From my favourite Hirasawa CD, though not my favourite song on it (I still love it). Maybe the CD would trend toward accessible for my tastes but... years ago, when I only liked it, I was stressed and playing it while getting ready for something I was nervous about. By song 4 I spontaneously started crying really hard. Shortly after I realised the CD's title translates to "Technique of Relief". ;) It just crawls under my skin somehow.

Nice visuals. I think I like the Byakkoya ant better.

His videos are so ridiculous and wonderful. If you aren't an avid fan of his music, I think it would be rather difficult to fully appreciate everything he does.

I dunno, I think it's the other way around. It's easy to appreciate the sheer weirdness of the videos, but his P-MODEL stuff has always been a bit noisy and hard to get into - although not bad by any means. His solo stuff is a bit more accessible, though...

I remember hearing Logic Airforce once, and just had to hear more; finally I got the Ashu-On box set, like two years ago, and there is rarely a day I go without listening to either P-Model or his solo works. I love it all, just astounding. His last three albums don't really grip me though.

I really love how experimental his earlier works were, I think he's kind of fallen into a niche, not a bad one, but difficult to move forward, I think.

Yes, for me his best songs are the most accessible moments of the most experimental albums. Nokori Girigiri, Clear, etc. And conversely the weirdest moments. Logic Airforce is a neat song! Nowadays he makes "easier" music, but it's still very strange sometimes, it's just that we already know what it sounds like!

Yeah, he seems to venture more towards pop, with such skill and unique instrumentation that's it's hardly such I think. I love the pieces in his discography where he re-composes older songs, like how he remixed Aurora for Solar Ray album by using bits of the song Heaven. By most artists that might seem a little conceited, to use one's own work like that, but he does it so fluidly it's just meant to be that way, it seems.
