Almost everyone who's posted a comment has disregarded the other 2 members of the band. Don't get me wrong, Jojo is amazing and my favorite drummer EVER, and I could listen to this song as just the drums, but seriously, if you're gonna post a comment, atleast reference the other 2 guys, cause this performance was amazing. I wish Jojo played with them more.

Call me crazy, but if I was a music promoter,I'd try to get these guys on tour with Dave Matthews..the fans appreciate Beauford..Sokal could sit in for Leroi,it would be cool to expose them in front of a big audience..bring some cool music to the forefront.Otherwise they should just tour like crazy,people should be exposed to this,its goooddd!! You know, I realised that when I read my post the day after. It was kind of late and I just felt like posting something with which to express my joy over Jojo:P. Hereby I take it back. Of course taste and any art is art alone and not competition. He just keeps amazing me and for me personally that doesn't happen to me that much in music these days.

Jojo Mayer, is way better than Joey From Slippknot... Joey is just all about drumming fast and Loud. Jojo trys to be the best musican he can be. He's always trying new textures with his abilities.

Nope. He is right. Jazz is about the subtle aspects of music. Pushing the time forward, pulling it back, building a sense of tension, and then effecting a release of this tension. Sorry kids, it's not all about playing paradiddles at 180 BPM. Wish it were that simple. There is technique, then there is musicality. A large number never cross that boundary.

Yeah, but only if the "musician" thinks to himself / herself "Hey, these paradiddles really make an expressive statement within the confines of this tune, in this time, and helps move the song in t he direction it was intended to move". Just playing them so all the other drummers in the house will get a nut off over your paradiddle prowess is worthless.

Uh oh...the next comment may be someone saying Flea is better than Kaenzig! But to turn things back to reality for a moment, Kaenzig was the real surprise on this album - really tremendous playing. I am well aware of Harry's playing and subsequently of Jojo's but I never knew Kaenzig was such a wonderful player. He and Mayer are a real dream team.

Totally awesome - I've just ordered the cd. What a trio! Harry Sokal is a genius, absolutely on par with anyone (Liebman, etc.) - hope some day to see you guys in NYC. Been fan ever since seeing you with Gulda.
