  • is thise not vietnamese song write by trinh cong son????

  • @cussigreen

I'm singing this song in Japanese.

But,this song was written by Trịnh Công Sơn.

  • @eeestonka

  • what a beautiful voice here, i love this cover:"> there's greeting from Vietnam :)

I am Vietnamese American but I love the Asian cultures very much, especially Japanese and Vietnamese, from what I have learned they are beautiful cultures. Thank you for your delightful comment.

"Diễm Xưa" is teaching me that Vietnamese people's gently and forceful mind.

Beautiful culture is crossing the border.

Thank you for listen to my singing!

translate.google.com.vn hihi.

Thank you for your comment in Japanese.

Khánh Ly was singing Diễm in this Japanese lyrics.

But I love more Vietnamese original lyrics than Japanese lyrics.

Trịnh Công Sơn is the great poet in the world.

Chúc bạn may mắn... Việt Nam - Nhật Bản Friendly...

  • @daothuongtin

  • @daothuongtin

  • @toshihidePham

Tôi phải tôn trọng Trịnh Công Sơn.

  • hay lắm

    thanks

  • Thank you for uploading this song. I'm very suprised that Trịnh Công Sơn's songs is also known in Japan.

@insaneDiago515: That's false, "Diễm" is a girl Trịnh Công Sơn deeply loved (in the year 1962) however Diễm's father, a strict teacher did not approve of the young Trịnh Công Sơn who was just a poor, nobody without a college degree.

Diễm also loved Trịnh but she couldn't overcome her strict father to be with him.

  • @hypnoprism

    Thank you for your comment.

    I know this song's background.

Beautiful song...I love Trịnh Công Sơn and Khánh Ly's songs.

  • @norikohitomi

    「Diễm Xưa」

  • @norikohitomi

"Diễm" is a given name of a beautiful lady that Trịnh Công Sơn さん fell in love with; and Khanh Ly and Anh9 - helped made the Love Song from Trịnh さん known almost by every lover in Vietnam/ベトナム.

The Nihongo Lyrics made the song [Diễm Xưa] travel another mile-stone

    arigatou

  • @SuongthuShi 'Diễm" in this song is actually TCS's mother.

  • @norikohitomi

    「Diễm Xưa」

  • @norikohitomi

  • Nagakustsushita

  • Thank you it is very nice of you to post this song; I still remember the news about the EXPO in Japan when Khanh Ly was singing this song.

Thank you this makes me think much about my high school year during the Viet Nam War.

  • @TinLangQuan

Thank you for listening to my song.

EXPO in Japan...40 years ago...at that time, I was living in Osaka.

  • Thank you!

  • @Nagakutsushita

I know some old Japanese songs have the rhythm similar to the old Vietnamese songs. So, when I enjoy this song in Japanese, I guess many ones around the world are able to think this is an old Japanese song :)

I really appreciate your voice, it's so nice for Trinh Cong Son's songs ^^

  • @GreatViet Thank you for your comment.

Vietnam and Japan, we might be connected to the deep side.

  • Is this japanese singer from japan? or just a lovely fan of Trinh Cong Son? or khanh ly? if it is khanhly then big surprised to me.

  • I'm just a lovely fan of Trịnh Công Sơn and Khánh Ly.

I love Diễm Xưa,Hạ trắng,and other beautiful songs of them!

And, I hope to singing many beautiful songs of Vietnam in Japanese language.

  • Arigatou SuongthuShi san!

  • Thanks, SuongthuShi for sending me this too,

heard a few versions by now, all good :))

    Cheers!

  • oh i let me redo the last sentence:

Even if the old dress is rumbled, I beg to call your name even when my head turn white.

  • Oh,very very thanks for your kindness.

    Really great song,Hạ trắng is!

I will try to sing Hạ trắng in Japanese, appreciate your translation of meaning.

    Thank you very much!

  • @hoamay san and Nagakutsushita san:

黃髮 [白髪 hakuhashu] bạc đầu (your hair turns gray)]

Áo xưa (mukashi) dù nhàu cũng xin bạc đầu gọi mãi tên nhau. literally, can be expressed as:

your/our then favourite dress, though not fresh-pressed - please call our name - the same way when as my hair turns gray

  • Thank you SuongthuShi san !

    It's hard to translate.

  • "Ha Trang" is dedicated to a friend of Trinh, who had lived a moving love story.

Best known of Trinh Cong Son are not just love songs like "Diem Xua" or "Ha Trang". Others may concern with philosophy of life and living.

I thank you very much for that you like and sing Vietnamese song. I, by the way, love very much Japanese songs such as Sakura, Sen no kaje ni natte, Doraemon, amayadori,... :D

  • Well, please just take it as a translation of basic meaning :(. Translation make it awkward isn't it. But it is more than that. For example, what i translated as "old dress" represents youth, beauty, that is "rumpled" by the time.

  • Your foot steps, how do I know

Call on you for the sun to be dead on long river.

Thankful to life for this passion calling on the fall

I walk you home, you softly step, the sky sadly blow the wind on high.

I beg our lives together lasting forever, sun never call on sadness

Even if the old dress become rumbled, forever call your name.

  • Forgive my trying to translate part of "Ha Trang" (White Summer) as following:

Call on the sun to be on your fragile shoulder, the long road and the winds fly your lap of dress

Sun on sad eyes charms flowers and butterflies.

The way you go and come there is no cloud.

The way lighted by the sun all seasons.

Call on the sun for the passion of a flying white flower filled afternoon

For your long arms (hands) that makes the sun even thinner

  • Rain, rain still falls on the old tower

How much long is your arms and your world of pale eyes

Listen to the rain of autumn leaves,

The long long way makes the eyes even deeper...

  • Well, Trịnh Công Sơn is a very great poet, I think.

I can only sing in Japanese.

I want to know more lyrics of Trịnh Công Sơn.

I want to know the meaning "Hạ trắng".

  • Anyway, translation cannot convey subtleties of the language. However, literally translation would be like following for one part of the song:

  • it's great that our Vietnamese song is known and love by the Japanese. But forgive me that I have to say, the lyrics in Japanese is by no mean comparable to the Vietnamese one. One of the best reasons for which Trinh Cong Son is well-known in Vietnam is that he didn't just wrote the musics per se, but the lyrics are just as good as poem on it own.

  • Trinh Cong Son was the most brilliant musician in Vietnam. His music was very popular with Vietnamese.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I love his music.

His music have soul of human.

    Thanks for comment.

  • @Nagakutsushita :

Your Piano accompany your singing so well / あなたの/彼女のピアノはまたあなたの歌に伴う

Maybe one day we will send you a Music Chord of our song ... and hope that you could make the Lyircs in Nihongo

    Arigatou Nagakutsushita san [

  • Thank you for listen to my song.

What song is your original song?

  • Trinh Cong Son was the most brilliant musician in Vietnam.
