People need to realize that what you see on UFC (which I would say is the majority of people in the U.S. nowadays) is only ONE organization. So they have their OWN rules for competing. Different organizations allow different techniques.

Hell Pride used to allow kicks to the head of a downed opponent and UFC still doesnt. At the same time UFC allows elbows while Pride didn't. Its just a matter of where you're at. UFC is NOT the ONLY MMA organization on this planet!
