Way do these Republicans always try to scare people by characterizing health care reform - the public option - as "government takeover of the health care system." The public option is not "socialized medicine" or "government health care". it's just an optional federally administrated INSURANCE plan. It's not government run hospitals, its not doctors as salaried employees of government - it's just an optional insurance plan. Better than insurance companies that answer only to Wall Street.
So what if an illegal immigrant buys a "public option health care insurance plan? Nothing is stopping illegal immigrants from buying an insurance plan even now. At least if they buy a plan they are contributing to the system. The "public option, under proposed law, operates on premiums collected, not government funding. Better than illegal immigrants using the emergency ward - the most expensive form of health care delivery - entirely at taxpayer expense.
Thanks for some truth on this important topic that Congress wants to ram through without the public getting a chance to see the bill that they are voting on. We better vote some more truthful Congressmen and women in next time that will work for us and not against us.
