I am very happy to see the vidoe after you give this For her thesis at MIT, a student developed some interesting software for visualizing music collections: MusicBox.
Reading Anita's site, I don't think is going to see the light of day. MAGIX MP3 Maker 15 incorporates some of these techniques. I'm currently having it analyze my collection, so I don't know how impressive (if at all) the results will be compared to music box. We'll see.
What an awesome project, I've aways dreamed about visualizing genres of music and their comparisons but could never think of a way...brilliant execution, has a lot of potential, please don't give up! could be like a genre assignment program.
after i watched this video, my insight is very open because the video is very good to give information Mapping and visualizing music collections

To be honest, I don't know you but now that I've seen your work, I'm a huge fan! Can't wait this to come out! Need a sponsor? :-)

I am not the author of MusicBox, but check out the link to creator Anita Lillie's blog in the description (at thesis-dot-flyingpudding-dot- com).
I also just copied-and-pasted some new comments she wrote about it, as well as a link to those on her blog.
I can't wait for this to come out, either. :) Hopefully the publicity will help her toward that goal.
