these guys are wrong. the 962 was originally 2.85 liters, and single turbo, single overhead cams. later it was 3.2 liters, still single turbo. hp estimates of 700+ are right though.
right, but this guy was talking about the IMSA spec. The 962C had basically the same engine as the 956, i think. 2.65 liters, water cooled, twin turbos, etc. I think IMSA wanted their engines to be production based, thus the air cooled/2 valve engine they used. check out Wynns Porsche 962 at Rennsport. this is what the IMSA car sounded like.

its a racing simulator for windows by image space and you can race just about any sports car on it.I have the group c mod with all the C1 and C2 prototypes and you can drive a full 24 hr race at le mans if you have the endurance.its awesome.
the first time i saw a 962 was at Lime Rock Park, CT in 1984. I think this was the debut of Holbert's Lowenbrau special. I used to pull for the Jag team, but i still have a soft spot in my heart for the 962. I went to Daytona many times from 1985 to 1989 to see these cars run. Boy i miss those days!!!

woops, i looked at an old On Track mag, and saw that the 962C used a 3.0 liter twin turbo. this complete car was also used starting in 1990 IMSA.
