  • Sick guitar I want so bad! And no they did not stop making them. If your guitar does not have the "seven" inlay then it is not Mick's signature model.

  • How does this gutar play? is it straight up like an acoustic? And when you plug it on??

  • Very ... Viking ! (Y)

  • AWSOME today my teacher bought her guitar .........i was like wtf!!! it was Ovation Mick Thompson Signature !! i've tried it it's cool!

  • What song?

  • I wonder what Mick Thompson would say if he sees what this guy is playing on his signature guitar :)

  • Comment removed

  • I JUST GOT THIS GUITAR AND THE INLAYS DONT SAY SEVEN ON IT I THINK THEY DONT MAKE THEM ANYMORE MINE IS JUST BLANK.I DID WANT THE SEVEN INLAYS ON IT BUT I THINK THEY DONT MAKE THEM ANYMORE. THAT SUCKS. BUT THE GUITAR SOUNDS AWSOME.

  • @092275erik you can buy them on Ebay type in Ibanez inlay and you should find them. Get back to me if you do or don't find them to make sure.

  • Could you post tabs or where I could find them?

  • What string gauge does it come with?

  • sounds way to happy to be played on mick thomsons guitar lol

  • what song is dis? i wanna play it :P

  • @drumskater337 its an Irish reel there's fuck a load trust me i live there :P

  • what song is this?

  • just using standard tuning

  • What tuning are you using?

  • @SlipknotHeadless just using standard tuning

  • That is a very very nice guitar :) well played

  • Can i ask how much was it?

  • @Bubblemaker0 $649 from guitar center and you can even buy it online :P

  • Nice. Gotta say, I've never seen an acoustic with 23 frets before lol.

  • Nice guitar, but what is seven supposed to mean, and why put that on the fretboard. Not metal.

  • @JamesGod08

mick is number seven out of the nine members of Slipknot.

i'm not a big fan of those inlays either but, well, it's a signature model.

  • @shiokarashi I guess he's number 6 now lol :P

  • @JamesGod08 since when does personal preference on a signature guitar have anything to do with metal? i thought it was about the music... and whats with your comment about "I guess he's number 6 now lol :P" are you trying to be funny or something? your clearly referring to the death of paul gray and disrespecting the dead is in no way funny.... grow up.

  • @JamesGod08 cause its like mick thompsons thing or sumthin. ask him. he designed it.

  • @drumskater337 thanks genius

  • I'd buy this guitar if it didn't have 'seven' written across the front of it.

  • @Hornfinger

    same

  • nice vid can i have the tabs

  • dude i have a really important question, ive played the super thin series by ovation and just feel incredible, and also one of my biggest problems with acosutic guitars is how far the strings are from the fretboard... do the strings separate just like any other acosutic guitar? and also compared to the super thin ovation guitars how would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10 whether its comfortable or not?

  • is the neck removable? and is it like an eletric

  • im pretty sure its eletric bro, theres no opening in the guitar lol, im sure its hooked up to an amp

  • its an acoustic/electric, it has smaller sound holes at the top unlike the classic one sound hole in the middle

  • There are soundholes, and they aren't even hard to spot.

  • ah ok, I had never seen soundholes like the ones on this acoustic, only reason why I figured it was electric

  • all ovation guitars have that style of holes

  • @Dreamscapevirus not all, only the "elite" series. i have an ovation with a center sound hole.

  • its a signiture series acoustic guitar - its not neccicarily going to be ordinary ^^

  • the neck isent removeble no, and yes the neck is from an electric

  • no he didn't!!

  • @ArtWithRob I guess he doesnt realize what you meant and its only because I was explicit in what I said that he went off on me and not you eh?... dipshit aint he?

  • mick plays this guitar for their new song "snuff" off of the All Hope Is Gone album.

  • @nickg13

incorrect. this guitar wasn't designed until recording of AHIG was complete. he endorses it proudly, as he should because its an awesome guitar, but he hasn't recorded anything with it.

he did use an ovation acoustic electric, but this signature wasn't officially in production until recording was over.

  • o, i was unaware. well i'm sure he probably uses it for their live shows. if snuff is on the set-list.

  • actually, i don't think he does. any live vid i've seen of Snuff, he plays on his Ibanez guitar.

  • he used it for vermillion part 2. But i think it was a prototype

  • i could be mistaken, so no need to bash If I am, but I believe it was just one of Ovation's guitars that he later modeled his signature guitar from. could be mistaken, but I do remember reading him using Ovation acoustics for Vol. 3's recording.

  • I love the little riff you were playen... What is it? Awsome guitar too...

  • epic guitar

  • @indiantaco32

right on, Ovations are the best "non traditional" guitars in the world. And in some areas it may seem taboo to use these, but they're glorious...almost as good as high end Martin, Taylors & Takamine 'Natural' unplugged, but Ovations smoke them all plugged in...just scored the Elite 2078TX, holy crap...amazing

  • How do you know?

  • where did you bouhgt it?

  • Comment removed

  • Nice. I'm considering getting this. I'm not sure though, as i heard it has a real electric feel to it. Would you say that it still feels like your playing an acoustic guitar, or does it feel like an electric?

  • I would say this guitar is like playing an acoustic guitar with the best parts of an electric (Jumbo frets and a narrow neck)

The only thing about the guitar is some people love it and some people hate it. personally im a fan. i find it a very easy guitar to play with a great sound plugged or unplugged. But you would be best off to try one in a shop before you buy.

  • This is a pretty good guitar. I bought it last week, and so far it feels like it was a great buy. It definitely has a learning curve to it though. One of my buddies, who is normally great on acoustics, can't get it to ring properly. But others seem to work well with it too.

  • i'm not sure

  • i love the song how is called or is original ?

  • The song is called king of the fairies and was origionally recorded by a band called ''Horslips'' and is played using mostly Violins.

  • thanks :D

  • @markp1234567 king of the fairies... on a mick thompson guitar... SACRILEGE!!! how can you play something so.. on mick's guitar to let everyone know what it sounds like? gah grow some balls.. its mick thompsons signature we are talking about

  • Why don't you put your own video up then and show me how its done you jackass.

  • @markp1234567 oh lets see.. I dont own one or a camera..

  • @jaratt85 then shut the hell up

  • @markp1234567 LMAO

  • @markp1234567 grow some balls and stop playing faggy ass music on one of the worlds leading metal guitar players signature guitars and I will

  • @jaratt85 PWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BITCH

  • @jaratt85 What did you want him to play since it's Mick Thomson's signature guitar? Some open chugs? Please.

  • @clanleader500 I already answered that

  • @jaratt85

Jaratt is right:P play something dark and painfull :) It's a freaky guitar, not a gay guitar:P

  • @nirrox or at least metallica or tantric or something

  • @jaratt85

In other words, something DEEP! :) Something that speaks to people painfully.

  • @jaratt85 lol whats he supposed to do chugging and pinch harmonics on an acustic?

  • @TheCr0wing Fade to Black would work.. theres plenty of songs he could do other than this.. and considering its an accoustic electric designed for ppl that are more lead electric style players (if you dont believe me watch the vid about it) Id say yes you could play fast on it

  • @jaratt85 idk its meant to sound good plugged in more than anything i have an ovation slipknot does a few acustic songs with just strumin basically

  • @TheCr0wing see.. but what about other songs to play rather than this thatd showcase the music of the signature artist or his style rather than....??

  • cool guitar what kind of material is it like wood or plastic i am also trying to get one and cool song

  • i heard it is spruce or something

    not sure

  • I'VE BEEN LOOKING ALL OVER FOR ONE OF THOSE!! Where'd you find it?

  • I got mine when it was just out in guitar village, But seen as they are limited edition id say they are hard to find now, i just checked out ebay and they have a few of them one even comes with a free hardshell case, i never got one with mine lol.

  • Sam ash music has them.

  • im surprised mick would want a custom ovation.

  • Is this model a mid bowl depth or a deep bowl depth Ovation limited series, can't get the specifics on this one?

    Thanks...

  • Nice man! I didn't know he had this one too :)

  • o shit - he has this out ? lol

nice what much did this cost u ? ( dollars - canada )

and do u know how much his signature ibanez cost ?

  • his mtm model costs $1500 mtm2 is 600

  • very pirate like song =]

  • hehe

  • how much was it and where did you buy it?

  • Are you playing that through an amp? Whats the sound like without an amp and with an amp?

  • The video is without an amp.

The sound is very good through amp as well.

    But i Prefer Unplugged.

  • Thanks for quick reply. Wow - that sounds really nice. I really rate Ovation, and I'm considering getting one. The Mick Thompson really caught my eye, and I've wanted to know about soud quality - great video, thanks.

  • those look really awesome

  • just picked up this guitar.. its really nice worth the money

  • Hey Mark, how much did u pay for this guitar?

theres a sale going on at my local store, wondering if i should get this..

    KTHANKS!

  • is the neck profile good on that? I gotta admit it turned my head when i heard it had a thin neck. I liek flat thin necks on any guitar. Tha's why i use ibanez.

  • Yes It is much thinner than a standard acoustic neck. Takes a bit of getting used to but is you play ibanez you shouldnt have any trouble with it.

Really great guitar and it is set up especially for an electric guitar player.

  • She sounds good man. I don't usually go for the elites because they dont have the bottom sound hole. I have an ovation celebrity and it has a sound hole on both the bass and treble sides of the body. I was going to buy the MT37 but sided with the CC44 celebrity instead.

  • CC44 is a sweet guitar. i think i picked the MT37 for the bassier tones as i play alot of metal music. if you would like to hear anymore of the MT37 please ask and i will post a new video.

  • I'd just like to hear some open chords on it if it's not too much trouble. It's a very beautiful sounding guitar. I love it.

  • ya thats no problem ill post up something in the next couple of days and contact you to let you know.

  • where did you get that guitar? i want it.

  • Shop around online for the best deal. i have seen the prices rang alot between 700 dollars to 1100 dollars. The name of the guitar is the ''ovation MT37''

  • nice guitar. I'm really thinking bout getting one.

  • you won't be disappointed. great guitar no let downs at all.

  • lol you kinda look like serj from system of a down

  • Lol i dont know if that is a complement or not.

    Lol

  • dude he does XD

  • how much?

  • paid about €650 online new seems to have gone up to about €900 recently though

  • How does it play? Is the neck fast?

  • Very fast neck it is a similar neck to an electric.Best acoustic iv ever played great action too.Plus you get jumbo frets as well really nice on an acoustic.
