if you mean Bruce didnt get to see Enter The Dragon, dont worry my friend...he seen it before he died, before it was released publicly...and he was very happy :)
An absolute MASTER composer! He is my very favorite. Composing for movies/t.v. is ultimately what I would love to do. I'm working on it. This man and his work, continue to be a source of unlimited inspiration. His ideas are incredibly powerful and intense. Wow! Peace.
OMG!! Absolute perfectionism.....especially at 2:19 when the main title kicks in. I just experienced a massive wave of adrenalin course through my body when this music was playing. I would have loved to have gone to this!
Schifrin was incredible though all throughout his career, but for what my opinion is worth, he definitely reached a peak in those years from '68 to '73 with Bullitt (68) going on to Dirty Harry (71) to Enter the Dragon (73) Beauuuutiful stuff! :o)
Get his book off Amazon, it's amazing - growing up in Argentina (taught piano by Daniel Barenboim's dad), Dizzy Gillespie, all the movie scores, LA in the 70s etc. Great read! It's called (dun dun dun) Mission Impossible.
Thanks for posting this great clip btw, I queued for four hours to get a ticket on the day for this amazing, once-in-a-lifetime show. God bless you for capturing this moment of it for us.
LALO SCHIFRIN = LEGEND! Arguably the greatest ever action movie / thriller music composer. Close to him are Roy Budd, Jerry Goldsmith (RIP) and Michael Kamen (RIP).
@gstaadt That's right. He changed the face of western music with the unique scores he did for the Dollars trilogy as well as Once Upon A Time In The West.
I went to this barbican concert, wish they had made a dvd. A rare privilege to see Lalo, he got heavy on the piano that night too. Top score from one of my favourite films...
Los invito a escuchar este tema y otros éxitos en RADIO EL ARGENTINO, emisora en internet con la mejor música argentina de todos los tiempos. Tipee en Google RADIO EL ARGENTINO e ingresará a una nueva forma de escuchar radio
Lalo Schifrin also wrote the theme song to Kellys Heros , Mission Impossible , Mannix , Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee and a number of Clint Eastwood movies . Hes written so many movie scores I cant even begin to remember them all . He is that good . No one has even come close to his acheivements in music for film yet hardly anyone knows this powerhouses name .
I was there. To be honest mostly for this particular piece and it was amazing. The place went mental at the end. Stunning stuff and a privilege to see Lalo in action.
I agree Drunkenmaster Lalo is incredible composer, Lalo and Basil Poledouris (epic Conan the Barbarian score) are my favourite 2, as well as Conti, Goldsmith, Barry, Hayes and Morricone!
