Ok kids of today...at 6:31 of this vid when they show the Billboard chart...look what was in the Top Ten album chart....Def Leppard, Van Halen, Guns N Roses and Poison(although I was never a big Poison fan). Those were the days in high school...Scorpions, Van Halen, Def Lep, Metallica, GNR, Motley Crue, LA Guns, Judas Priest etc(so many more hard rock bands) and even some of the pop/rock was good.
This video highlights the importance of a great record producer. a guy with a really good musical ear and knack of turning a good rock song into a great rock song. Where are today's Mutt Lange?
One of the remarkable things about Hysteria is that it didn't matter what kind of music you were into, the record pulled in rock, pop, even some country fans. It has a mass appeal and that's very special. Hysteria really is a masterpiece.
yep when hysteria came out we had to wait for the whole LP here in the states..i remember thinkin man this must be a really good LP to be sold out..couldn't tell you how many chicks loved pore some sugar on me..lol..prolly all of them..i know that song helped me out with the lady's..lmaoooooooo
Back in 87, I wore out 2 Def Leppard Hysteria Cassettes back to back because I just couldn't stop listening to this great album! Truly remarkable stories behind this great album and thanks for posting this on YouTube! Bravo!
For those who don't have the DVD, on the bonus content there's an extendeed verision of the recording process for Love Bits, and there's a deleted background vocal that you MUST hear.
