  • that was so good...great dynamics.

  • P.S. Good playing, but V-drum brains don't sound real enough. Get plug ins.

  • Question to all V-Drum users. Is there any sounds from the snare and toms acoustic wise, since they are actually not pads and have depth? Thanks for answering.

  • @Arnechk V drums brain sounds are crap. Get a plug in. I'm sure you know by now.

  • @TearzGypsy I dont understand what you are trying to say, but im just asking if they make any noise compared to cheaper version with only rubber pads. (i live in a flat)

  • @Arnechk Oh not midi sounds, but as in contact. Mesh heads are Def. a little more quiet than rubber pads, but very expensive and when you play w/ Midi & headphones you don't even notice the rubber pads much. At least I don't. If rubber pads are too loud for neighbors then that's some thin walls though.

  • @TearzGypsy My mind is set on mesh heads, so ill go with those even if they are more expansive... Thanks for the answer!

  • where'd you get the drumless track? solid playing, and swell choice on the drum sounds.

  • how did you record this?

  • great playing

  • a pleasure to watch.

  • for some reason the song reminds me of tom sawyer

  • @NotSoMuchPROs I can say the same! Maybe the guitar solo near the beginning, almost the same notes? I know where you are going with that thought though !

  • I have a td-20 and am trying to record some songs but I cant get the sound right. When I turn up the drums you cant really hear the music and vice versa. What kind of amp are you using? How can I get the music to sound good and clear and also be able to hear my drums along with the song? Please help!!!

  • you play great but i think you need a bigger drum set for this song

you made that little drum set into simon's drum set

if someone hear you without looking at the video i bet he wouldn't notice you are using that set.

  • i like the fact tha ur ambidextrous... a true philips follower! Cheers to that bro! i subscribe

  • Hey! Excellent Job! I was wondering if you could give me some information on how you executed this video? I am extremely intereseted in getting an electronic kit. My two main choices are the Yamaha DTXtreme III special and the Roland TD-9SX V-tour kit. How do you eliminate the drum track of a song? Can you do this for any song on an ipod or another device and play along to your favorites? Also, I have a macbook pro and was wondering how i could the highest quality recordings.

  • nice playing

  • nice left hand work

  • is he using a double kicker?

  • @Skankmaster90 most likely

  • Whats the best way to hook them up to your computer? I have mine going through a mixer but its not that great of quality.

  • nicee (:

  • pretty tightt

  • Oh so it's not actually Simon Phillips.

  • O Cara mandaa BeiinzZaÇoO

    ^^

  • ridiculous stamia with perfect rythm

  • Very good dude. If you played on a real kit it would sound awesome. But having said that it still sounds brilliant. Keep up the good work. All the best.

  • This music sounds like a whinny cat being swung around an echoey room.

...To some good drumming, Jesus though, what a bad song.

  • is this an tdw enabled TD 10, Your groove is incredible!!!

  • 6/4?

  • @farouqleftback

I can do that, I believe that it is called a shuffle rhythm or something like that

  • how much do these go for im guessing alot

  • they range from 1000 too 4000 dollars.

  • where do you get the backing tracks from without the drums to play along with ?

  • I admire you're open handed approach Dude!

  • LOL! I'm just sitting in the same chair right now!!!!

  • but you are still awesome lol

  • you need to put some verb on the snare and toms

  • Wow he owns.. Do you know how hard it is leading with your left hand? He does it like its nothing haha.. I'm 15 and I'm hoping to get as good as him :)

  • That's because he's left handed.

  • @ZildjianSeRG nope, that's called open handed playing. He's right handed but leading with left hand. I tried it too and it opens up possibilities on the kit.

  • @mikosoft No, He's left handed.

  • ide rather spend 6 grand on an acoustic kit tbh.

  • brilliant, water tight love the syncopated floor tom fill at 2:30

  • best eltric kit video ive seen!!!!!!

  • Flawless execution dude!

  • very nice!

  • very tight, great!

  • Rely nice

  • Great playing..........

  • he handles edrums pretty well :D nice vid :)

  • nice! i want some electric drums. I think this is a nice set.

The song is awesome it reminds me of some older racing games lol

  • @SilentSkys do you have ahell lot of money ?

  • @XXXstuppiXXX

I am not rich by any means but I could save for a while to get a set.

  • @SilentSkys this this set is pretty old the new v drums are better and awesomer

  • How come you use the gum rubber pads for all your cymbals?

  • i think some times they are more responsive than the original cymbals

  • that`s perfect... amazing!!

    keep rockin!!!

  • Wow, very good.

  • can you still choke the cymbals even though its a pad..??

  • Those pad are not able to be chocked.

  • Actually they can be choked by squeezing the rim.

  • @martinondrums omg thank you so much ! i have the roland td-10 drum kit with those pads over a year now and i never knew they could be choked. thank you!

  • ya they are i have the set.

  • yep

  • Sounds Like Sonic Adventure lol

  • do these make a loud tapping noise if i had headphones?,im behind 2 closed door would my mum beat the shit into me with these? XD

  • if you were behind 2 closed doors she would only be able to hear the bass drum for the most part.

  • ah, ok, would there be a way to quiet down the noise?

  • nope wut ya get is wut ya get

  • damn, oh well theres my chances out the window :P

  • well i guess it depends on what set you get, i have the TD-20 and my family can only hear the bass drum for the most part, but im sure drumsets without mesh heads would be quiter, you should look into those

  • yeah, thanks for the advice

  • No, mesh heads are as quiet as possible. The only other real option are rubber pads and they make more noise due to being solid.

  • dude u are to awesome for words

  • you are sick man props to you

  • solid shuffle man, good stuff!

  • I never understood why so many people use the cheap pads for cymbols. Can you still "mute" it when you hold the edge?

  • first, they arent cheap, second yes you can mute them with your hand, and yes you can have separate sounds for edge and bell of the cymbal. i love my td-10

  • I didnt mean "cheap" as in crap. i meant as far as other pads & cymbols are. I have some of the same ones as extra toms, i just didnt know why people used them for cymbols.

  • cos they have an older kit, simple as. the old ones came with those for cymbals.

  • Good job, man. Not into electric drums but you made it all rock like it should.

  • ur a legend at druming keep it up

  • thats fucking awesome

  • Sweet.

  • always loved that shuffle...where did you get the backing track..?

  • That sounds like a Billy Cobham style your paradidling is right on time. Good show.

  • man, usually electric kits give me the hibady-jibadys but that thing sounds great

  • nice and clean...love the open style of playing

  • hey man,

really cool.... :-) Where can i get this Playalong Tracks???

  • excellent!

  • Sounds great!!

  • Hey man....

where i can find this playalong CD. It´s great!

  • Awsome !!!

  • Hey I really like the way the toms, snare and kick sound on this.

  • 1:1

  • YEAYEAHEAHHHHHH!

  • te felicito eres muy bueno adelante con tu talento.

  • man that is so good

  • excellent!

  • where do you have the backing track from?

  • great job man!

  • Some great drumming there.

@ - Iuztrk - Simon Phillips is also lefthanded or is at least leading with it most of the time ;)

  • are you left hand?

  • the way he plays is sort of half and half

  • Could you do the groove for Pete Townshend's Give Blood - also by Simon Phillips, would love to see that one broken down and explained.

Or another couple of SP tracks 'Castaways' by Toyah and 'Out into Daylight' by Mike Rutherford. Thanks in anticipation.

  • very very nice, 5 star

  • amazing!

  • jesus would you look at the muscles on his forearms!

  • Vary profesional drum playing, also sound record is good,

  • dude, that bass line is quite sick...

  • OMG. pure skill :O

  • nice chops bro', you've got the lefty lead down, awsome double bass shuffle, very nice right hand moving around the toms and cymbals. you rocked this one dude!!!

  • this guy knows his stuff

i can listen to this all day

  • this guy can play!

  • the good thing of electronic drums is that you plug the audio out to your camera and it rocords from there

  • Actually I record out from the v-kit into my home studio rig. The camera does not capture any audio, at least that's how I prefer to do it. Thx for watching!

  • I want to download the track....where can you get it?

  • Bloody hell......that was awesome man.

  • that was badass love the ending now that was awsome ;)

  • Solid shuffle on the pedals, Martin.

Are you by any chance using the 'Simon' sounds from V Expressions Ltd?

Nice sounds and a great job.

  • Thx! Nothing special, just stock TD-10 sounds as tweaked to my liking. Wood snare, maple toms, and a bit of messing with the tuning, head type, muffling, room ambience, etc...

  • cool!

  • Great drumming! Greetings from Rimini! Marco

  • nice playing!!! =-) i cant wait to get these drums!!

  • very nice

  • Wow! This is really a difficult song and you do it very well. I too would like to see you do this on a acoustic kit, but regardless, well done!

  • Again you amaze me man!

Keep posting videos of your playing, cause you`ve saved my day with your amazing videos so far! :)

    Lovely grooving!

  • pro

  • awesome!

  • Nice job, I too would like to see/hear it played on an acoustic kit.

  • Omg, wow!!! Simply amazing.

  • Amazing!! Good work!!

  • Wauw! Great copying. Where did you find the play along version of the piece?

  • can you record stuff on these drums

  • Nice playing! Interesting, you using the rubber pads instead of the CY's. Have you ever used RET Percussion electronic kits?

    Great playing... I'm subscribing!

    -mikey

  • Thanks for watching. A lot of people ask me about the pads. The reality is that I got my V-Drums in 2000, and at the time they were the top of the line. They didn't make the new kind of "cymbals" back then. Not familiar with RET's... I'm doing a new line of vids with my real kit, which is my preference, so stay tuned!

  • very nice, super groovy.

  • u hav a great drum set, the only thing, i think u shuld get better symbols includin hi hat

  • BETTER CYMBALS? hmmmmmmmm...what were you listening to? This guy rocks successfully!

  • You are left or right?

  • sounds just like the original only on electric drums but the ending waz badass ;)

  • Amazing, very very interesting. You have a fabulous technique. I loved the opening fill and your shuffle pattern on the double BD, excelent timing. GREAT, as good as Simon.

    Congratulations.

    Abe Doron

  • Wow, that's a huge compliment, thank you. But I have to say there is only one Simon, and he is just phenomenal on this tune and everything else he touches. I do my best to mimic it, but there's nothing like the real thing! Thanks again for watching.
