Thats pretty cool. I turned my micro cesnna into a biplane, got a video posted. Are you using the stock lipo? I have been using these 400mah's that i found on ebay. Kinda makes the J-3 fly sluggish, but you get alot more flight time, no problems with the P-51 or the Trojan. made the Vapor and Ember fly faster. Do you have any problems with the parkzone motors? They seem to not last very long. I have switched all my motors over to brushless.
@mayi420uplease upgrading your stock plane is the most awesome advancement for hobby fanatic.. u can really notice the difference performance wise and all..
I bet if after takeoff you stayed in ground effect it would be more beneficial till u have a good climb out speed. GAHH And I really thought i was gonna be the first.
Ok I have this same plane and made floats for it as well. 2 questions. How big are your floats Length and Width wise and how did you attach them to the airframe. Second does your prop shaft keep snapping? This is the second time and i have two perfectly new props down the drain cause the part is now stuck inside.
Looks like it could use a little more power though...
I just put up a vid with an upgraded (power) J-3. I only did the mod because J3 parts are so hard to find, and it ended up great. I can imagine it would help you with the weight and drag of the floats. Power to weight feels close to 1/1 after the mod, it's easy and quite cheap + the bigger prop shaft won't always break.
