Technically Nosferatu was Dracula, just with a different name to avoid copyright at the time, and that was what Dracula was like in the book. An ancient monster seeking to drain/take over England. It's just that some films made the stupid decision to turn him into a whiner/lover so teenage girls could be drawn in too. He's still intact in a majority of versions though and while he's not quite as ugly as Radu or his Orlok version, he still fits your description.

I love these movies! I also love the twilight series... THE BOOKS! The movies ruined everything and all the hype about robert pattinson and that jacob vs. edward crap is very disappointing to me because it has nothing to do with the real story that was written by Meyer. I wish the twilight series had never gotten popular in this fashion.. they are great books

i love all the old vampire movies especially subspecies,lost boys, interview with a vampire etc but i LOVE twilight also there's nothing wrong with some change sometimes.

Guys best news....I was the Famous Monsters Convention in Indianapolis with Charles Band as a guest and he told me that within the next 2 years, there will be a 5th Subspecies...script is done..Anders will be back as Radu with Ted Nicholau directing, etc..it will be a prequel that shows Radu being initiated into the undead.
I love this entire series and Vampire Journals the sin off movie from the Subspieces series. I know there is another Subspieces movie trailer with the main them in the back ground. this one is slightly different not crazy about the music in the background but I have enjoyed the movie.

Have you seen Near Dark, Lifeforce, The Hunger, Sleepwalkers, The Keep (1983) , Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter, Vampire Hunter D 1 & 2, Thirst (2009), Let The Right One In, Planet of the Vampires, Ravenous etc. Those portayed not of the usual kind of vampires before Twilight.

I remember the local video store that we used to go to had all the Full Moon releases and when you rented the Subspecies (on VHS of course) we would get a free pack of subspecies trading cards. Oh how I miss my childhood :(
