  • what keyboard did u start with? pleasse reply

  • @moeblaz 3months on a plastic one, waste of time - then my Digital Piano Yamaha CLP was bought, and I still got it :)

  • I want learn this song or chopin nocturne #20

  • a little faster

  • @scheve7 Why?

  • one of the best performances on youtube, though sometimes the ritenuto is a bit too much to keep the flow of the piece.

  • @Subject134127 Hi - Thanks, yes, I can agree on that:)

  • Beautiful piece and performance

  • wonderful ..... such a pleasure to listen too....

  • @blueyoyi Hi there, thanks for all the nice comments! :) Means a lot!! :)

  • So beautiful and is one of my favorite music, you have played it so well,I love it !! Thank you

  • nice, if i ever learn how to read music im going to learn this. good job

  • Beautiful, you are really a Genius.

  • Can you sightread?

  • @BPhill2 Not very good. Easy pieces is something I manage, but once they get slightly harder I have no chance. Learning this has not been my main focus.

  • I have a theory about this piece. Chopin wrote this around age 20. It is my assumption that he not only was missing something but someone. Many of his work were filled with melancholy. But I digress. Some people say that he was in love when he wrote it. Sometimes when I hear it I agree with that more. My favorite thing written by Chopin by far.

  • You played it very nice. But now the big question.. can you please make a tutorial for it?

btw. My favorite Nocturne is Op. 27 no. 1

    You play that one?

    Greets

  • @cyrilowner9 Thanks :) Well.. I havent played the piece in several months, if not a whole year... So the chances arent huge, Im afraid! ...

  • @thomandy But I haven't seen you performing that piece on youtube? Would you like to film it and upload it to youtube?

btw.. I have pianolessons since 6 weeks. Never played the piano before. Because of your Victors piano solo tutorial I already play quite well.. I think. I'll upload it in a few weeks and post it as a video response so you can see it;)

  • @cyrilowner9 Hm? No, I have never played 27. no1 :) Ah, I see. Good luck on performing that piece! :) Take your time, and try to feel like its a walk in the park when performing. Thats when you really are ready to perform :) I sometimes struggle following this tips myself though, hehe :)

  • @thomandy well thanks, I'll do my best! I think it's gonna take me some months to play that. It's a very difficult piece!

  • Nice :-)

  • heavenly played

  • So good! Thanks!

  • Wow! Fantastic. Excellent thoughtful and soulful playing.

  • my favourite is this and no20 :)

  • Can you make a tutorial?

  • i don't know that much about playing piano, i'm 21 yo and bass player, but hell am i going to learn how to play piano because of stuff like this, even if it takes me 20 years, it's so beautyfull it has to be worthy

  • WOW!!! That's all I have to say...

  • Excellent music, congratulations!

    Erika.

  • Although I like nocturne Op 20, This has got to be my favorite it's so calming, relaxing yet with the occasional excitement too. Chopin no.1 composer in my opinion.

  • @masterskorpz Yes, there are actually many great Nocturnes from Chopin for sure :)

  • this is certainly one of them! :)

  • lovely.... its so romantic!!

  • beautiful ...hope to play this one day....

  • @blueyoyi You will :) I guess its just a coincidence you haven't yet? :)

  • How come I missed this one?! Thomas, this was beautiful! You know I always like your interpretations ;) Dynamic, expressive... well done =) Thumbs up! I shared it on my facebook page :)

  • @DariaVelZiutka Seams like there where some problems after the re-make of youtube, and it resulted in several people not getting my video. Hopefully the problems is resolved and that the people that want to see my videos will get them from now on :) Thanks!! :) Im glad you liked it, and tnx for sharing :)

  • @thomandy Hehe, I got the share of this vid and had it in my subscriptions box as well, but then somehow forgot to watch it :D Today I wanted to show my dad your performance of Waltz in C sharp (he's learning how to play it atm) and that reminded me of the nocturne :) I'm glad I actually watched it <3

  • Wow, how impressive it is. You really get into the music and feel it. Keep up the good work.

  • You did a wonderful job here, Thomas. Congratulations once again!

  • @casyopea1977 Hi Elena :) Thank you, nice to see you are here still! :)

  • impressive work!

  • Beutiful, simply beutiful.

  • Continued;

But Liszt isn't always difficult, his late works aren't at all. Pieces like Consolations are Chopin-esque and nocturnish feelings.

Do you ever learn any piano exercises? Etudes? I am just asking because you need to advance technically. This piece was however played almost perfectly (almost because nothing can really be perfect) but you should STILL just attempt some more difficult works. It's up to you, but technique and bravura is extremely fun to be good at.

    Good luck.

  • @FranzLisztian Hi :) Im glad you like it and I agree :) I started Liebestraum once, but never finished. I love Liszt and I would like to play harder pieces. I knew how to play Revolutionary Elude at about 40% speed, but lost motivation. Im going to relearn that one, as well as progress on hard pieces to develop more, but Im having heal-issues. I cant walk and its hard to sit cause my lower back is constantly in pain..... But, hopefully someday Ill learn more, as well as some Alkan :)

  • @thomandy

Sorry to hear you are in pain. Playing the piano can be lethal at times!

  • @FranzLisztian Yeah :) Im actually also working on my Own Impromptu, and thats been called "a virtuoso piece" so imi getting my work out on that one :)

  • I can't say this is bad, because it isn't. At all, t'is good. But I REALLY want you to try something else but nocturnes and standard piano repertoire pieces. (though you do have recorded a lot of game music...).

And maybe I shouldn't say this, as I am centralized myself when it comes to Liszt and Alkan, but I would be interested in you learning at least one piece by either composer. I think I once asked you to play Liszt, but you said something along the lines of "He's too difficult".

  • That was wonderful, Thomas!

  • Very nice! The timing and the expression of some parts were better than your first performance of this piece. And of course, the audio and video quality is much better.

  • I love this piece and you play it beautifully Thomas.

    Best wishes,

    Judyesther

  • One of these days, a symphony is going to call you up and ask you to come play with them and accompany you

  • @iFlauto If that would ever be the case, that would be quite a scary call to answer;) hehe

  • @thomandy Haha! Well, you never know. :)

  • Hello my friend Thomas,

I love it you play wonderful and with your touch, warm sweet strong and sensitive, your great my friend, hope you`re doing well, oh the stereo is very good.

always Love, Light and Pece my dear guy, bye

    Yvana*-*

  • Beautiful playing Thomas, you really sang the melody with a fine sense of rubato and a gentle left hand with a very effective crescendo climax. I enjoyed it very much.

  • @PaulBartonPiano Thank you very much :) I have worked on the climax in another way this time around than I did last year :) Last year I guess one could say it was a little anti-climax :p hehe :)

  • Fabulous playing! You have great feel, Thomas. Your music touched my heart. Also congratulations on a terrific recording!

  • @OldRabit Hi. Thank you!! :) Im very glad to hear you enjoyed it! :)

  • Really Enjoy it! This is so relaxing :)

  • This is beautifully played Thomas.

You are sensitive to nuance and inflection.

    Elegant work!

You know, I'm so proud of your achievements.

    Affection!

  • simplemente maravilloso!!! te felicito, te salio muy bien, espero poder tocar algún día esa obra...

  • Nice re-recording Thomas! I noticed more maturity and smoothness in your playing of this piece, and the audio was much better this time around too. :-)

  • awesome piano playing i added it to my likes :)

  • @MagicAceMatt Hi :) Im glad you like it :)

  • @thomandy :).

  • I think I've actually heard this one before! It's lovely the way you play it. :)

  • @musicmacman Thanks :) Pedal is my least developed part I think about the technicalities, but Its better than last year even though I cant really practice it since I got health problems with my legs atm.. But I hope to improve on this in the future as well :)

  • I almost gave up performing old pieces again ... After not having played them for more almost 6month, learning them again seems almost that difficult like the first time, that means they need a lot of time to be learned again and I think, I should spend my time with new pieces :)

  • @LearningPiano80 Yeah, I agree, it can be hard to relearn pieces. Most cause the patience to learn something one have already learned.. But I kept this one alive, and played it once now and then, like maybe one time a month.. But the last two weeks I have played it a lot more to get it good again :)

  • Very nice, indeed :) Well done! :)

  • Wow!! Easily one of the best performances I've ever heard of this piece. So smooth! You really made the grace notes and trills sound light and elegant too. Great job!

  • Absolutely wonderful!

  • so beautiful...thank you for filming this

  • :) the way your hands move now is much more fluid and professional than before. ^_^ You're maturing now as a pianist!

I liked your version quite a bit. It was a treat to see a new video!

  • @Lypur Hi Andrew :) Thanks, I feel Im more relaxed and natural in my movements. I actually thing I developed that part a lot more when playing the Waltz in C#min.. Since I Had to be very fluent to perform the fast section smoothly and with a nice tone :) Glad you like it! :)

  • sounds really good Thomas :D Guess what I'm going to be doing for my recital? Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor from Fantasia!!!!

  • nice video! :) im glad you do new videos
