  • All bands break up.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this and for the translation! Very interesting interview from this beautiful lady.

  • She's so gracious to put up with his endless needling about how she chooses to live her life, and thanks him with a smile nonetheless. What a beautiful soul.

  • Woaw! Thank you Lasse Bengtsson and Agneta Fältskog for a great intervju! Agneta still beautifull, and with a angelitic voice

  • When she smiles she looks a lot younger, it really lights up her face and looks beautiful.

  • What a lovely interview, and Agnetha is a charming woman, still very beautiful.

Thanks for posting it was very enjoyable to watch.

    :-)

  • Agnetha is like one of the Beatles in Sweden. She is revered.

  • Et flott menneske; sånn fru skulle en ha!!

    ed

  • 6:00 - for et svin den damen der; som ikke respekterer Agnethas vilje!!

  • Very talented.

  • Vilken fin intervju! Vilken vacker kvinna - både på utsidan och insidan! All kärlek till Agnetha <3

  • This was so nice! Agnetha seems to be such a nice person.

Really, great interview! + interviewer, he was so nice and calm aswell.

    NICE

is the word for this (:

  • She is a beautiful woman, a beautiful artist, a beautiful mother and grandmother.... God bless you, sweet Agnetha...... She is the proof that our soul never ages..... we are and we'll always be who we are.... You are beautiful, Ms Agnetha

  • A wonderful woman with a great heart! She went thru a lot and people still try to make cash and bother her. I wish her peace and happiness.

  • Lovely interview by Agnetha. Very honest and I loved listening to her voice as she spoke in Swedish. Very calm, soothing and tranquil. Thanks for the post and the tranlation as I am in th UK. I would love to learn Swedish.

  • @Stellastar1972

So true!! - a genuine woman; through and through....

  • She has the most beautiful smile, it lights up her face.

  • Agnetha är bäst!!!

  • Aha! How come I'm sure the two ABBA guys did Agnetha and Frida out of money? Sly fellows! Is there anybody here to persuade me that I'm wrong?

  • What a nice and gentle woman. You could even say shay. She is so beautiful and delicate. Time passes for all of us but not for you.

Thank you for your presence and your smile.

Dear Agnetha I wish you all the best.

    Love from Poland.

  • abba have been and still is a huge part of the whole musik "history" abba is a huge part of sweden and also the swedish history, and ofc all around the world.

I`m so proud this amazing group are from my country and I absolutely LOVE their songs! It`s amazing how my mom grew up having abba as her big idols, and that their music still is very much alive!

    Abba will live on forever!

    /sweden

  • @Jagerebecca

You're right. But on watching this interview, I've come to a conclusion that ABBA nearly killed her. Can it be that nobody in ABBA could notice she was on the edge? Were they too busy making money or what? I'm so sorry for her. She's like a broken feather. "Chiquitita" is in fact about her...

  • The years pass and they will do is magnify the inner and outer beauty of wounderful Agnetha.

  • Such a beautiful woman and person! But she looks so sad... :(

  • I love you, Agnetha..I've always loved you...and forever I'll do.

  • INSPITE OF THE HIGH AGE OF AGNETHA AND FRIDA, THEY'RE SO PRETTY AND FASCINATING WOMEN, THANKS FOR THIS INTERVIEW WITH AGNETHA, IT'S THE BEST!! I LOVE HER AND ABBA AS WELL, KISSES JANICE, FROM: KIKO. IN BRAZIL

  • I still miss Beautiful Anna & Frida & the talents of Bjorn & Benny as ABBA! I understand why Anna & ABBA decided to end what they had to live quieter lives after providing the Universe with such glorious music.

Looking back, it was only a short time after, we had a young woman named Princess Diana, Queen of Hearts, & look at what the papparazzi did to her? I'm very happy that era hadn't yet affected ABBA, because I'm sure Agnetha, Frida, Benny & Bjorn may have had similuar issues Diana had.

  • Thank you (owner of this channel) for posting this interview.

I think she was somehow like Michael Jackson, ie never satisfy with herself and always try to make better image and performance of herself, as the professional instinct. This appetence even appear in this interview. Considering how energetic she had to be during those years, she must have been exhausted due to endless effort like this. So finally she was too tired to appear in public.

  • Agnetha <3

  • Agnetha Åse Faltskog is a beautiful woman!

  • She's a really, really private person-and very controlling-not relaxed...I think the pains of life have made her close up alot and become very guarded ..There's so much fear under the surface..I get the sense she's not a happy person at all...

  • She is a lovely person and it comes across in this interview. Still very beautiful at this time.

  • Really good video. She seems relaxed, sometimes a little nervous at questions, but she still answered them. Agnetha comes across as a very nice person indeed, just very private. And there's nothing wrong with that.

She was, and still is, gorgeous.

  • Agnetha, I just hope that in your birthday you will get the desire of your heart and be very, very happy. I love you Agneha.

  • she reminds me of my mum in ways and very much like myself too

  • damn, Aggie made it out in the beginning that she doesn't like uncomfortable questions and then he goes and asks her stuff about her income and if she stills gets money, her ex husband and if they still see each other,if she gets payed a lot. Jesus. That's really..um..private isn't it?!??!

Seriously, she has a right to keep some things to herself

  • I want a new interview :) there was one from 2010 but it got removed :( she was waaaaaaaaaaayyy more happier than this interview :D

  • She stopped smoking in 1975 after when her amandelen were removed.

  • As I said before, she does not look like she is 54. She looks better than many women who are barely 40. I bet that she could even still fit into her old stage clothes and go clubbing. When the ambulance comes to take me away, I would be saying , " I was mauled by the ultimate Cougar..." and i would die happy.

(Although, AF really deserves the best). Notice how she hesitates about the money thing. Perhaps the bladets are right and she did get bilked out of a lot of the money from ABBA.

  • still.incredibly.beautiful.x

  • Who is this russian KGB intervieuwer???

  • Her voice has changed.

  • Yes, but that is not unusual with age. She also smoked a lot at one time out of nervousness. If you are ever close to her, you will notice the "smoker' s wrinkles" around her lips.

  • @Viaamtrak WHAT? she smoked? she couldnt! she has the most lovely teeth and face. Smoking is soo bad for you :(

  • @vintagerosenz There are even a few clips on YouTube and other sources of her smoking when she was younger. But, back then, a lot more people did. It was considered a sign in some groups of "sophistication." perhaps you may find some of those old clips.

  • Thanks for sharing this interview. It is nice to get to know a litle more Agnetha. She is a wounderfull person and deserve to be happy. After all, she is an angel.

  • Still so beautiful and looks so natural wow. looks like she was in the winner takes it all x.

  • Hermosa, no?

Gracias.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. One can tell that in spite of Agnetha's physical beauty, she has a tremendously compassionate soul underneath. It's not surprising that she chose a life of quiet relaxation after the insanity of ABBA.

  • Excellent, and thanks for posting this. I assume Agnetha had a lot of trust in this interviewer, as he asked probing questions I would never have expected to hear in an interview with her. It's also clear that she set ground rules, ie no politics or religion.

JaniceHope. I hoe you can understand that there are many men, myself among them, for whom Agnetha was a sexual fantasy, and in the video of The Winner Takes It All, it look like she is singing to one person, making it tough for men to see

  • Trust me it is not only men who had an occasional fantasy about this georgous woman! ;)

  • @JaniceHope I have never seen so much woman in one person, shes perfect, its almost art.

  • what a terrible INTERVIWER!!!

  • The way this woman has retained such a sense of dignity, class, and personal perseverance for what is important to HER impressess me more than anythiing.

    Bravo Agnetha, you are amazing.

  • Forsure3333, I think the dog is the interviewer's.

  • Frida never had a HUGE hit after Abba!

I know there's something going on was a little succes but not more. Agnetha has had a lot of hits after Abba and a bigger succes than Frida with her LP's. AGNETHA.....THE VOICE of Abba

  • Wher and when did frida have a HUGE hit after Abba? im a big abba fan and i dont know! iktsgo reached 13 in u.s is that wot u mean ! cant shake loose by agnetha reached top 20 in u.s! agnetha had bigger sucess as solo singer after abba than frida , frida had 1 success iktsgo! agnetha had several! and if i thought youd ever change your mind reached u.k top 10 best of any abba member post Abba!. and her album number 12 best again of any abba member!

  • Nice down-to-earth lady.

Has anybody noticed..hmm she fixed her gap in her teeth...still a hot lady.

  • I'm a man of 43 years old. I was a child during the ABBA's success. It was a so beautiful period. God bless you Agnetha, for all the joy, for all the beautifull song you gave to us, for all the remember they represente. Thank you Agnetha ... for your voice, for your smile, you're an angel and such a beautiful woman. I hope to the next generation to have the chance we had to hear et see angels like you

  • Nice interview. Thanks for posting. Merry Christmas.

  • Love her! Ratzzi mama of pappa. Let her to live her life.

  • Lovely woman. Thanks for the download.

  • I am 35 and I have had a love affair with ABBA and Agnetha since I was 4 years old. ABBAs music is the best and Agnetha is the most beautiful women I have ever seen. My heart goes out to you Agnetha and I cant help but feel your sadness when I watch this interview. God bless you Agnetha your voice will always touch me. I have always thought that Frida loved you like a sister and its so evident when you see her hugging you in so many of the old ABBA pictures. When you see her give her a big hug x

  • Underbara Agnetha ..

  • She gave us so much - more than most of us could ever imagine. It broke her spirit and she's searched for peace ever since. Bless her heart. I am overwhelmed by her success. Just look at all of the transformations she's been through and you would think ABBA performed for 20-30 years rather than 10-12.

  • On the matter of money, I think she did not want to say that money matters because she would be automatically labeled as "material girl" by jaleous people.

  • Such a nice person!

  • I think she needs to forgive some things. I pray for her that she will find inner peace. I hope she gets spiritual because that can really open up the doors of perception. Her soul is eternal and she might not know it. Love out.

  • She is a naturally-born anxious person. I am too. It is extremely hard to overcome. It's a bit of a hell to live in.

  • it really is. and it just gets worse for some reason, as you get older.

  • @TinyPunk1896 At one point, I told myself, "I am what I am, but I'm going to enjoy life the as much as I can for the rest of my life anyway".

  • that's all you can do!

  • Agnetha has never had a long term relationship after Bjourn, A couple very short marriages and a number of affairs. She cannot seem to find any peace and certainly appears to be unhappy. I think that she has to forgive Bjourn,as hard as it may be to do, to be able to move on to inner peace. From there move on to better long term relationships.

  • Agnetha Faltskog - impressive person.

She is correct about 'Winner takes it all'.

It is the best music video ever. I would be proud to call her 'friend' - anyday anytime.

ABBA - for a time - made time stand still.

  • I think she mentioned The Winner Takes It All as the best ABBA song, not the best ABBA video..

  • What a classy woman! (and talented too!!!). I can't think of any other high profile performers who've given up the spotlight for such noble reasons. She could have easilly achieved greater fame and fortune, but she wanted instead to be the best mother possible. There's a lesson here for today's superstars (most of whom would sell their souls to the devil for a bit of juicy PR). Kudos to you Agnetha, you've provided an outstanding example of how to be a great talent and human being!!

  • the questions were a bit introverted I think, specially when he asked her about money and such. Maybe coz here in North America we're not used of people asking how much money artists make. I didn't like Agnetha that much before this interview because I thought she was selfish, but now that I understand her better, it's another story.

  • what a nice person and a beautiful woman she is!

  • @casimsalabim you are right on that

  • she could be a lot more proud of herself. i guess only ,,small'' people are proud of themselves.

  • she is so fabulous such a good-hearted person!

    tack så mycket!

  • she's such a genuine person

  • she is human

  • Paradise thats a silly comment! do you know her personally? how do you know anything about her personal life? she still so beautiful NATURALLY unlike others who turn to botox collagen etc, shes approaching 60 and still stunning and her voice is one of the best ever.

  • Agnetha is so nice.Maybe we should stop speculating and making her feeling bad.Hope she writes new songs too.

  • Thank you for giving this to us and translating it!

Must have been lots of work for you, great job! Thank you!

  • considering what most high end performers go through and eventually

end up Agi managed to come out with quiet a normal life. She even managed to take charge of the interview.

  • =) <3 (=

  • Thank you for posting this rare interview. (I know it's been awhile now.) Such a sensitive and talented lady, and still beautiful with that smile. Loved her Ferdinand comparison (part 2) : She may happen to have an introverted personality. Some successful artists/performers do.

That said, she's clearly been affected by some of her experiences. I wish she could infer greater happiness and satisfaction about those everywhere that she's touched; who love and respect this nice person.

  • what a nice woman

  • nazi interrogator? Bull. She agreed to this interview only because she wanted her new CD to sell. His job is not to sell her records. The questions were not difficult to answer, he never asked about sex, reason for the divorce, her political views or anything like that.

And if she didn't want to answer, she said so. If one of you 'fans' had done the job , we would throw up, as you probably would treat her like a queen or rather Virgin Mary.

  • yes, she made it professionally..

but it's clear why she's unhappy...

she had a failed marriage with Bjorn, and she wasn't with children as much as one mother should be..

i bet she'll gave up whole carrier for successful private life

  • Thats not an interview, thats a questioning! Poor Girl!

  • It's very hard to find someone who is beautiful and genuinely sincere and will not harm you.Agnetha's all that and more. The interviewer's a master!

  • Heh the Frida bit was almost a bit naughty. OK it was a mistake of her saying "single" instead of an album, but actually the only track the public knows of Frida solo is "I know there's something going on" from 1982. One could even describe her as a "post-ABBA one hit wonder". I bet Agnetha only remembered this one single as well, that's why "single" was the first to come in her mind. :)

  • ...however interestingly that "1 hit one single" was the best globally selling single of any band member ever. Agnetha's singles were not such big hits after all either.

  • Although you have a point about Agnetha's singles not charting too well compared to that one (but huge) smash-hit of Frida, we must note down that neither Björn nor Benny EVER pondered about going on a solo career. They just didn't need it, because they had so many other great projects on their hands. Not too long after ABBA disbanded, Björn wrote the huge success for Murray Head, "One Night In Bangkok" (1984). AND we should not forget the musicals CHESS and of course, Kristina från Duvemala!

  • That "one hit" of Frida's was the biggest single of ANY of the ABBA members since the group split up, so I think we need to give Frida her due. It seems like, as Aggy said, they were different people, but they worked as a team and were all strong talents. I doubt Aggy was trying to diss Frida. That's just more grist for the mill of people saying they didn't get along.

  • Even though ABBA was way before my time, their music means a lot to me.

She comes across warm and sensitive, but I can't help feeling sort of sad about this interview. Some times the interviewer was pushing too much, there were a few awkward moments there.

I just really want her to be happy, but you can tell there's something not quite right somehow.

  • I have to strongly disagree about the interviewer part. I think we couldn't get a smarter man to do the interview with her; otherwise, she wouldn't have let so much "secrets" out of herself for sure. Bengtsson was very charming and subtle and sometimes made her say things she actually did want to keep under the veil.

  • Agnetha spoke so much of being "stressed" easily. It seems that now, in her later years, she is worrying herself much over living up to people's expectations of her, being what others think she should be. I sensed a low self-esteem and much insecurity here. That is unfortunate.

  • When she talked about animals I can very much relate. I also hate the mixture of many noises and sounds. She is very DTE and as humble as can be. She is a control freak and in need of total harmony that life cannot always offer. People like us will always suffer a bit and can never be 100% happy as we always want to improve on things. I have always wanted a mother like her: strong-willed, sensitive, protective, trusting, confidential, and I loved her reading the poetry. I love her endlessly

  • she is one amazing woman, love her!

  • Why can't I find a woman like that!! She seems so down to earth.

  • JaniceHope, this is great documentary material and I believe all the fans of Agnetha are thankful for your kindness to make it available.

Agnetha is so down-to-earth person with great intelligence and life-experience. It was a pleasure to see all four parts. Thanks for that!

  • i think that a lot of lovely kind people are attracted by the same kind of people agnetha is lovely and kind a quiet sensitive person well mannered and gracious

    god bless

  • what a great interview from a lovely down to earth lady.she come's across so humble.I feel in some ways she lacks self confidence in herself. She truely is a remarkable person.

  • i do hope she's ok in terms of "money".she is as much part of ABBA's success as Benny and Bjorn [and Frida included].

  • It was a good interview. She is the kind of person I would like to be. She is a Classy lady. We do have one thing is common. We both love Animals.

  • I think Agnetha is a strong women, and has won and took it all! When you feel sad Agnetha, type in Peggy Lee, Is That All There Is ! You have plenty of money! Hire a dozen body guards and travel every place you ever wanted to go!Have fun Fly while you are still young!

  • she vara vacker på 1980. Kul hör she"s voice now. Jag miss Agnetha. Förlåt Jag talar engelska och swedish. : ) Jag var inte bra om Sweden. Jag älskär Agnetha, och Jag vara ledsen, att she"s isnt Abba enymore. : ( She är lovely

  • Hon är helskön.

The poet Dan Andersson died in bed when the staff in the hotel where he stayed fumigated the rooms. He was only in his thirties.

  • An absolutely charming person. Beautiful in her looks, beautiful in her - sometimes tormented, but always brave - heart. This interview is so intense and touching - and so is her singing (back then and now)! Stay the way you are, Mrs. Faltskog! Sweden should be thankful for having you, but I (an EU man) am thankful, too. It is good to wake up in the morning and think that there exist people as beautiful as you. Merry Chistmas 2008!

  • Reading, singing, amazing ... a true mother, gracefully and respectfully

    Thank you Agnetha

    and Merry Christmas 2008

  • This man is a fantastic interviewer. I don't think anyone else could have drawn her out more than he did. What a great interview.

  • no doubt abt it, he is such a shrewd person. got it all frm her :)

  • If you want something to see after this interview, check out a song she made the same year... Do a search on you tube for PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.. it probably appears on the list of related videos to the right.

Listening to the song is almost like hearing more truth than in this interview, you'll see what i mean

  • So intelligent,charming...very nice! She doesn't feel like a star ( although she is the biggest star in the world ). She's actually so humain! I wish you all the best Agnetha!!!

    P.S.

I think after she read that New Year's poem she was gonna start crying! DO you think so too? I really think this divorce with Bjorn and the other things really make her sad and these poems and holidays really make her sad. What do you all think about this?

  • She's a wonderful person.

    I love her!

  • I have no idea why I think this...but I sometimes think that Agnetha is quite the most beautiful woman ive ever seen...even today, there's just something about her...something as unique as I can imagine...she's seen so much, but she's so, so real..beautiful.

  • Thx a lot for posting. This was very interesting and enjoyable.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! Very interesting to hear her talk about all these things, even if she did shy away from certain subjects. She comes across as a charming, intelligent woman who is probably a bit hard on herself sometimes. As for her anxieties: how many stars have fled in drinking, drugs and self-destruction (Robbie Williams, Dave Gahan, Liza Minelli, Britney, Boy George etc. etc). Let's be thankful Agnetha has chosen a quiet life on her own terms. Good luck to her, I say.

  • Intense. That interviewer was just on the edge of being too pushy.

She's right, "winner takes it all" is their best song.

  • hi i'm italian and i watched this interview only now. I only want to tell only thing to all swedens: you are lucky. you have a queen.she is a real...dancing queen.

  • thanks, we know :)

  • Thanks Agnetha for recording this interview. It is a good interview that I think will succeed at helping many of your fans understand just how stressful success can be. Meanwhile thank you for sharing your talent with the world. You have brought tremendous joy to my life especially during your years with ABBA. I truly hope you can find peace, happiness and even joy. you surely deserve it. All my love to you.

  • Carefully said by a very gracious lady.

  • Thank you for posting this four part interview. Very meaningful and insightful. Agentha is wonderful. Such class !!!

  • Ja, han är en bra journalist.

  • She sounded solid and strong in most of her responses to this interview. I like how she decided to keep her personal side/life intacked and seem very honest and down to earth person.Of course, loved the ABBA years of great songs and still do. I know there countless reasons why couple divorce themselves but, sometimes, I just don't understand why they allow it to happen between them. Oh well...I think I'm going to buy her new cd. You're great Agnetha!!& great years. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • She's great!

    Lars

    Motor 76

  • She doesn't have to.

  • So true. The media just want to pressure her all the time, she gave the world her all during the Abba years, she deserves to just enjoy her own life now out of the spotlight if that's what she wants. Good for her.

  • she's so cute and real. really like her

  • She is a lovely person. I wish her nothing but peace and happiness. Thank you for sharing your beautiful voice Agnetha!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this interview. I haven't seen any ABBA interviews before as for I'm not a big fan but I'm really impressed on how down to earth Agnetha is. Right now I just want to listen to that cd she released in 2004.

  • Agnetha is just incredible! and she is a classy strong lady! God bless her always;) Her voice was really unique

  • and I must say that her voice IS still unique and great, I forget to put that in the last comment

  • What a wonderful and revealing insight into a very private person.Thank you so much for taking the time to upload it all.

  • thanks so much for uploading this fantastic interview:D

  • Her depression is evident in the films from the "super trouper" era, she looks so sad. But I didn't know she had anxiety, too. It's no wonder she couldn't continue. I wonder if anyone tried to help her?

  • wow - she really is an incredible woman - i now fully understand her reasons for not getting back together again - i found her honesty about many things really inspiring - not the sad mad recluse the media has tried to portray her as. i have the utmost respect for her - thanks for the joy she has bought to many and as a result the sacrafices she has made on her own happiness. incredible!!

  • The most beautiful female pop star ever - personality and looks (im 32)

    I would marry her tomorrow!

  • this woman is not only beautiful and talented ... she is also smart !!!!!

    A real Star !!!

  • What a wonderful lady, thank you for all that you gave to Abba

  • bless her! shes so sweet! i want her as my mum!!!! lool

  • She looks so much like she did in the winner takes it all video she looks amazingly youthful for a lady approaching 60 so beautiful still x.

  • Wow -- Agnetha is a grandmother! One can't watch this interview and forget that she poured out so much of herself into ABBA and made so many people happy, all apparently at great cost to her own happiness. I wish the collective love for her of ABBA fans could fill the dark spaces of her heart.

  • This interview was like a window to her soul. It seems to me that she is unhappy. When asked if she was happy, she stated she was happy WITH things. I give great credit to the interviewer for not following up with the "Are you happy with yourself" question. He respected the limits she obviously placed.

Great lady. Showed true class---never did she dump on her former husband/fellow group members.
