The answer is blantly obvious. She, unlike the other princesses, has a very bubbly personality which makes her more interesting.

And she's one who actually fought back, she helped defeat Ursula! Do you think Snow White could do that? No way. She would just run and hide and depend on her prince and Cinderella couldn't even stand up to her stepmother!

I like Belle and Jasmine as well but they're not as fun as Ariel.

@boffinme80 I would definitely agree that she is far more interesting than Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty. But frankly, I've never really cared for those 3 either.

And I don't think you're giving the other princesses enough credit. The 3 original princesses were docile and submissive. The newer ones, like Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, etc., have all been more independent, defiant, and actually TRY to fight back. That's due to our currently more feminist culture, in my opinion.

People dont like Snow White for her Voice but I liked it.,., She was just 14 BTW!! She didnt stood up for herself unlike other Princesses because she was too Sweet and Innocent!! She was from 1930's! It's not her fault!

Cinderella worked as a Servant for her Stepmother because she was well-mannered and hadnt seen the world at all! She also didnt stood for herself the Godmother forced her into the Ball! Yet she was a Good Princess! :)

@boffinme80 Yes.,., Aurora was too Boring because her movie was also boring! The only pro-activ characters in the movie were the 3 fairires and Maleficient! But it's not her fault either! At least she expressed her displeasure for not meeting Philip! Yet she agreed to leave because girls in the 50's were likt that only! They never thought of themselves but of their relatives' satisfaction!

@boffinme80 So when Ariel was released people werent ready to accept the gal's persona because she was too proactiv for them! Sh was the first princess to actually think for herself also and fully express herself! That's why she is so memorable! Belle was somewhat similar to her but more mature! She made friends with a Beast rather than Town-Hardy Gaston! And finally she also found her Prince! Jasmine had never seen the outside world! She was just locked in her castle! That's why she hated LAWS!

In the very beginning, when she was supposed to be at rehearsals or that one concert, she was always off exploring and ignoring responsibility. (I believe that's accurate. Correct me if I'm wrong though. I haven't seen the movie in a while.) She's rather reckless and I thought it was foolish of her to pursue the affections of a guy she had just met.

But maybe that's the true problem...

(Continued)... The reason why I don't really care for her is probably because I feel that the writers use her character to encourage girls to trust their feelings and pursue them. Not a bad idea in theory, but I personally think it causes more harm than good. I think it encourages girls to give their whole heart to the first man that pays attention, because they mistake infatuation for love. Girls can get their heart broken that way. And no, I don't think this way, because I've done this myself.

@Shanna678 I love Jasmine but I think she is slightly more spoilt than Ariel. She didn't even want to be a princess let alone marrying a guy and not wanting to obey the law and she didn't like Aladdin that much when she first met him. Then he took her out and even after that she flounced off in a huff. She's very fiesty but even she has her tiny bratty side as well. People don't like Snow White because of her voice and everything and she was the only princess who never stood up for herself.
