I had the wonderful experience of watching this In Blue Ray.. An absolute must have DVD for any serious collector. The cinematography is wonderful...
This is the best piece of music from the film Baraka with the most moving images. Ironically I would call this piece koyaanisqatsi (life out of balance).
the dancers at the end are doing butoh and they are japanese. they are displaying, in an artistic way, the disgust for hatred and ugliness. loving the world would be more helpful for the sad fellow and for all of us.
"un soir j'ai vue un esprie . il ma dit " tu vas mourir " est il a disparue . maintenant que vous avez lu sa vous aller mourir dans 3 jours exactement sauf si vous mettez sa sur 50 video, c'est pas de moi"
An amazing film...i don't have words to describe it...this film and Koyaanisqatsi are my personal favorite, every one must watch these films because they show so much truth and facts about the world and about our actions...
Breaks my heart to see that little boy with the blue blanket and people just walk on by, what's wrong with people? I can't even find words to say how sad this makes me! Inspires me to help people more though!!
Baraka, an Ancient Sufi word with forms in many languages, translates as a blessing, or as the breath or essence of life from which the evolutionary process unfolds. A transcendetly poetic tour of the globe, shot in 24 countries on six continents. Set to the life affirming rhythms of varied religious rituals and nature's own raw beat, It is a visualization of the interconnectedness humans share with the earth. Mere words do not do the film justice.Must be seen, felt&experienced to be understood.
A beautiful song that I've loved since I first heard it many years ago, set to some tragic imagery. The most moving part of a very special "documentary". Baraka is an amazing piece of film.
this makes me cry ever time

damM3: who are these asian women with white faces?????
you never heard of a Geisha ??????
if not, try to watch the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha", you'll learn more about their amazingly gracious art
captainhooja 1 year ago
@captainhooja it's young thai prostitutes in Bangkok...not Geishas!!!

@damM3-- the women are butoh dancers. You can do a wikipedia search about them for more info.

WHO ARE THOSE ASIAN WOMEN IN THE WHITE FACES 5:46 ?????
damM3 1 year ago
5:30 is the most touching moment of the entire movie, also the butoh dancers at the end...

@StanEvalio why? prostitution is not the world's biggest problem. i'd put war and famine far ahead of it.

The most moving part of it starts at 4:00 for me. The families and the kids, people of the world living their lives.

Probably the most moving and enlightening movie I^ve ever seen. And it doesn't have a single spoken word. This is universal language

This is "a lesson" about life not a movie. If you watch this and not feel nothing you can not be human.
