Rod Argent is the keyboardist with the Zombies--fronted his own band called Argent, had a hit called "Hold Your Head Up High." Colin Bluestone had a successful solo careeer in the UK. The keyboardist for the Animals was Alan Price. The bassist for the Animals, Chas Chandler, died a few years ago. Chandler was also the manager for Jimi Hendrix.
@sumnerhill There is a brief clip of the Animals organist, I think it is Mike Rowberry? who replaced Alan Price after he left to form the Alan Price SEt
I couldn't hardly make out the Animals song GOD those screamers. I swear if I found out my daughter was a screamer like that in public (at a concert)I would slap her...how uncool. Guess they didn't have Riddlin back then
@VenusBlue4u That is one of the reasons that the Beatles stopped touring. No-one was listening to the songs. It was one long scream. Ridiculous carry on.
@pappatacio66 ERIC, HILTON, JON, CHAS AND ALAN, GREAT COMBO OF BRITISH DUDES WHO KNEW WHAT THE BLUES WERE ABOUT AMIDST THE POP WHICH DOMINATED THE BRITISH INVASION, YARDBIRDS ALSO WERE HEAVILY BLUES INFLUENCED UNTIL 1965, WHEN CLAPTON LEFT TO JOIN JOHN MAYALL
Burdon and the Animals were terrific...powerful moody singer and the band were always hardhitting. Paul and the Manns could play blues/jazz with the best but frustratingly stuck to pop ditties far too often...their B sides were great.
Was there any British Invasion singer cooler AND as good a singer as Colin? Okay, Steve Marriot, Keith Relf, Eric Burden and a few others do come to mind. But CB was amazing.
All live except the Zombies, who are lip synching and Manfred Mann, which is just Paul Jones singing live over a track - although it sounds like the mic in front of the Blossoms is live also.
WOW! THE ANIMALS!

I read alot of comments about lip syncing...how do you know this is true?
These videos are so old and electronics were not what they are now. Then the streaming to get to us, alot is lost in the transference.

That's what I was going to say too "god those screamers!" What's the point of even having the video?
This video should be called 'jungle sounds'...

The Zombies definitely lip-synched.

Eric burdon is the best singer of the british invasion. Including The Beatles and The Stones.
elgrenno 3 years ago 3
I gotta agree about Burdon. He had a great run but is not nearly as well-remembered as he should be.
