He is big in trouble, he is in big trouble here...horrible..horrible..horrible...horrible, commentators said ..then the magical shot came and sank in..Ohhh Steven !! Ohhhh noooooo, what a shot!! I don't know !!! Ohhh my gooooodnessss!!! Ohhhhh boyyyyy!Hahahaha! The commentators rejoiced!!! One in a million magnificent shots from a humble guy! May the sports world will have more humble players too. God Bless you Efren. Thank U Efren for making this sport extra interesting to watch!!
What a great shot from one the greatest players in billiards. I can only imagine how many hours of practice that Efren has put into this game we call pool. Seeing him kick at this shot shows his skill level & practice time at the table. I practice everyday and can only dream that one day I can pocket as many shots as he does. Great video of a living legend in BILLIARDS!
@chavez4ever111 I wonder why people like U ( & Floyd of course) always think of steroids if a player plays in precision. I assume your family name is from Latin America, doesn't sound American.U can have boxes of anabolics before a game, but steroids will not help in sinking the ball to the hole. Why did people never think if Michael Jordan was taking steroids too when he was flying higher than those much taller than him? A player needs a critical assessment of his next move. He's gifted. x-(
this is what efren can do in his prime. no one could do this except him. no one even think of that shot except him. he is truly the MAGICIAN. and god of pool.
After years of watching this video, i still couldn't hide my anticipation the moment he aims for the shot and every time the ball goes in,my butt lifts from my seat as if saying YES!!! Only the MAGICIAN has this uncanny ability to create UNBELIEVABLE SAFES (even unforced) and ONLY HE CAN MAKE UNBELIEVABLE SHOTS from UNBELIEVABLE SAFES. This is one for the books folks.
As far as Mosconi vs Greenleaf, they actually toured together when Mosconi was younger and Greenleaf did have the early advantage in their matches but as the tour progressed things turned around and Mosconi won more of their matches at the end. Mosconi also beat Greenleafs record on the old 5x10 tables which was later eclipsed by Crane at 309, then beaten by Mosconi. The run of 526 was on a 4x8 table, he also ran 585 in practice with witnesses.
@notbestfriends - Efren is the most influential player and all time great... willie mosconi didnt have to face players like earl strickland, johnny archer, francisco bustamante etc strickland himself said that
this whole video was lyk a movie. efren is d hero n earl is d villain, u think at first d villain will win d battle. and of course d typical ending is happy
Jersey Red always claimed Greenleaf was better than Mosconi... Who knows?.. But I would tend to believe this generation plays better than that generation..
Those shots were not done by instinct. Efren's brain who had assimilated and restored so much shot combinations in the many years he was playing the game, might have even used the laws of physics he definitely could explain, to silence those who thought he made an horrible move only to be awed at the end. No substitute for experience and playing the game with passion and resolution.
Efren's PRIME was in the 70s/late 70s. People who knows him very well knows this. To be able to play in the US tourneys & get a US Visa, he had to use several names. He got the chance in the late 80s, a decade past his prime. But still he managed to make his mark. And boy did he made his mark. Imagine if he was given the chance to play in the 70s or even the early 80s. He could've ammassed more world titles. Look up "huge ownage against takahashi". This might be the closest Efren in his prime!
efren is great mathimatician in GEOMETRY..he knows the distance and angle from cue to the subject ball in short period of time...billiard is a GEOMETRICAL GAME.....
im pretty sure he never even practiced that, he might of tried it in the pool halls when he was a kid... but those shots are not the ones you learn and practice.
