I'm in Canada trying to fiddle with a new E71 without a SIM presently. I installed PCsuite, downloaded Map loader 2.0, but can't seem to work the Maps and find an address when I test it out, I downloaded my region. Does it need a SIM card to actually work? Does it need wi-fi? Isn't the point of map loader so you don't have to use data over the air and have it directly done through your pc download.Help please!
i really dont know how to get this info so i just ask... two things. how can i connect trough my private internett instead of paying? and how can i use the gps?
Garmin should be better, since Garmin mostly only do GPS recievers. I have a N82 and a Garmin in my car. I also like the Garmin GPS more but I think Nokias GPS is very good for the price you pay, incl. a very desent camera and ofc a cell phone.
I tried using it the other day, my conclusion is that you always need to connect to a WAP or GPRS or WLAN connection in order to get the gps to work. (As well as getting the GPS signal should work) But I think you could just download 'em and browse 'em. Not sure though :/
I've read about it, you can use it offline with no connection, if you download the maps. GPS service is available anywhere on the world as long as you have a clear view of the sky, so that the GPS receiver can get signals from the sattellites.
But I would recommend you to go to a local phone house and ask them about the phone.
I could just say that this is the best phone I've ever had, and I've had alot of phones, including the N95.
I don't understand why would someone pay to get traffic information when he/she can get it for free from Google Map? I belive Nokia has to improve that.
The maps for a certain area are pre-installed and you can use the service offline once registered. Real time traffic and online search (and A-GPS for a quicker GPS fix) do require to use internet from your phone.
i have a n82 i think it dose not have the maps on it where do i get the maps from thanks

Is there a connection to the internet requiered if you want to use the navigation? Saying do you have to pay by minute while you're using it or not?
