  • I do not understand why none of the articles you find about Woody's Truck Stop mention Larry by name. I remember a great show at TLA on South St. and I am sure that Larry was part of that lineup but as far as any bio of the band goes, it's loke he never existed. I saw Good News several times -- I can remember ALL the words to "New Wine In Old Jugs" -- not really a difficult feat.

  • larry gold is a badass. He has arranged pop music strings - from kanye to Kelly clarkson.

  • Larry you are one of the greatest, and I will always look up to you.

  • Yes, he played cello & did some backing vocals in Good News.

They also played the original Electric Factory & 2nd Fret in Philly.

  • Did Larry Gold used to sing with Michael Bacon in a "group" called Good News. I am sooooooooooooo trying to find their album. I saw them a the Main Point in, I think, Malvern Pennsylvania many years ago.

  • This is the first I've seen or heard of Larry Gold since the '60s when I'd see Woody's Truck Stop at the Trama and the Electric Factory. How did he get so old, while I still look 19!? ;-) One of my girl friends knew him in high school too.

  • I went to high school with Alan Miller, who was in Woody's Truck Stop. They were a great group.
