Nintendo did 3D gaming without glasses with the Virtual Boy first, then with the 3DS. The Wii was the follow-up to their GBA games that had the gyro-sensors. It took Sony until now to create Move. Sony originally had the EyeToy on the PS2, but Microsoft followed that up with Kinect, which really is just an upgraded EyeToy.

The reason why the ds succeeded was because of it's simplicity, the same goes for the psp. That's also the reason why the psp go failed.
