Then of course there was an internship, where they WORKED brutal hours for little pay.

Some churches provide CARS ministries, where people give their older, but still usable car to the church, and the church gives it to someone in NEED of it. Or they have a CARS ministry, where a single parent, with limited means, needs car repairs done. Sometimes a church parishioner volunteer works on that care for nothing. Sometime the church buys the parts needed.

My property taxes are more than what some of these people will make in 5 years.

Or, about $1.50 a day for 1 year. But the following year there would be nothing more, as their businesses would be gone.

@yokey123 ALREADY doctors are quitting to avoid the new healthcare laws. Others are looking at early retirement. Young doctors or students, are thinking about getting out now, and avoiding the headaches, and getting into another line of work. Imagine a healthcare system saddled with 45 million more people, with maybe 25% fewer doctors. Doctors ALREADY are turning away medicare patients. Medicare only pays a fraction regular health costs.

Maybe you're not aware, that as I type, health insurance premiums are going up to cover costs that I might not want or need, but the government MANDATES they be carried. 85% of the people are going to be BURDENED because of 15%.

@yokey123I haven't even discussed the hours that a physician has to WORK. Maybe being in surgery as early as 4 am, and working 12-14-16-18 hours at a time. WHERE one "slight" mistake, can harm a person for life. Where 1/3 the fees they charge are for malpractice insurance, to protect them from people like YOU, that have a RIGHT to their services. Or maybe the phone call at 2am, after being up til midnight, for an accident victim or someones in labor.All while you work as a cart boy at Walmart.

@yokey123 Interns get the worst times to WORK and have to put in LOOOONG hours. THEN if they want to specialize, they have to WORK another 2 years in studying there specialty. ALL THIS WORK and they haven't made anything (or VERY LITTLE). Not to mention the what??? Half a million dollars they spent just to pay for the education YOU WANT FOR FREE. We haven't even talked about the continuing education just to KEEP UP with new emerging procedures and technologies.

While you were screwing off in school, a doctor had to WORK HARD to get good grades, to get into a good university. Then that doctor had to WORK HARD for 4 more years, to get good grades, to be accepted into a good medical program. Then that doctor had to WORK HARD for 4 more years, JUST to get a basic MD. Then of course there was an internship, where they WORKED brutal hours for little pay.

If you are in an auto accident, and are taken to an ER, you CANNOT be turned away because you don't have insurance. Trying to give them a new life and new perspective. Groups that try to meet the needs of family members while a parent or spouse is in jail. Groups, that at Christmas get toys together , so that inmates children can have a good Christmas. Or put together a Holiday meal.

Some churches provide CARS ministries, where people give their older, but still usable car to the church, and the church gives it to someone in NEED of it. Or they have a CARS ministry, where a single parent, with limited means, needs car repairs done. Sometimes a church parishioner volunteer works on that care for nothing. Sometime the church buys the parts needed.

Our ships provide HOSPITAL facilities that can treat THOUSANDS at a time. They supply desalinization for water for 10's of THOUSANDS of people. Our helicopters are doing S+R operations. Our helicopters are shuttling food and medicine where its needed.

When you take into account what the government takes from us in taxes, then gives away, THEN add to that the private donations of private citizens giving per GDP goes way up. Next, using GDP isn't an accurate measurement. GDP stands for GROSS Domestic Product. Gross is not NET. You can't use a gross of something without knowing the net. When it comes to government aid, I DON'T KNOW where it goes. Just like with ANY OTHER country, I have no idea where it goes. The best any of us can hope for, is that our governments make sure it gets to where it needs to go.
BUT, I can research where I give, to try and make sure my charitable giving makes it to where I want it to go. Part of that is being personally involved with the organization/s.

BUT, there is only so much I can do.The same for everyone else. The reality is, that it costs so much more to live in the US. I live in a middle class community, with an average home. My property taxes are more than what some of these people will make in 5 years.

If we took the combined worth of the Forbes top 400, and liquidated it. Wiped out all their companies and holdings, and could forcibly give that money to the poor, it would add up to just over $1.6 Trillion (About this years US deficit) But, 2.8 billion people would get $571 more. Or, about $1.50 a day for 1 year. But the following year there would be nothing more, as their businesses would be gone.

I don't have all the answers, to all the worlds problems. But I do know that just throwing money at things won't fix it ALL.
