  • i wish this song was extended :(

  • @JellyRaee this version sounds the best imo. the extended one doesnt have the harmonic voice.

  • The little boy does NOT sing for the 1,459th time. The director's wife does. They got her to sound like a boy on special features.

  • @Cherrypop513 k but the directors voice is terrible and has a fake feeling too it

  • @Cherrypop513 Kill the joy of the film/song to some people why dont you.

  • "They've started singing, sir"

    "Finally"

  • There will always be pirates as long as there are people fighting for freedom. And as long as those in power are corrupt we will fight them! This song is about freedom and I think it is more relevant now than it has ever been before.

  • I like it, whats the genre called?

  • Seriously, this is the best song everr!! It took me awhile to find ALL the lyrics but it was worth it! Rock on Johnny Depp!!!

  • Who are those 10 assholes who dislike this?

  • the next movie is coming out in 2011. thats to long!!!!

  • haha this is an actual tune !

  • Who plays the little boy! He's a good singer!!!!

  • Cabin Boy's Vocals are by Brendyn Bell

  • Odd thing: The picture is of "Dead Man's Chest" and the song is from "At World's End"

  • and in the description it says at worlds end

  • True.

  • in the begining the king and his men stole the queen form bed and bouned her in her bones is sad

  • it means the pirate king and the other lords stole the calipso from seas and bouned her into bones (human) ;)

  • I didn't even realize what the song meant until I had the captions on and saw what they were singing.

  • yo,ho all together hoist the colours high

    NEVER! shall we die....

    man that never gets old!....

  • Yo-ho all together,

    Hoist the colours high.

    Heave-ho,

    Theives and beggars,

    Never say we die!

    ---

    Love this song!!

  • but for those of you that think this song is sad...know its actualy about how they captured calypso "the queen" and bound her to human form "her bones" so they could have control over the seas."the seas be ours"

  • but as well it shows that theres those willing to fight back

  • the scene shows what humans have become.

  • Yo-Ho, haul together,

    hoist the colours high!

    Heave-ho, thieves and beggars,

    NEVER SHALL WE DIE!

  • in some way not its true!

  • I know, it's sad to think of how cruel people were then huh? And we haven't improved much have we?

  • wel ist sad but in that time it whase normaal :( but a child come on :'(

  • Kids these days in developement lands are also used a soldiers.

  • wow... me too! I love the songs and all the movies!!!!! Hearts to orlando bloom!!!

  • me wov thiz song

  • love it!!!

  • Sad it is, some real truth to it! many Pirates and families were hung some drawn and quartered all because they wanted to survive under the opressive hand of the King, some became traitors eye, not ol bigrick mate, I be a Pirate till the end you sea dog!!

  • I love it how the little kid started it. That made it so much better than if it had been an adult. It just did something special for the beginning and gave it a certain..ah I can't find the word I'm looking o4r

  • nice song its stupid that they hang so much people together

  • Haunting... Awesome... Greatest opening to a movie ever...

  • oh i do love this, its so wonderfully haunting! ooh, sends chills up me back. ;)

  • Who cares about the picture, its still Pirates of the caribbean.

    XD

    Its still awesome

  • haha well i like it dont worry about the picture!!!! :D:D

  • you've choose the wrong pic...it's at worlds end, not dead mans chest^^

  • You're right! How do you mess that up on a tribute video!?!?

  • muppet

  • didn't he only get his wife to sing it to demonstrate to the others what effect it would have?

  • That could have been it too.

  • Yeah, he did, it's on the Blu-ray edition. Although it was the boy who sang it in the film.

  • Did you know it's not really the boy singing?

I was watching the special features, and apparently the singing directer/composer got his wife to sing the song 'as if she was a boy'

  • um i love the song as much as the next POTC lover but dont you have the wrong CD cover in the vedio? i dont remember the song being in the second movie.

  • Correct. Its from At Worlds End, not Dead Man's Chest

  • piosenka jest fajna ale film jestbrawurowy tylko szkoda że dali tą piosenke akurat na początek i przectawili ją w taki ponury sposób

  • nevr shall we die...

  • i need the song badly too

  • Does anyone have the whole song?

  • I know the whole song but I dont have it, I found the lyrics and memorized them. I saw some links on here that have more then this. I want to know if anyone has it sung normally. I mean without the drum roll and the changing of singers like one singer and the whole song. Anyone?

  • I sung it normally at the Fall Festival at my school, it sounds neat when you're singing it alone and no props to back you up.

  • I do I know it by heart. do you want it? I could send it 2 u

  • I saw the thing after the credits. we sat for a while but it was worth it there was only one other person left in the theator!

  • Hiho!

  • if you wanna see the 10-years-later thing, search for Keep a weather eye on the horizon, then it will show up a movie about will and elizabeth, and in the end of that movie you can see it! (sorry for my bad english lol)

  • hey check out the rest of the song- Some have died and some are free others sail on the sea -- with the keys to the cage... and the Devil to pay we lay to Fiddler's Green. The bell has been raised from its watery grave... Do you hear its sepulchral tone? We are a call to all, pay heed the squall and turn your sail to home. Yo ho, haul together, Hoist the colours high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, Never shall we die."
  • rainwater... that's not correct at all!

  • ich liebe dieses lied .. wahnsinn .. das geht so unter die haut und du bekommst so eine gänsehaut

  • the little kid is so cute :)

  • some men have died and some are alive

and others sail on the sea

with the keys to the cage and the devil to pay

    we lay to fiddler's green

the bell has been raised from it's watery grave

do you hear it's sepulchral tone?

a call to all, pay heed the squall

and turn your sail toward home

  • I like how you used the Dead Mans' Chest picture when the song is from At World's End.

  • A lotta people think that the boy who sang this song was Elizabeth's child. Wat do u think??

  • Totally wrong. Elizabeth and Will aren't even married yet...

  • He certainly looked like him.

  • Well, it's the same little boy, from the beginning and at the end. Only just towards the end, before Jack had to leave for 10 years, they saw a green flash and that means that a soul came back to this world, meaning, that boy. And I guess she was pregnant then, and yes, they WERE married then. And 10 years later, you see Elizabeth taking the son, the same boy, to go see Will.

  • was that after the credits? Because it's not in the movie

  • Yeah, it's the part after the credits. My friend made me stay afterwards to watch. xD

  • Oh. I missed it.

  • that green flash was will returning to the land of the dead to guide the dead poeple

  • oops my bad, I meant to say he was returning FROM, the soul that came back to this worlds was will's cause remember will is know the new captain of the dutchman, only able to set foot on land once every 10 years. SO that was not the same boy although he looked similar though

  • was there a 10-years-later thing in the movie?! i never saw that. any chanche that is on youtube

  • Yess.

It's after the credits. It's really cool, too.

Most people left before the credits every time I saw it.

  • The king and his men stole the queen from her bed . .

and bound her in her Bones . . .

The seas be ours and by the powers . . .

    where we will we'll roam

    Yo, ho, haul together,

    hoist the colors high . . .

    Heave ho, thieves and beggars,

    never shall we die.

  • Does the first verse refer to Calypso?

  • yeh i think it does, the first couple of lines anyway

  • Yes. The Pirate King and the Lords bound Calypso, and so were in control of the seas.

  • everyone stop criticising god! u go and make a movie and make it as sucessfull and potc! retards

  • man i thought there was more? any lyrics?

  • Google search hoist the colors lyrics to find a full set, this isn't the full song, theres e few more verses, but I havn't been able to find it sung in its entirty anywhere.

  • I liked that kid...he's cute, and I thought his singing was good.

  • YES he had braces but as was said below, they were meant to look like grime. its all good because i still think it was a very good make-up job. i didn't notice until i watched it the second time.

  • YES he was singing very high, but i doubt it screwed up his voice. I've seen it twice now and if you watch, he doesn't his chin so he isn't really straining his voice. they had him sing high to give the scene a haunting feel and i loved his voice. he sang it very well for a boy who probably won't be a tenor when he matures.

  • i've seen at worlds end 3 times now. And by the second time (not even) you notice that the kid has braces covered up with the stuff. Not to mention th kid doesn't have the greatest voice but who cares? most pirates prolly didn't lol

  • hey err isnt this potc at worlds end?

  • Yes it is.

  • It's awefully short....

  • the song is actually longer. Elizabeth finishes the last 2 or 3 lines of the song when she's floating down the river.

  • realy? I don't recall...

  • it is funne it is not in the song (mean it is song nr 2 on the cd or it it not with )

  • :D Hell yeah! I love this!

  • i love this song

    thanks for posting it

  • i <3 this song

  • awsome song <3 this song

  • Sorry for the bad background :p

  • not bad :)
