i'm so excited! I'm in 11th grade and I plan on applying next schoolyear. I've been slaving over my portfolio and I'm going to start my Parsons project probably in early May to avoid procrastination...AHHH! I love Parsons, it's like a dream.

the problem with alot of students at parsons is that they dont take it seriously and the teachers know it too. If you do things at the last minute and bs your way through projects then it will catch up to you. Your career at parsons starts with your application, its up to you if you want to take it serious or not.

I was pretty surprised that i got accepted into this school. I used my dad's xerox papers and some calligraphy pens and just went all out on my Portfolio, i didn't believe the challenge was such a "challenge". I suggest that if you apply to Parsons LOOK FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID EVERYWHERE ITS EXPENSIVE!

that's so cool....i wanna go there next year, how much does it cost to go there and what did you have to do to get in...and is it a hard school to get into?

Well after financial aid and scholarships, I owed $23K. Alot.... but, I know it's worth it. Show them a good portfolio and Challenge, thats really what got me in. Grades are very important, but if you really show talent and interest, you'll get in. When you prepare your portfolio, I suggest that you give them more than what they ask for. I spent about $150 on my Portfolio, half my paycheck! But it was definitely worth it as you can see.

what kinds of things did you put in your portfolio and how did you like .. organized it guess?

Do alot of still life and figure drawings. Buy presentation material to make a book for your portfolio. Office Depot, Staples, and Craft stores should have the stuff you need.

Creativitiy is all that matters, money that you spend does not. I was accepted and all i used were peices of charcoal and some xerox paper. Get creative!

im in grade 11 now, and i LOVEE fashion. I decided that my final choice will be to study fashion design. I chose Parsons cuz its rated the best. My GPA is average i guess its about 3.5 or so. I live in Canada so does that mean that i have to pay extra money cuz im an international student?

I think you do need to pay more. And Parsons also looks at your art portfolio and not just your GPA.

ahhh it's five months since you posted this but Parsons is private so I don't think you'll need to pay more than the already crazy tuition fee.

I didn't spend a single cent and I was able to make my portfolio and also got accepted. Alls i did was whip out of peice of paper and some pens and charcoal and i was set :0
