Getting Halladay is big for us, and will make the rest of the NL piss down their legs, but Unfortunately, it looks like it is going to cost us Cliff Lee it appears :-( I don't know why the Phils can't keep Lee at least one more yr--he was so great for us last season, and he's a stud at the plate too!

So, you still think Halladay will get # 33?

I think you're about to be disappointed when the Red Sox trade Clay Buccholz and Casey Kelly to Toronto for Roy Halladay. He'll be pitching at Fenway Park for the next 6 years after he signs a 5 year 100 million dollar extension.

I guess you'll have to look at John Lackey or Joel Pineiro as a consolation prize!.

No need to! You traded away Cliff Lee for Halladay! Talk about kissing your sister! You traded away your ace to get arguably a better regular season ace, but someone with no playoff experience! Boston added Lackey for NOTHING! I'll take Lackey, and not have to give up anything, over adding Halladay and losing Lee. Is it an upgrade for Philly? Sure! But you added the best and lost a top 10 pitcher! Boston added a top 20 pitcher and gave up NOTHING! Halladay should dominate in the NL though. No DH

It's working out great! We got Lackey for nothing, and kept Buccholz, while you traded away Cliff Lee and got Halladay! Sure, Roy is an upgrade over any pitcher in baseball, because I believe he's the best at the moment, but it is like moving up from a Lamborghini to a Ferrari. You still have a top 10 pitcher, but how much have you really improved? Boston added Lackey without giving up anything. They went from a Camry to a Porsche! Halladay will own in the NL for sure though.
