I used to either to try to make someone realise it's all opinion or because I wanted to troll someone. Well, for alot of people there is that ego boost. They see what they enjoy as an extension of themselves. "Attacking" their enjoyment offends them because of that mentality they hold.

in my oppinion, bits affects the graphics / texture of the game.

Consoles that i knew of that had these amount of bits in their processor.

8 bits= NES and SEGA. 16 bits= SNES & SEGA GENESIS.

32 bits= SEGA SATURN, PS1

64 bits = N64

128 bits = SEGA DREAMCAST, PS2

Still unsure & figuring out how much for xbox(original) & GC.

Also unsure about today's consoles since they don't seem to use the term bit anymore, to reveal the full potential of the system.

Graphics are still 32bit colour. When we talk about bits now it is the memory bandwidth of the GPU usually.

The N64, Sega Deamcast, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii are all 32 bit consoles that support 32bit colour.

Your eyes can not really tell the difference between 32bit and 48bit colour(Which max as a human eye can process) as your brain fills in the gaps.

Super NES version was my fave but it was also on Amiga, Genesis, Sega CD, 3DO, and also Jaguar. I loved it so much I had it on both Super NES and Sega CD (which also included the sequel). Also Flashback on Genesis and Sega CD. The main character, Lester Chaykin, was like a cross between Gordon Freeman and John Carmack (he even drove a Ferrari). XD
