  • Don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory!!

  • @snbart

  • He is the Clem Portman of film and television scores.

  • You can call it the art of fighting without fighting.

  • An absolute MASTER composer! He is my very favorite. Composing for movies/t.v. is ultimately what I would love to do. I'm working on it. This man and his work, continue to be a source of unlimited inspiration. His ideas are incredibly powerful and intense. Wow! Peace.

  • OMG!! Absolute perfectionism.....especially at 2:19 when the main title kicks in. I just experienced a massive wave of adrenalin course through my body when this music was playing. I would have loved to have gone to this!

Schifrin was incredible though all throughout his career, but for what my opinion is worth, he definitely reached a peak in those years from '68 to '73 with Bullitt (68) going on to Dirty Harry (71) to Enter the Dragon (73) Beauuuutiful stuff! :o)

  • Lets not forget Bernard Alfred "Jack" Nitzsche (RIP)

  • Amazing play. Five thousand stars.

  • Mr. Han.... "you come right_out_of_a_comic_book!" XD

  • @rkmugen One of my favourite lines ever! Poor Williams.

  • BRUCE LEE EL MEJOR DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOSSSSSS LIMA -PERU

  • yo sabia q algun dia iba encontrar este video GRANDE BRUCE LEE IDOLO

  • I would like to admit, that I was one of two idiots who disliked this... I was trying to pause it and accidentally pressed dislike

I am gutted... this is probably the best (and catchiest) them tune for a film, ever...

    Sorry Lalo!

  • Not exactly the theme...this was the portion where Mao Ying was being chased by "O'Hara" and his goons...

  • Great Lalo Shifriin! Bruce Thanks you from beyond the grave! Jesus is coming in time!

  • I was expecting for the "Wataaaaa!" in the beginning of this music..

  • these guys did rush hour 2

  • Saw this live, made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. He also talked a little about Bruce, was amazing.

  • Thank for post this video and thanks God he is Argentinian.

    Alexandra

  • best theme ever, even when Lalo did the theme for Rush Hour 2 it can't stand up to this

  • Get his book off Amazon, it's amazing - growing up in Argentina (taught piano by Daniel Barenboim's dad), Dizzy Gillespie, all the movie scores, LA in the 70s etc. Great read! It's called (dun dun dun) Mission Impossible.

Thanks for posting this great clip btw, I queued for four hours to get a ticket on the day for this amazing, once-in-a-lifetime show. God bless you for capturing this moment of it for us.

  • Going to see him tonight - can't wait, looks amazing...

  • Me too, cant wait now.

Actually, hes on in 45 minutes! Better get a move on......

  • Lalo Schifrin is like Oscar Peterson & Art Tatum to me!

  • Extraordinarily fantastic sound fidelity

    Bravo! Excellent recording!

  • the man!.you should hear tokyo ska paradise' version of this, its awesome:)

  • LALO SCHIFRIN = LEGEND! Arguably the greatest ever action movie / thriller music composer. Close to him are Roy Budd, Jerry Goldsmith (RIP) and Michael Kamen (RIP).

  • @Banner1979 Agreed, but let's not forget Ennio Morricone.

  • @gstaadt That's right. He changed the face of western music with the unique scores he did for the Dollars trilogy as well as Once Upon A Time In The West.

  • @Banner1979 He is up there with my favorites definatly.

  • @Banner1979 100% agree

  • I went to this barbican concert, wish they had made a dvd. A rare privilege to see Lalo, he got heavy on the piano that night too. Top score from one of my favourite films...

  • Amazing. A true legend

  • Lalo Schifrin also wrote the theme song to Kellys Heros , Mission Impossible , Mannix , Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee and a number of Clint Eastwood movies . Hes written so many movie scores I cant even begin to remember them all . He is that good . No one has even come close to his acheivements in music for film yet hardly anyone knows this powerhouses name .

  • especially great at the (2:11) main theme.

    Now that's a theme!

  • 'heavenly glory' lol

    and also "emotional content" BL

I agree Drunkenmaster Lalo is incredible composer, Lalo and Basil Poledouris (epic Conan the Barbarian score) are my favourite 2, as well as Conti, Goldsmith, Barry, Hayes and Morricone!
