  • I thought this was very clever and she is a very emotional woman. That Matt Shepard story she told is so very sad. I remember one line from the news reporters saying when they found matt his face was covered in blood, except for two lines from where he'd been crying.

  • okay soo she wants to demand respect w/ out giving it? That is what I am getting from the first few minutes in. If she's saying she doesn't have to be nice to someone then that is bullying

  • @musictosuckyfucky And you completly missed the point of the whole thing. Well done.

  • We should send Rick Santorum to one of these.

  • after 3 minutes I realized that that woman is a bully, so i stopped watching.

  • @thinkofwhy THATS THE POINT. Watch the rest of the damn video.

  • @pillzez Why would anyone subject them self to watching a bully berate others. If she intended to convey a message other than the first impression, then she could've made her first impression slightly more palatable. But that's life. Sometimes you get only one chance, and she blew her one chance, as far as I'm concerned.

  • @thinkofwhy Is racism ever delivered in a palatable way? Are you serious? The point is when you're being discriminated against, it comes in this bitter little pill or worse. Pay attention to the point..

  • Listen to 'Straight White Male' by Andrew Jackson Jihad.

  • fucking self-hating cunt. Jealous of the true aryans. She should fucking go to Liberia that stupid cunt.

  • I have the eye of the tiger. How should I be treated?

  • DOWNVOTED because: 1) Racism isn't exclusively white. 2) White people are just as subject to racism as everyone else. 3) This was all about inducing white guilt. 4) She made a white girl cry and then told the class to not feel sorry for her because she's white. 5) Non-whites do not get treated this badly; they may experience some disadvantages sometimes, but they're not put in this kind of situation on a daily basis. 6) STOP TELLING ME IM BAD BECAUSE IM WHITE!!! WHITE GUILT IS BULLSHIT!!!

  • @wjbvii You must be the girl that walked out in the middle.

  • @Kaddybong I'd bet you enjoyed watching those poor girls cry, didn't you? But next time you see this happening to anyone else you'll feel indignant. You can take your double standards and shove 'em.

  • Comment removed

  • @wjbvii 1: When have you been followed around in a store? 2: See 1 3: Nah not really. Pay attention. 4: Its a part of the exercise 5: Yes we do. We really do. 6: Aha. Alright sure.

  • @wjbvii Well you clearly missed the point. And this wasn't just about being white. And black people do have to go through this. All the time. Not just blacks, but none white people.

  • I feel like there would be a problem if someone with white eyes in this exercise was gay. Would they still learn the same thing?

  • @337336324317313306 Okay maybe my question was answered.

  • "then thy get angry, you've seen that happen"

Notice the only people who were angry were the people you were treating like shit.

  • "The psychologies of blacks is not the same as psychologies of blacks". Ok THAT is racism right there, unless she can prove that pigment effects psychology.

  • @FatherTime89 no, it's not the color that makes psychologies between whites/blacks different--it is the culture, their experiences in society, etc.

  • @TalkingRaindrop The is no one culture all whites are a part of, neither is there one for blacks, or Asians, or whatever

  • @FatherTime89 i think what she meant is they learned thinking processes from life expiriences

  • Jane Elliot. I thank God for you. I am currently in China and this class module or test situation should be done to the Chinese because they hate the blacks with passion.

  • Jane's Frankfurt School; she reminds me of Big Sis, "watch & report terrorists"... she uses the military bootcamp technique & now her little soldiers will begin to see racism wherever they look.

  • 30:56 Bullshit yo she was mad

  • I agreed with everything until she said 'You can change your orientation'. You cannot change your sexual or romantic attraction any more than skin colour. As a white female who happens to be gay, I have experienced my fair share of prejudice. But I would never compare it to something such as race, which has been shunned for hundreds of years.

The fact we've advanced so much in things like technology but have barely advanced in the fight for equality is extremely worrying.

  • @Xironarc I'm pretty sure that she said "ornamentation" not "orientation."

  • @Xironarc I think she said ornamentation.

  • 45:21 shut up Malfoy!

  • The black people in this clip is exaggerating, "We go trough this every day" I call Bullshit.

  • I agree with someone who previously wrote that her exercise is idiotic- and I am a college instructor. All she is doing is berating, demeaning, and being obnoxious to people, especially the white girls. I have had teachers act similarly as well. I dislike racism, but do not see how this 'exercise' simulates racism. It's groundless. Not being able to recite something or not bringing a pen to the exercise does not make a person stupid. The woman is deranged.

  • @Gollum0786 the exercise that she performed was for entertainment purposes as well, but it does exercise ideas to people that may not listen/learn from previous talks. I understand that you have understood and dont think that this matter should be taught like this but people like to see other people suffer; so this is an enticement to those who enjoy programs like this and teach them of the consequences of racism. She presented it in a way that caught the attention of all audiences.

  • I think Jane Elliot is an awesome person! For her to be a white female and be able to COMPLETELY identify with the struggles of people of color and to be able to teach it, which means great understanding, is out of this world!!!!!!!

  • 29:00 is the best bit.

  • WTF is this white girl crying? Seriously why was she crying? lol. Ain't got shit to do with being white I've been discriminated against and i wouldn't cry over it like that. It's an every day struggle for most people to be discriminated against like that you shouldn't cry over it.

  • When people say i don't see you as black or whatever race they just mean I don't judge people by their skin color. i don't want to see myself as white either. WTF is this lady talking about.

  • well as I watch this video i see she's talking about a different type of white people because me personally I am not like this at all. Though there's ignorant people like that in every race.

  • continued part 8: Ignorance for a change. Though I know the ignorance ain't going to stop reguardless of what race i am. I just wish people would stop though but I know they won't. I like what I once heard 2pac say and I think this sums it up. I live my whole life to be responsible for what I do I don't know how to be responsible for what every black male (fill in the blank for your race) does. The truest or one of the truest statements i've ever heard. I live by saying that. I'm myself and I

  • Continued part 7: people of my so called race and other races are sick of it as well. Some people are bias and only sick of discrimination against their race but i'm sick of it against all people in general. I don't care what race you are it ain't going to be better as another race it's the same bs no matter what race you are. I've at times wished I could be another race just so it would be different discrimination because the same old dumb shit does get old so it would be nice to laugh at new

  • Continued part 6: to be more associated among whites. I never said i wanted to be white and frankly I don't give a dann what race I am. Never thought of people like that. I have judged everybody based on what they have done. i never assume anything about any person of any race at all. It's just stupid too. I'm sick of that type of treatment from people of all races to eachother. Cut the shit out. I'm sick of dealing with stupid stuff because of what some other person said or did and i know other

  • Continued part 5: Acting black when in reality i'm being myself. I like the music I like because that's what i like not because it's usually associated with a certain race. I mean is it wrong to like the music i like? Am i suppose to like rock even though I can't stand the sound of it? I mean really come on now. Or because I like black woman. Well that's what I like. Certain people will call anybody who's dating outside of their race a sell out. lol. how is that being a sell out i never claimed

  • Continued part 4: Person. Everything I like I chose to like. Whether it's stereotypical black things, stereotypical hispanic things, stereotypical asian things or anything else I like those things because i think they're cool. I've always had my own opinion and even if i did want to fit in with a certain race (which I don't) I couldn't because too many people of all races want you to be a certain way rather than be yourself. Can't fit in with certain white people becasue they'll say oh you're

  • Continued part 3: me so why would I assume these stereotypical things are true about others. You could go down a list of so called white things and most of them are things i'm not into. I've never associated myself as a race. I'm myself not a white man never considered myself a white man and unlike alot other people if I was another race I would be the same person I am because i never associated myself as a certain race or felt more comfortable around a certain race I'm just an all around people

  • continued from last comment:: judge by individuality. I've experienced discrimination as well so the whole 2 hour thing I didn't get. The fact is we all have experienced that kind of discrimination and I have as well just as much as anybody else. People need to just start treating everybody like individuals like my man Dr king Jr had said judge by character. That's what I do and I've never assumed anything about someone based on race becasuse i know stereotypical white things aren't true about

  • What is this lady talking about you had 2 hous and a half of that? I'm white and have blue eyes and I've been discriminated alot as well. People of all races, eye colors, hair colors, and everything else have been discriminated. There's alot of things that alot of people could do if not for discrimination of them as a person of a race. Because of what one person or from what people make up about a particular person's skin tone people assume things about all types of people and people need to

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime

I think you mean double-standard. Or irony. But yeah.

  • that blonde girl at the end was fucking irritating.

  • YOU CAN NOT CURE IGNORANCE WITH MORE IGNORANCE.

DOGGING ON WHITE PEOPLE IS RACIST. PLEASE RECOGNIZE THE HILARIOUS AND HYPOCRITICAL DOUBLE-ENTENDRE.

    THANK YOU.

    -WHITE PEOPLE

  • That's what racism is. It's not just noticing the fact that there are races. It's holding an individual responsible for the actions or caracteristics, real or imagined, of other members of a group he was born into.

Which is exactly what that Elliot woman is doing btw.

  • @pricelesskween91

Why do people who don't know the first thing about biology always say it has been "scientifically proven" that races don't exist? That's nonsense, and repeating it over and over won't make it true.

Of course races exist, as is obvious to anyone with a pair of eyes. What we should be teaching is not denial of reality, but the fact that individuals are not limited by their race at all, and you can and should never make an assumption on an individual based on his race.

  • @nrkus Dude, I didn't say it was "scientifically proven". But it probably is. DNA makes us who we are - biologically/physically speaking; so our different skin colors are due to variations in our DNA sequences. "Race" is yet another system of classification (e.g. religion, government, taxonomy...) that humans have created in order to simplify/organize things or even exploit . Not all of them are bad. I just feel that "race" is one of those classifications that we need to let go already.

  • This is no where as gracefully carried out as the original experiment. I wanted to smack those teachers.

  • Wow this is beyond stupid. This is just a women being a bitch for almost one hour, and teaching people how to be a bitch. This doesn't teach people to be tolerant.

  • @jonlem88 Congratulations on the privilege you have from being a man and being able to dismiss a woman by calling her a 'bitch' because you didn't understand her message. Thank you for demonstrating to me, another woman, that you feel free to belittle other women by using time-honored sexist slang.

Also, thank you for telling women that we can't be tolerant unless we are also tolerant of your intolerance, because tolerance has to extend to when you belittle us.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Advantage #1,which Whites have.... the right to be totally ignorant of what it is to be non-white Advantage #2 Deny that you are ignorant. #3 Claim to be a victim yourself. #4 Recruit like minded individuals. #5 Rinse & Repeat.

  • @vcdna1 Doesn't a lot of races do that?

  • @vcdna1 Well yeah certain whites. I myself have no idea what that's like.

  • @vcdna1 Amen my nigga. I fucking hate racists no matter what.

  • @vcdna1 ...Only whites have the ability to not know what's it like to be non-white just like only blacks have the ability to not know what's it like to be non-black. And anyone can be ignorant, or have a victim complex.

  • love heals.

  • Ok, towards the end I found myself having great respect for the woman, but when she said 'Carey can change her orientation' I was astounded. Really? Is that what she thinks? Wow, how tolerant of her. She threw away her credibility with just that one sentence.

  • @StrongImaginationA she said ornamentation not orientation. as in, she can change her outward appearence. people of color can't change their skin color.

  • @samanthamariesings @playgroundprotagonis Owwww, I'm sorry, I didn't hear that. Thank you, it makes more sense!

  • @samanthamariesings that is exactly what she said, she disagrees with all forms of discrimination but points out the fact that even though there is discrimination of sexual orientation, they can change their "ornamentation" to somewhat "hide" the fact that they are gay, whereas ppl of color do not have that ability....not that gays should have to hide, but they do have that ability to do so.

  • @StrongImaginationA

she didn't say orientation, she said ornamentation, meaning her jewelry, piercings etc..

  • 38:48 His expression: *Fool*

  • I WANT TO PROVE THAT RACISM EXISTS BY DENIGRATING THE WHITE MAN, AND PROPPING UP MY OWN RACE. HOW COULD THAT POSSIBLY BE SEEN AS HYPOCRITICAL?

  • This video is so amazing.

  • I have absolutely no sympathy for the chick who walked out. shut up and move on. I go through this each day.

  • @09kayster No you don't. Don't lie and don't self pity. The only thing you go through is an imaginary world of racism created solely by yourself. Rather than harping on random human rudeness that everyone has experienced, just focus on improving yourself. But of course I understand it's much easier to blame others.

  • @SuperAndrewMark "The only thing you go through is an imaginary world of racism created solely by yourself."

Did you even bother to watch the video?

  • @damasta00138 lol, yes. I watched it. This is not the way to get over racism. People of color will walk away from this exercise feeling more victimized and entitled to complain than before they came! and those feeling will be passed down to their offspring and so on, White people are over racism, we are waiting for people of color to get over it.

  • @SuperAndrewMark White people are over racism, yet racism still exists. Why should it be us white people that get to choose when racism is over? Why do we get to impose what we think is the right mindset on other people? "Don't complain because I don't think it's something you, as a person of color, should be complaining about." Now THAT is racist and supremacist. You're not the authority on other people's suffering and you don't get to impose your version of the world on others.

  • @SLNoel I will absolutely impose my version of the world on others if it means a world of no racism. Why would you want to impose a world that perpetuates racism? that is totally beyond me. I'm embarrassed by what you wrote.

And another thing, don't define me and tell me what I'm imposing, don't reverse discriminate on me. Other people's suffering? you have no clue what suffering is, go read the paper.

  • @SuperAndrewMark It's not up to you to dictate when racism is over because you don't experience racism. Torture doesn't stop just because the torturer says it does. It stops when the tortured doesn't feel pain or discomfort that qualifies, for that person, as torture.

On another note, you don't really get what racism is. Everyone can have prejudice and discriminate on a micro level. But racism occurs when prejudice is combined with institutional power.

  • @SuperAndrewMark In North America, blacks can certainly discriminate against whites, but because society already looks upon whites favorably, when that discrimination is over, whites escape to a world where they have all the opportunities. Whites also discriminate against blacks, but when that discrimination is over, blacks are still disadvantaged in society. That's racism.

Now, if you were in Japan, and Japanese society prevented white people from equal opportunity, that would be white racism.

  • @SLNoel You are defining me and what I understand, are you racist? Racism occurs when a person believes their race is superior to another's - institutional power doesn't have to be a part of it...

And as I said before, I will always impose my viewpoint if it means a world of no racism. You are free to keep recreating a world of racism if you prefer. Never underestimate people's will to complain whether it's realistic or not.

  • @SuperAndrewMark Speaking of Japanese. They were interned during World War II. Do you hear them complain about that? no. Wow, look what happens when you just move on!!

  • @SuperAndrewMark I'm afraid you're out of touch with anti-racist groups' real definition of racism. You see, instead of thinking I have all the answers for racism, I listen to the groups that are being oppressed to see how THEY feel about society right now. I value the opinion of the oppressed because they are the ones that are living it.

Also noting your point on the Japanese... no one is clinging to what happened in the past. We're dealing with racism that is happening today, right now.

  • @SLNoel I agree, I think we would get along too! I'm absolutely serious. I enjoyed this morning discussion. I have to be downtown in about 20 minutes, I just wanted to let you know and not be rude!! Have a good day!

  • @SuperAndrewMark I'm constructing you based on what you say. The burden's on you to prove me wrong with facts- utilizing rhetoric or attacking me is not a good way to go.

Also, if you feel you were attacked by my claiming your statement was racist and supremacist, keep in mind, I was talking about your statement. I can tell you're a very positive fellow that I'm sure I'd get along great with (seriously!). I've made racist, white-guilt statements in my past. I own my mistakes and focus on now.

  • @SuperAndrewMark The dictionary or paper is a poor reference to establish suffering. What makes one person suffer doesn't necessarily make another. I'm telling you what you're imposing because your words attempt to silence the dissent and overwrite the narratives of people of colour, who have plenty of reason to be dissenting even nowadays, in order to fulfill your narrative.

  • @SLNoel Racism is when a person believes one race is superior to another's. I don't have all the answers, but everyone struggles in this world. If you keep pointing the finger at others, you'll never find success and happiness. This country bends over backwards for minorities, tons of scholarships, federal aid, affirmative action, welfare, etc. The dictionary is not a poor reference to establish a definition. Maybe you need to use a different word for what you are want to discuss.

  • @SLNoel I need to go now, but I enjoyed the conversation and I hear your points, I just disagree. I'm not saying racism is completely gone. But I don't want to exaggerate racism. America is still primarily white. Look at our president, previous secretary of state? they are black. White people chose them to run the country. If that isn't proof of an equal society, then I don't know what is.

  • I understand the idea behind this that motivates her, although this will only create an adverse reaction which will approach more hatred toward 'white' people. There are racial conflicts all over the world involving different races, so just because I live in the USA does not mean you can assume I am involved or ever have been with treating other races in a negative way. They is a better way to teach a lesson like this, but it will always be up to EVERYONE to end racism.

  • From what I took from this experiment is that people certainly enjoyed being on the brown eyed side, supporting Jane Elliot's taunting. Even though this was a 2 and a half hour experiment It just goes to show that given power to belittle people as long as it was given an okay to do so( in this case to teach the lighter skinned people how minorities are treated on a daily basis), humans will jump at it.

  • @superfuntyme It looks like enjoyment, doesn't it? But, I'd say only 5% of it was enjoyment, but I don't blame you for thinking otherwise. It looked EXTREMELY trivial and the girl that left out crying looked like a big crybaby. Like Jane was saying, the woman could just leave because she knows she won't experience this in the outside world, but most of us just have to endure it and go about our day.

  • This exercise is pathetic. The USA gives equal opportunity...we do have a black president. Minorities love to play the race card as an excuse for their own personal failings. It's 2011 not 1945. If people would stop holding onto the past and focus on the future we wouldn't be having meaningless conversations like the one above.

  • @SuperAndrewMark Yes! Thank you.

  • @SuperAndrewMark It was and still is 2012 50 minutes ago

  • I understand what she's trying to do, but I'm confused; are those people in her class or whatever her students? Are they the ones discriminating or being discriminated against? I can't tell...And why did she call that girl stupid??

  • It was almost painful to watch for the other people, because I understand just how frustrated I would've become had this happened to me.

  • how are they not understanding this concept?

  • Growing up in the west coast I found that black people tended to be a lot meaner to pretty much everyone, I had met only one black person in my age group that was actually nice and he was adopted into a white family. I don't know if the white people where I live would be as racist as the local black population.

In my high School we have a 56% drop out rate for "African American" students and a 36% drop out rate for Hispanics.

I wonder if it would ever play out differently in my high school.

  • I'm sorry, 'Misfortune?'

  • @dkaylorify Misfortune only because of the way the world treats you. That's the whole point. It SHOULDN'T be, but in many ways it is. That's what's got to change.

  • Those last few seconds were heartbreaking.

  • This is so interesting. Amazing exercise..

That girl with the plait getting yelled at in the beginning is so cute - she looks like Alyssa Milano.

  • I see everyone posting really long comments about how they agree or disagree with this.

All I've got to say is, I love that woman. And I wish more people would see the world and fight for a change like she does.

  • @syk3rg1rl

I see a lot of people posting really short comments about other people's long comments, but then asking the people to all agree with her.

    hint hint

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Did I post one of those stupid "like if.." comments?

No, I did not. I was simply stating my opinion. Nothing more. I don't care if anyone agreed with me or not. I felt the need to express myself. This was interesting enough to get me hooked on my computer for 50 minutes. I loved her technique. When I wrote that comment, all I could see where other very extensive comments, which is why I stated that first line. Then, I stated my opinion. Simple as that. So, fuck off :)

  • @syk3rg1rl

Lol wtf are you talking about? Why you so angry? Haha.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime

I wasn't angry. Just letting you know. I wasn't asking for any "agreement" ...

  • @syk3rg1rl

And I stated my opinion about your opinion. It seems you believe you are the only one who's allowed to have an opinion. I never once asked for you to agree with me. I never once said I disagreed with you. I was using sarcasm to point out the irony that you're still missing.

And yes, you were obviously angry. You even told me to "fuck off". If that's not angry, I'm not sure what is.

You clearly are a teenager with misguided hostility.. "sky3rg1r1". lol.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime I say "fuck off" a lot. II'm a peaceful person (with strangers at least). Also, people tend to criticize a lot. I'm not inside your head to understand if your comment was meant in a good way or a bad way. I don't really have a "voice" out in the real world, or whatever, so, when I give opinions online I don't like people saying anything about them. It was just an opinion, nothing more. I just like putting things out there. Sorry for not "understanding".

  • @syk3rg1rl

You're a peaceful person who tells strangers to "fuck off"? Wow. You're really stacking up the hypocritical quality points, aren't ya little girl?

If you don't like people voicing their opinion about your opinion, then don't say it. But that's how free speech works, bitch. Oh... I meant "bitch" in a peaceful way. ROFL.

You're just not getting it. But that doesn't surprise me. But by your logic, I should tell you to be quiet and quit voicing your opinion about my opinion.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Wow.. Que mal te va. Yo de chiquita no tengo un pelo, lamentablemente. And, It's the FUCKING internet. I can say whatever I want as long as I'm not hurting anyone. You're telling me to "quit voicing my opinion about your opinion" BUT, if you wouldn't be such a entrometido, I wouldn't be loosing my temper. I'm not even gonna explain myself because you won't understand. Seems like I'm talking to a immature 13 year old who happens to have good grammar/punctuation.

  • @syk3rg1rl

Ok, first of all beaner, I never once said to stop voicing your opinion. I am simply pointing out the irony in your own stupid comments that you directly asked me not to voice my opinion of your opinion. You're not getting it. No doubt it's because you're an idiot... straight up fuckin' moron. Seriously!

And you lost your temper from the very beginning, which is why I continue to fuck with you. Remember? You said "fuck off". Act like a bitch? Get treated like one.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Pues si, soy una bicha..

    Algun problema maricón!?

Didn't think so.. Seriously, why are you even still arguing.. If I'm such a "moron" stop wasting your time and mine .. Please!

Enserio tipo, me tienes mal.. Wow..

  • @syk3rg1rl

Blah blah blah. I have no desire to translate your Spanish blathering. Nothing you say is of any value to anyone but yourself.

You're just some misinformed, arrogant, unenlightened teenager who hates white people. Fuck off, sugar tits. Stop replying.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Wait.. Even though I don't really think it matter and nothing you say is of any value to me.. How can I hate white people when I'm white? That doesn't make much sense. So yeah, at least come up with better insults next time :)

  • @syk3rg1rl

You've never heard of a white person hating on white people? You need to get out more. Your lack of experience in this world is overflowing in your messages. Grow up... and get rid of your teen angst. It's pathetic and transparent.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Your funny hahaha.. Your insults are entertaining.

Anyway, I don't like having shit like this bother my day and I don't like having people pissed at me so, I'ma be the better person here. I apologize for whatever I did to trigger your wrath. So yeah, have a good day/life! :)

  • @syk3rg1rl

    ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Lmao!

    hahaha

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Btw, my best friend made me this account some time ago.. And, your youtube account isn't really clever either.. "itcanbecheezcaketime" ..

  • @syk3rg1rl It's awesome that cheezecaketime is using the exact same silencing tactics against you that Jane was raising awareness of: tone, 'it's just a joke', 'treat the blues like idiots because they ARE idiots', and then being privileged enough to racial slurs.

  • @Skerroid I know! Oh well, at least someone learned something from the video.. Even if it was the wrong lesson :l

I won't pay much attention to it cause I know for a fact he's one of those "I never loose" people.. So yeah, keep rolling hahaha

  • "We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.

  • 2/2

People differentiate colors, shapes, sized, etc. To attempt to remove this evolutionary trait will never happen, nor could ever truly be displayed, in an unbias, non-anti-white way, like you see here in this experiment. White's and black's youths have already found a way to mend the hands of time. And they didn't have to call each other racist, or hurt one another to do it.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime I think you missed the point. You say that you're treated like a white male, and your friend like a black male. Whites, esp. white males, have privilege. It's not that every individual is blatantly racist towards POC, it's that normal folk who deny their privilege enable social/economical/political systems to favor whites. Colorblind attitudes like yours just ignore the actuality of racism and thus enable racism to persist. Recognize your privilege.

  • @xxxFxCK

What you just said is racist. I have no privileges. If you think I do, please, name them. I want to hear them. How am I fucking special? I am not. I get no benefit because of the color of my skin. No one has ever treated me better than someone else because they were of another color.

This is just made-up propaganda that was only true years ago, way before I was born. It would seem that if the white race isn't blowing your trumpet, we must be against you.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime You think racism no longer exists? You think white people aren't favored in any way? Individual cases aside, all you have to do is look at the number of POC involved in politics, in executive positions, in the entertainment industry, in the middle- and upper-classes - minorities are underrepresented in most fields, and it's not because POC are just inherently inept. Sorry I can't express sympathy for your white man's tears and cries of reverse racism (which is a myth, fyi).

  • @xxxFxCK

PS. I am treated differently than you because I am male. Therefore, with your logic and reasoning, I deserve special hand-outs.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime P.S. This is so fucking backwards, it borders on satire. In case you weren't aware, sexism also exists (unless you declare it to be propaganda of the past, as you do with racism). As a male, you are already privileged and have no need for more "special hand-outs." Please get off of your ignorant ass and educate yourself.

  • @xxxFxCK

HAHA. That is so pathetic. You have no idea what it's like to be a male. You assume that I'm given special privilege, when in fact, it's the other way around. Women are given special hand-outs, treated specially, etc.

Your problem is easy to identify: The grass is always greener on the other side. You view yourself as a victim and wear your feelings on your shoulders. This makes you believe that you're treated unfairly and should thus receive a hand-out.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime True, I don't have first-hand experience with being male. But we live in a patriarchy, which has negative effects for BOTH men and women while actively oppressing females. And thanks for assuming that I like to act like a victim, whatever that means. I'm not asking for you to hold doors open for me because I'm a girl, or to bow down to me for being a minority - I'm asking for equality. Even if you insist that it'll never exist, why not try? Why not try to change injustice?

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Ah, well I am a male, and I believe we do have privilege. I have the privilege of being able to prove myself and/or fail on my own merits whereas women are assumed to be incompetent because of women in the past. Your post even reeks of privilege. You are already assuming women get treated specially and given handouts because they are women and I am sure at least subconsciously you factor this into how you view women.

  • @damasta00138

Women do get special treatment. Women can hit men, but men can not hit women. Women get everything paid for. Women get special treatment... as though they're incompetent and weak. Domestic disturbances generally favor women. This is just a fact. You will never achieve gender and race equality by propping up people because of their race or gender. You can not curb people's ignorance with more ignorance. All you will do is trample on their personal freedom.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Amen to that. Compartmentalizing people based on their gender or race or orientation or anything at all, even positively, just exacerbates oppressive attitudes because it creates niches that all women, in this example, should fill. I think a lot of people don't understand this basic point.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Women are seen and treated "as though they're incompetent and weak". You're right. I'm a woman, do you think I appreciate this society's view of me? Women get extremely few advantages for being women- and they all come from the notion that I'm supposedly weaker than a man. Being seen as incompetent and weak, is supposed to make me feel powerful or grateful?? All, repeat: ALL, injustices between the sexes come from the fact that we live in a patriarchy-dominant society.

  • @imfantasyparade

Yes, but since I'm a man, I can't say anything about the unfairness of the situation because, as a man, I'm blamed for this. I'm looked at as an oppressor. I'm looked at as a prejudice fuck who's got nothing better to do than stick my cock in anything with a pulse.

Trust me, the grass isn't greener on this side.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime I'm sure you're a nice guy, but trust me, you need to educate yourself. YOU as a man, or YOU as a person aren't blamed for anything- it's not about you. You need to recognize that we do indeed live in a patriarchy-dominant society where males, especially white cis males, have an upper-hand in society, at. all. times. A change of that would benefit both women and men. But as society is now: Trust me, the grass is greener on your side.

  • @imfantasyparade

Are you a man in my country? If so, you're ignorant. I am blamed for a lot. The entire feminist movement is inherently sexist.

You think most white males intentionally use this so-called advantage? How is it my fault if a taxi cab driver stops for me but not for a black man? It's not. But what you want to do is push the black man to the front of the line simply because he's black. That's racist. Again, you will never cure ignorance with more ignorance.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime It doesn't matter if you use your advantage intentionally or not- your advantage is still there and you need to recognize that it's there. The entire world as a society benefits the white cis male. Its not even debatable. Your ignorance is enabling racism and sexism, you're just too delusional to realize it. I see other people have tried explaining it to you, why not listen? Education is a good thing, go read about the things talked about in this video and comment section.

  • @imfantasyparade

My advantage is not there, though. I was speaking hypothetically. Furthermore, you still have not justified pushing me to the back of the line, simply because I'm white.

The entire world would benefit if you would look after the entire world and quick pointing people out by their color. It's collectivism that is undermining the issue. You see people in colors (groups). That's because you're racist. I see people as individuals. Color doesn't matter.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime I can't bother with your stupidity anymore. Your comments are getting more and more arbitrary. Watch the video- your "questions" should be answered there. Color matters to people of color because racism exists. Ignoring racism further enables racism. And, please, "...pushing the white man to the back of the line" - what kind of alternate paranoid world do you live in? We live in a white man's world. Reverse racism doesn't exist.

  • @imfantasyparade Ah, but "reverse racism" does exist. If people of color in this country decide to "hate" white people because of the crimes that their ancestors committed looong ago (or hate them because they make more money than they do/are greedy, believe they want to suppress all colored people, etc. etc. STEREOTYPES)...

  • @pricelesskween91 'Reverse racism' does not exist.

Comparing racism against POC to 'reverse racism' is like comparing mass to weight. People uneducated in this subject think mass and weight are the same. The educated know that weight is different because it has acceleration.

Just like the educated know that being prejudiced against POC is racism because racism has a power structure enforcing it, which 'reverse racism' does not have.

You'd know this if you listened to her.

  • @imfantasyparade then they are being as equally racist as a white person that decides to hate a person of color because they think all of this one group of people have commit crimes periodically/are dirty/are a terrorist.I can't even think of "good" stereotypes.

  • @imfantasyparade It's sounds silly to say, but I think that if more people took science courses, then they would come to realize that race does not exist and our color differences are due to a very small amount of variations in our DNA (small when compared to the amount of our DNA that is EXACTLY the same). We just call these color differences "race", and that has made all the difference in this world. But we gotta move past all this white man's world nonsense. In the early 1900's it was a WMW,

  • @pricelesskween91 Being a scientist myself, I've met many racist scientists. There's the belief that when you know more than other people, you're 'more right' than they are, making you more resistant to examining your own prejudices.

EG: Scientists used Social Darwinism to justify racism for a long, long time. The justification used in this video (more pigmentation means you are more evolved) was an actual rationalization used by real black scientist.

  • @imfantasyparade

    -quick

    + quit

And you still need to show me that pushing the white man to the back of the line is necessary and is somehow not racist. You can't do that, can you? You don't recognize the hilarious double-entendre associated with your reverse racism. Again, you can not fix ignorance with more ignorance you ignorant fuck.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime Also... how do you dare looking for pity? "Im sorry women are treated as shit by society, but I as a man cant talk about it without feeling guilty and THATS just awful"? Thats like saying "Im sorry POC are treated as shit by society, but I as a white person cant recognize it without feeling guilty and thats equally bad". Come on now, check your privilege.

  • @xxxFxCK

PS. And I never denied those problems existing in the past. You're trying hard to misrepresent my position.

My point is simple: Everyone is different and everyone is treated differently. "Equality" does NOT exist in nature - never will. Stop living in a fantasy world.

Don't assume that white males in the USA currently get treated specially. I'm supposed to wear a burden of guilt around my neck for something ancestors did? Fuck that. And fuck you.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime FYI, no one's asking for you to feel personally guilty for being born into a position of higher privilege (white, male, possibly able-bodied or heterosexual or cisgendered). But denying privilege and the existence of institutional oppression is just ignorant and offensive. It completely trivializes any racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. that people might have faced by blaming the issues on just individuals, when it's in fact a widesp
