  • Atheist so smart but so blind GAME OVER

  • what? no year of The Avesta??? The Zoroastrians require justice!!!

  • @ThevanGoghBlues I'll check it out, but I doubt it's any different than most of the drivel that gets posted as a contradiction which isn't. I didn't really expect you to post one anyway. Leftists love to talk peace and love, but show themselves to be hate-filled, murderous, and responsible for the most death and destruction on the planet on account of their ideologies - and then blame those on the right. Afterall, Satan means does mean Accuser...

  • @conservativecanuck Looked at the video. Wasn't bad at first. I have to confess, the numerology differences between the pre and post exilic historical books is interesting, but not impacting any doctrinal statements and I'm sure there's explanations. I used to be a skeptic until I did some honest research. The video really goes downhill after that with the rest being just the same old stuff which have been decisively answered for a long time. Try the original languages - it also resolves much.

  • @ThevanGoghBlues Not much of a coherent argument I'm afraid. Lots of emotion though. Never said anything about Roman slavery or American slavery (except of course the Bible's mandate of the death sentence for man-stealing). See the Bible's rules for slavery were for this nation called Israel. You might want to check it out on an atlas. Not Rome, not America. And BTW, Israel was judged in the Bible by God for their sins, one of which was not giving their employees their time off - go figure.

  • @ThevanGoghBlues There have always been people in the world who prefer not to own land or a business to manage, but prefer to work for another. If you're not the master, you're the slave. If you're not the business owner, your an employee. The Bible has much to say about employer/employee relationships. For instance, man-stealing in order to make them a slave was a capital crime, punishable by death. All such relationships were contract based and had an expiry date according to law. Read much?

  • @ThevanGoghBlues Okay smart guy, name one contradiction I can't explain. I dare you.

  • I typically disagree with this guy, but not this time. Year of the bible? Ridiculous! Every year's the year of the bible - it's always the best-selling book of all time. It's never listed on the best-seller list because no book can ever beat it. BTW - top comments here are ignorant. 1. Bible doesn't support slavery - it regulates employment. 2. No one can be saved unless the HS draws him - so blaspheming the HS destroys the way to salvation. 3. If there's contradictions - name a real one.

  • Liberal Fascism is wonderful isn't it?

We don't need to know anything, we just need to hate, lie, tear down, destroy, attack, and murder anyone and everyone who disagrees - especially Americans. Because we all know Americans are evil racists, especially white Americans. We all know they commit all of the crimes but they hide the numbers.

If we tell enough lies, people will believe it. Nobody needs to read. Cent doesn't need to read the Constitution or the Federalist papers, just hate.

  • When Jesus comes back, I hope He executes this guy.

  • a year of the bible? isn't every year based on the bible. you know B.C A.D. our calendar is mesured by Jesus isn't that enough?

  • lol if you read youtube comments you'd think that the majority of the world is atheists.

  • @docj09 It's a sweet illusion, nonetheless :(.

  • @docj09 The majority of those who can write and use the internet are atheists. XD

  • How about the year of the Darwin....i think id be more attuned to that.

  • God forbid they succeed in dedicating a whole year to the bible! XD

  • The bible needs to stay THOUSANDS of years in the past. We're too smart for that now.

  • Cenk just hates Christians. He loves to be an apologist for all the madness and injustice of Islam though. Just have a look at his videos and see the position he takes depending on which religion it is.

He's just a fat, leftist bigot.

  • wow.

  • 75% of the country is Christian, 75% of the country is white. Why not make 2011 the year of White Supremacy?

  • see how petty this guy is?

  • Seperation of Church and freakin' State! Our government has far better things it needs to do than drag religion into politics.

  • Please Get Religion and god out of my government. Religion has already has destroyed so much in this world and created so many wars that it only belongs where it came from - Back to the Bronze Age and before...

Man Made god, Not, god Made Man - Save the world, send religion and gods back to the Bronze Age, Never to return - NEVER!!!

  • @stevethul1 If not for the Dark Ages, we'd be in space.

  • KashaiS... You are right, if religion would have not been in control back in the days of Galileo, Copernicus, Kepler, etc we would already be in stellar travel. As I indicated, Religion and gods have destroyed millions of lives and stifled our species to the point of "Stupidity". World peace would have already been found along with many other advancements of mankind.

Man Made god, Not, god Made Man - Save Brain Cells, eradicate religion and gods...

  • You know once upon a time people believed in Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Hera, Aris, Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hermes, Artemis, Hephaestus, the list goes on and on but all these figures are now regarded as Greek Mythology. I wonder if other religions will encounter the same fate?

  • the bible is the reason for most wars in history of the world...

  • Really? provide sources for your claim.

  • @lurasman Crusades.

  • @KashaiSakur I fail to see how the crusades is a source for claiming the "bible is the reason for most wars in history of the world".

  • @lurasman In the crusades the Christians went to war with the Turks(unfortunately biased towards the Xtians) and the Muslims, Jews, Pagans, all of them Gawdless Heathens. Because the Muslims had taken the Holy Land and the Xtians must take it back for God.

  • Wow its news to me to find out that most of the wars in history only happend during the time crusades.

  • most european wars, leave the asain wars out of this

  • No, it was balls...and having the balls to fight over who gets to read the bible...and who's balls the bible supports. lol I wonder if I should say anything else. I guess that's it. LMFAO

  • SO RIGHT!! AS THE LORD SAID::Matthew 10:34-35 (King James Version) 34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

  • @rockierocklover - Only if you take the Bible out of context. The bible wasn't saying he brings an actual sword, but because we believe in Jesus, Christians may even be persecuted even by their own family. In Matthew 10:21 -22 says "Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."

  • OK i know...i'm just wondering why are you telling me this? are you from the Great Harlot or any lineage (pentecostal, Assemblies of God, adventism etc.)

  • Oh I'm sorry, I figured it was just ignorance that you were spreading false information. In that case, my comment is just setting the story straight in case someone might actually believe your lie. Thanks for clarifying.

  • 1 Corinthians 3:18, Proverbs 3:7.......but do this (James 1:5).....

  • The Bible is absolutely right, one should not rely on the wisdom of the world, but rely on wisdom from God. Whats your point?

  • What is your religion?

  • I believe Jesus is the savior of the world and I believe the Bible to be true, I'm not too concerned with religious sects. Why do you ask? Also you still haven't answered my question, what point were you trying to make by quoting those verses?

  • i mean what it means....now tell what is your sect's denomination.....at least you say you believe in JC.....and thats good SAR SHALOM BLESS YOU!

  • So random Bible verses huh? I'm not with any denomination. But I suggest you be more clear when quoting verses and explain the purpose of doing so or people may misinterpret the point your trying to make.

  • false information?...you stupid blasphemer! read my first comment again.... :-P

  • Not going to get passed =]

And the Monotheistic Religions and their holy books...Are derived from Polytheism, more or so Celtic Paganism, Roman, Greek, Norse, Egyptian etc.

Ohhh, bet you! My Goddess gave birth to your God. FAVORITE STICKER, EVER!

  • You're very correct but dont forget many religions are also derived from zoroastrianism

Ahura Mazda will ultimately prevail over evil Angra Mainyu / Ahriman, at which point the universe will undergo a cosmic renovation and time will end.

Sounds like God and Satan doesnt it haha

  • That sounds pretty deep! ^_^

  • The real story is the Republicans want to rewrite the Bible to get rid of any Liberal bias. Go look that up.

The go look up Protestant_Reich_Church in wikipedia. In 1933 Hilter tried doing the SAME THING to his target: Jewish bias in the bible.

1+1=? (republitards will of course answer 3)

  • Seperation of Church and State doesn't exist. Just saying. There isn't anything in the Constitution saying seperation of church and state. No where is it even implied.

  • Pastors belong in the Chapels.

    Politicians belong in the Capitols.

And never the two should meet Columbia willing.

  • While I think it is silly to pass a bill for the year of the Bible, there are many things like this. We have an african american heritage month and many more examples. So it is not uncalled for but not really so important.

  • Every year in America is the year of the fucking bible. Epic Fail.

  • Why are there so many legislators creating completely useless resolutions while our economy is going down the shitter, we are at war in two nations, a large proportion of our youth are functionally illiterate, and we face environmental and energy crises?

  • Where not at war WITH any nation, it's worse were at war with an insugency & a concept (terrorism, both of which are much worse than being at war with a nation.

  • Um, where did I say we are at war WITH any country? IN != WITH...

  • my bad

  • It's cool, homes.

  • I am a SUPER DUPER proud to be a Christian Democrat. The "I AM" is King of all!

  • Sad to find people in the 21st century being proud to lack evidence for a belief.

  • Richard Dawkins book "The God Delusion" sold pretty well this year, so maybe....

  • Err... what exactly is the POINT of a "Year of the Bible"?

  • And please, don't get me wrong, I don't blame people for there faith, I just disagree with it. But when it is pushed on me and when I see people who I KNOW can be more intelligent spewing nonsense like this, I mean, c'mon. I'll tell you what, I'm gonna write a book, and in this book its gonna say there are 7 legged, purple flying deer in the woods, but you can't see them because they are magical, and you are gonna believe it, because my book tells you so. Sounds pretty stupid, doesn't it.

  • GOP = Christ-Tards

  • Marijuana year, thats what America needs.

  • While I enjoy smokin a bowl as much as the next guy, we all know how stupid most people get when they are high, and I am one of those people, smoke it at home folks. What we really need is a Year of Common Sense. Or how about a resolution that the government must be run based on common sense.

  • By the Treaty of Tripoli, America is not a Christian nation.

  • I love Barney Frank! Go Massachusetts!!! "Separation of Church and State..." Republicans need to get a life...

  • Porno day!

    We need that!!

  • WTF?

  • Year of the BIble...haha american republicans or w.e make me laugh so much

  • Bye, bull.

  • "The Quran doesnt get a year?"

What for? It's even worse than the Bible... Besides mohammedans get Islam day in Hawaii.

  • "Year of the Bible" WTF. Inclusively. I agree there are other issues to address.

  • this makes me sad :'(

  • Very bad proposal.

So what about people that do not believe in the bible? The fundamentalist haven't helped move along world peace, they just intensify the wars and occupations.

  • I have my own bibles, and I don't need some haint telling me when and how to celebrate the Bible. How about doing what we elected you to do, since you are not God?

  • Christians are dumber than republicans but put the 2 together and that is ultimate senergy. Ultimate stupidity. Combination of illiteracy mixed with mental retardation.

Could the root words conserve and retard mean similar things?

And very few, if any of the founding fathers were x-tain...most even publically denounced the bible as one of the most horrible collections of books ever put together.

    illiterate whores

  • Love the bible? If it passes, again....dedicate each month to a few books 6 months old testament- 6 months new. That would put Leviticus (serial killers beginners manual) about Feb. 2010. Lets make 2011 the year of horror flix like Saw.

  • God Republicunts are so fucking STUPID. Get to work, and stop wasting our time. Fucking morons.

  • The America that gave you and your family an opportunity to be a part off, was built on Christian values and God made it great for those reasons.Stop opening your big mouth stamping on the same God that patiently allows you to talk the mindless sinful crap that you seem to enjoy spouting on a daily basis. Stop pushing your koran!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I second that

  • This country wasn't based on christian values. You fail.

  • Fail what, do you have a brain? Then use it to educate yourself and wake up and then do the same to somebody else. Study the bible, then founding fathers history, study the English missionaries history.God has firmly placed His hand on America and Britian and raised them above nations making them great because they were built on the gospel.

These nations were once great nations now Christ is a joke in them, we bow down to almost anyone who is against Him.

  • What horseshit!

  • This is the level of intelligence that you have............no wonder America is going under.

  • By "once great nations" do you refer to the violent and oppressive British Empire? America during slavery? America during segregation? America when it was killing off the Native Americans? Too bad God didn't place his hand firmly upon the Native Americans. That genocide really sucked for them.

Were America and Britain actually "built on the gospel"? America seems to be sort of... built on the Consititution. And Britian, that's a sketchy story. But you're the history buff, I guess.

  • Truthshallsetu3 (btw I love your name)

Surely it hasn't just been the Brits and Americans who have spread Christianity. Look at what the Spanish have done for Catholcism in Latin America. Does Spain make your list of great nations, or must they be English-speaking?

In any case, it's clearly a wicked thing that the Young Turks are on Youtube and Barnie Frank's in Congress, and both are destroying America. But we can trust that God will turn around such wickedness, right? Just like slavery!

  • Yeah, because slavery it totally comparable to liberalism.

  • Slut4berniesanders (I hope he's your husband!!)

Don't get me wrong western nations (amongst others) who were willing to spread the gospel all around the world and build on it. Whether it be French, Spanish, English whatever, God promised the people nations in the old testament.

As you know England colonised most nations and off course Spain and France closely following.

  • god also promised that all who don't believe in him will be in eternal torment. And by the way, god is not to be used with a capital letter, god is not a person, god is an idea, therefore it is improper grammar to use a capital letter in that word.

  • god is an idea stupid.

  • How about you read exodus 12:29? You know, when "God" killed innocent Egyptian firstborn children?Killing groups of people for not following "His" way?Sounds to me it's ethnic cleansing. What's more disturbing is that kids are told this tale constantly as if it's simply just a "God lost his temper" type of story. Some passages teaches love & some promote violence. How could you base your morals on a book like that?Batman is more consistent than the bible. He never kills. Never!

  • Yes! Batman is better than god! And he has more books than him too! Actually thats an interesting point. There is more disparate information on superheroes than there is on god. Therefore we as a people, according to some posters, should bow down and worship Batman or Superman as gods. We actually know less about god than on any other subject in the history of mankind. And by the way it is the only subject that we can never truly be knowledgeable about.

  • They had few beasts of burden and so the native Americans lacked the antibodies to combat the new foreign diseases, Blame God for that.

Their isolation from the rest of world meant they weren't gonna have guns and steel weapons much less horses.

  • I speak the truth, if you don't believe me, do some research of your own, you moron. This country is not a christian nation, no matter how much you want it to be. Stop trying to turn America into a Theocracy, you lunatic.

  • Christian values??? I guess it was ok to enslave black people. That is what this country was built off of.

  • However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

    The bible supports slavery.

  • "The bible supports slavery."

And yet, being attracted to people of the same sex is an "abomination"? And they are "worthy of death"?

Also, "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" is an unforgivable sin. Why is this worse than slavery?

The Bible is full of contradictions, magic, immorality, and prejudice. I could never be a goddamned Christian

  • Amen! lol.

  • @jdotglenn

i agree, when i was young i use to hate gays with a passion cause my religion told so. i started to learn about wicca because i couldnt tell the difference between a satanist and a witch. its sad cause all a spell is is just a prayer. its hard to follow and is a very violent religion for one meant to be peaceful. im ashamed that i thought someone should burn in hell and endure torture forever just cause of their sexuality.

  • @jdotglenn

I'm Christian and I feel the bible is an insult.

  • @jdotglenn The bible also says Women can´t speak in churches or marketplaces! I always laugh at that one. I was raised catholic, and I believe in a creator, but I have no faith in a 3-times misinterpreted book written by greedy, malicious men to benefit their own gain, conning people into believing its God´s word!

  • @jdotglenn christianity is exists because people want to exist in some way after death. but unfortunately we dont

  • @jdotglenn The bible doesnt "support slavery" just because slavery is in the bible doesnt mean jesus christ supported it. If i talk about soccer all the time doesnt mean i support it, just as if the bible says something doesnt mean christians support it. Might want to study the bible and educate yourself so you can make a better argument

  • @jdotglenn You clearly don't understand context do you? Instead of reading BS atheist talking points and aimlessly rambling about these so called, "contradictions" you should actually read it and find out for yourself. As for you, "...never be a ********* Christian" That's not up to you (you would understand this if you knew ANYTHING about theology, but you are ignorant and will remain so because you don't care about truth)

  • @jdotglenn you better be whore there is no magic, immorality, and prejudice, contradiction in the good book stop being a bible hater you libreal bastard

  • @jdotglenn what verses are you talking about and maybe i can clear things up for you cause there is alot of things that the bible says that people get the wrong idea like unicorns there is a reason that is end there.

  • @jdotglenn WHAT CHURCH IS THIS?. NOT MINE.

Slavery. I know people that got off drugs becasue of God. You have your right to believe in nothing but darkness. But soon as you start messing with my rights we fight. MERRY CHRISTmas. .

  • @bossm109r "But soon as you start messing with my rights we fight."

Since when is it atheists "messing" with Christians' rights? Why is same-sex marriage is illegal, again? Why is Sen. Santorum is on the trail saying that birth control access is not a right? Why is there no sex ed in so many communities in the US? Hell, most of the people defending religious freedom are from the non-Christian minority...

  • Actually, whoever wrote Leviticus was trying to justify slavery, probably because they owned slaves themselves.

When will people who read the Bible understand that it was written by 'mortals', and thus is susceptible to their desires and biases as much as any other work of writing.

Also, it's gone through so many translations over the millennia, that nobody really knows what the original words were.

  • I think the main problem is that people have a religion that is based on a book which they have to make so many excuses for, and like you said, written by people. You can't pick and choose what to believe, especially if you want to use it to denounce people, as Christians are so fond of doing.

  • Comment removed

  • How about a year of inner peace and wisdom? Now that would be worth something!

  • Inner peace and wisdom doesn't sell so well, and it certainly won't sell any wars.

  • I counter-counter propose that 2010 be the Year that Weird Al Yanchovik kicks the living shit out of 'The Lonely Island' for acting like him if he was a teenager making jokes about testicles and boats.

-Slams hands on table.- I DEMAND THIS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT!

  • "The Year Of The Bible"??

Why not "The Year of Alice in Wonderland"?

or "The Year of (fill in the blank, any Stephen King book)"?

  • I could get behind a Year of The Shining

  • Year of Maximum Overdrive. well i know it's not from a book. but that one hell of a movie to watch.

  • So every since the separation of church and state the country has slowly gone "done" hill?

Would that be since the country was founded then? Since it's the first amendment in the constitution?

  • This country wasn't founded on Christian values, and most of the founding fathers were deists who thought the Bible was complete nonsense.

  • Jefferson even wrote his own Bible by taking out all the bullshit from the real one. And yet somehow the right seems to forget these facts...

  • China!

China has had the worlds fastest economic growth the last 20 years. And what about Japan? the robotic capital of the world!

And BTW the way, there is only ONE race, and that is the human race=)

  • videoorbit, I like how you say "we" in "We have tried to include everyone over the years only to find out you want to destroy it."

You're obviously a real inclusive kinda guy, I'm sure you can't help yourself from instinctively spreading that sweet interracial love wherever you go - not to mention the laughable nature, I mean deep thoughtfulness, of your argument...

  • So in 2010 they wanna celebrate all the bloody, rape, torture that's in the Bible I suspect. Maybe to make the torture thing just that much better in their own eyes?

Can we have a Year for the Atheist to? How about a Year for Celtic or Druids? Ugg

  • i don't see what that means 2010=year of the bible what does that mean, is it like the year of the monkey or dragon

  • If the bible was made into a movie, it would be classified as a horror film.

  • The Bible has been made into many movies, both old testament and new.

  • The United States of Jesusland does not deserve secular status, you are one of the most religious countries on Earth, it is actually quite pathetic to witness.

  • seperation of what and what?

    What country is this America?

    Not in my America

  • Just a stupid excuse to augment Christianity in American society.

  • 2000 should have been the year of the bible, an aniversary of 2000 years of bullshit

  • Technically 2001, since that's the turn of the century I think my old teacher said.

  • Year of the Inquisition?

  • year of no war?

  • If that passes through then I was 9 to be the year of the invisible pink unicorn and the flying spaggetti mosnter! Praise them both.

  • We should have a non-binding resolution declaring one year of the bible if it's agreed no one in elected office can bring up anything in the bible ever again and that includes creationism, bullshit against gays, and sex ed.

  • Year of the Pope?

  • Does he shit in the woods?

  • Let's have a year of no religion and if we survive the wrath of "god" we can forget about him/her

  • Nice man , nice.

  • I second

  • That's so crazy it just might never pass by the religious nut-jubs =D

  • The reason why they tried it was because they can say the Dems are against the Bible.... Therefore Godless evil people who should be smited.

It's really despicable that they are using the Bible to play politics, but a lot of Repubs are pretty dumb and wont realize they are being manipulated.

  • No kidding , it's like they think we care about the bible too.

  • I have no problem with the Bible...it's all the people who read it and think they have a monopoly on the truth that is just...not right.

religion is philosophy.... government is politics. Never the twain shall meet

    :)

  • fuck the bible.

  • Amen!

  • I counter-propose that 2010 be year of "Where the Wild Things Are"!

  • I wonder if there are many Bible producing plants in his district?

  • Can I declare the 8 years under bush & cheney the years of "Closetland", "My Life As A Traitor" and "1984".. ???

  • Am I the only person in shock at the current status of the Republican party? I mean, what the fuck?

  • you are dumb.

  • This is a perfect example of what the Repub party has become. Instead of being part of the solution, they insist on being part of the problem...With all the issues we face today the repubs are worried about making 2010 the year of the bible....? Who gives a flying fuck? I decalre that 2010 is "The year of licking my taint" So all christians...email me and get my address because 2010 my taint is coming looking for all of you...I hope you're hungry...

    Amen Motherfuckers!

  • Exactly,

Passing this won't do any good at all. It is just a waste of time^^

  • another facist that has never heard of freedom of religion or seperation of church and state. when will we rid ourselves of these bible thumping facist. they are just a watered down christian version of the taliban. glad i voted for nader

  • We are wallowing in the worst economic disasters of my generation on top of being at war...and THIS is what they waste their efforts on.....Do nothing but bitch about the steps Democrats are taking to fix these issues and come up with NO solutions of their own...but Year of the Bible...omg...can't NOT have a year for the bible....how devastating would that be?! *roll eyes* Anyone asks why the Republican party is in it's death throws, here's your answer...

  • this like on facebook:

    "The Bible"

    John Smith is a fan.

  • THE BIBLE ROCKS!!!!

  • Jesus would be pro torture. He would also own a gun and support the bombing of Iraq. Jesus spoke to Mrs California and told her that altering the breasts god gave her would be biblically correct, he said it would be the Christian
