Personally, I just tried getting the spring rign around the back of the gasket, and even with liquid soap, I cannot for the life of me get it to NOT pull out on the opposite side when I get it 2/3 of the way on...help?
On this particular machine the rubber boot fits over the metal rim. There should be a notch in the boot to fit over and under the rim if that makes sense. I usually apply a small amount or liquid soap in the notch to help it slide into position better. This job can be a real pain, stay with it friend you'll get it.
On the rear fitting can you explain if the rubber usually fits over the metal rim or under (inside) the rim. I trying to refit a new Simpson 45S710E gasket (boot) and I can' find any service manuals to say how it should sit on the rear rim? I think it should sit over it, but it doesn't seem to sit very nicely?
Thank you! Third video I've watched and yours is the first to actually SHOW me how the gasket attaches.
