nice car other than the fact of all that useless plastic around the engine i bet if you took it out you could gain a mpg or to from 10 lbs of less weight lol
Same thing happened to my mom's ES this morning at the airport, she had to get a jump from a tow truck; its a good thing the battery is covered under warranty
I have 2007 Lexus ES 350 with nearly 40,000 miles on it. I was advised to buy a new batter 5,000 miles ago, but when I had them recheck the battery it was fine. At this last check up they said I need to have battery replace again. I told them I would later. Now I get message no key detected so I have to hold key up to the start button. Both sets of keys get same message to I think it must be car battery and not key battery that needs changing.
Dam man, happened to me today and i'm just looking for videos so I don't feel so bad lol. My car is stranded at wally world right now but hopefully this portable booster will help me out.
oh and btw wow the first time when u tired to crank her up it almost started and then the second time WOO SHES ALIVE!!! lol well be careful with it and dont let it happen again
For some reason it happened to my Avalon twice, the battery just goes dead for no reason. When I lock it I always make sure all the lights and accessories are off. Also, even though I have the exact same engine as yours, Lexus shields theirs way too much.
That's funky how everything in the engine is shielded. My jeep is the exact opposite lol.
This is puzzling, I can't think of why a newer battery would just go dead on it's own. It must have been a computer glitch that left something on in the car or something like that. Or an alternator problem, but once again it's a newer car so I wouldn't expect that. Oh well, car mysteries are what I love most about cars, other than driving them of course.
They do that to discourage people from checking the engines and working on them. Just like how the cars have underplates to keep them from changing their own oil and tranny fluid. Jeeps are for entirely different owners.
Nice car, but I don't like how Lexus blocks the entire engine compartment off with plastic shielding. I just like to be able to see and get to the actual engine and components.
well good tip unhook the battery next time you leave the doors open for half a day strange cuz it shouldnt have happened ive done the same thing in my truck and it always started first try i think with the miles on the car your battery is going bad cause no doubt it should have held a charge even with the doors open half a day
@blazerlover25 Nah, I have a new volvo and recently replaced the battery. The newer cars have a lot more things to power - electrically. The same thing happens to me :(
this is weird...my parents had an 2004 escalade and we had no problems with it...until i drove to a place left it alone and then 10 mins later it was dead like this...AND when it was hooked up to the cables it started right away unlike other cars which take a few minutes...did you figure out if something was wrong or maybe just a bad day? lol
It's interesting to see how a car with the itelligent key system and push-button start acts with a dead battery. Thanks for posting. Did you have to replace the battery, or did running the engine recharge it enough?
Anytime, I had always wondered the same thing! Now I guess we all know now haha, and this goes the same for all the other toyota/lexus vehicles with the smart key system. Running the engine fixed it, I drove around for a bit, since it just barely went dead from my leaving the power on it didn't hurt it.
First in! Great video and interesting that the radio, etc is not affected by the loss in power. Blazer my mom had had the battery die and the radio was "locked" until she could go to the dealer.
Thanks man, yeah I know, it didn't go completely out because the battery was still good, just got too low from leaving the door and power on. I've seen a lot of vehicles do that, idk if Lexus does that or not?! I haven't heard of them doing that.
The Blazer had a "theft lock" system that required a code entry to unlock the radio after the loss of power. If the stereo in the Lexus is not theft protected then it will still be good if the battery goes low or dies.
You are so lucky to have a Lexus Kyle. Also you must of felt embarresed because your car was so nice than everyones elses and it was dead

i never heard a dead battery go dead that fast if a car is a 2007... did you ever get the chance to get a new battery?
djflames24 2 years ago
Lexus don't have dead batteries for no reasons. BMWs and BMW Range Rovers have the "2-weak and the battery is flat and hard to jump" problem.
1bentley4ever 2 years ago
I meant 2 weeks, not "2-weak".

I bet you feel grateful that you weren't the only person there when the battery went dead.

You didn't say thanks to the guy who helped you jump your car.

how come u questioned 'is the batery dead'? and u said 'i didnt leave the door open' in the video and u knew the ans to both all along?
coz u wrote the description

The battery went out too early (especially in a Toyota product) because I had a 1993 Honda Accord on the original battery for 8 years.

They do that so it doesn't get dirty and so you can't play around with the powerful engines.

Pretty strange it's a 2007 car and it's battery is supposed to last from more than 30000 miles probably it's because of your new sound system Kyle.
