Hey do you know how to get bome to send alt+tab? Whenever I try it, windows will just switch screens like alt+tab normally does. Any help?

No that doesn't work. I found a work around tho. It needs three translators. The first one is a button at 127 translated to a key Down action for alt. The second one is the same button at 00 translated to Key up action for alt. And the third one is the same button at 127 translated to a key press action for tab. It works out great.

I had a problem getting MIDI out from Bome's make sure you do the following

OPTIONS> Enable MIDI Through.

yeh sorry i just saw this. cool. theres lots of good stuff if you go into the ableton forum and search "bomes" too, i think. or midi translator or midi or something. sometimes that engine returns a lot of garbage but you should be able to find a few nice threads.

I got at least SOMETHING to register by using MIDI In as "USB Audio Device" and out to "yoke 3" in MIDI-OX but when I hit keys it shows the note and then says under EVENT: "Note Off."

Well I was and now i'm having problems again. I got everything to work for registering my controller by using the following settings: Mid -OX : input USB Audio Device. Output MIDI Yoke 2. Ableton preferences: Input USB Audio Device, Output Out to MIDI Yoke 2. MIDI Track All ins, All Channels.

Okay so it was working fine, i was able to trigger the Ableton internal keyboard settings, but now when I've switched tracks it's not working. Not sure why. I can't even get Audio HQ to work.

I tried shutting down ableton, then shut down computer and restarted. I'm not sure what I might have done. Audio HQ is just a program along with the Sound Blaster card i'm using or something [?] - and I usually check its internal "keyboard" to make sure I can get my module to at least register via some port. Even that isn't working under the USB Audio device when it was working perfectly well before. earlier i screwed up my computer with an error with usbaudio.sys and got a blue screen.

Since I'm not using M-Audio [although I have one of those and need to figure that out eventually, too], the channel I use is something called SB Live Synth. the biggest problem is, in order to figure out through trial and error I have to change the settings in Ableton, Bomes, and MIDI -Ox. it's taking me hours just to try each combination between MIDI SB Live Synth/ "USB Device" and in/out yokes to find what combination works in all these dropdowns between the three programs. This is madness.

I'm having a lot of trouble with Ableton. I had it all set and ready to go but had to take a break from my project for a couple months and now i've forgotten everything about how to make it work. I need to know how to set up an external controller AND how to set up your own keyboard to record on its own settings. I had everything figured out between MIDI Yoke, using SB Live Synth for either the in or the out, etc for an external controller and now i can't synchronize anything.

I load a "sampler" in each cell of drum rack and then drop a "pitch" in it. After some mapping and rearranging in sampler, moving the "pitch" knob up and down will change the sample. So you can get up to 127samples in each Drum rack cell. I'm trying to map the " up" and "down" keystrokes arrow to the slider on my MPD16(which i got working on win7 also hence what the internets is saying)...cantget it working just yet.

shit thats cool i have to try that thanks. you know how it goes, if you know it can be done then basically its just figuring out how to tell ableton and bomes so the three of you can agree on something. i have a set up thats me and my brother playing shit at the same time, him on guitar and me on keyboards. my always active preset is like four pages long but it always works.

When its all sorted out, I'll send ya the presets. All I want to be able to move a slider up and send a message for the up arrow keystroke, and likewise for down, BUT on the same slider. I did have to switch to the 30 day trial also, classic started bugging out giving me an FE message on anything I presses.

Haha! Ok! It's fine now! I thought I did something wrong. Thank you again! It's all right. I'm running Ableton with a guitar and a GI-20. I'm using a Roland FC-100 with the GI-20 to control Ableton. I'm having a problem to convert the PCs to CCs with bome's. Many patches on the FC-100 sends the same numbers thru GI-20. I'll try with another MIDI interface.
