  • Extra tip: Before spreading the spinach, I rubbed a clove of garlic and salt on the surface of the slightly burnt toast. It will have a very aromatic and delicious garlicky taste.

    Why did I do this? Because Chef John told me that I am the boss of my kitchen!

  • @DerfEater Heats it from the top, most ovens have one. 

  • hmm. I'm pretty sure that I've once heard that leftover spinach (from yesterday) isn't supposed to be consumed anymore because the iron in the spinach has been oxidized (or sth) through the day and it's not good and nutritious anymore (in fact it will be kinda harmful). Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Good Idea, I am going to be making a really special dinner for my family some time soon. It will be aged beef with garlic/horsradish mashed potatos (light on the horshradish) and creamed spinach.

    But I know that there are gonna be plenty of leftovers, Im thinking of taking this idea you have and making Portebello Burgers with Sauteed red onion mayo and this toast idea, but on the buns instead of toast.

    In my house that's arguable. Dad makes the delicious NOW things, but mom makes things that gets better as they're leftovers.

  • Assuming the "Chef" makes the original dish....Then the left overs are a great judge of his/her talents....

  • My problem is always: I can´t eat white bread at all. But I loooveee wholegrain :) Such great taste, so many variations, so healthy. I even eat wholegrain pizza. And this version with wholegrain should be great too!
