How can Sony or anyone block someone from making a recording of a tune? They can't even do it to a copyrighted tune, if the recording artist pays the proper (very small!) statutory fee. This tune, however, being first published in 1917, is completely in the public domain now, so is free from fees of any sort. I think Salt7iel is talking through his hat.
I went to see Alberta Hunter at the Cookery in New York City when she was in her 80's and she was cookin'! She was re-discovered after having been a nurse for many years. fabulous singer and wonderful human being. thanks for this video.
I want to be able to sing with this much chutzpah when I'm 78. great. when humphrey littleton was about the same age he described himself as 'inching into early middle age'. The look on her face says the same thing
Sony and INgrooves has blocked some of the other artists doing the Darktown Strutters' Ball. I recommend we stop doing buisness with Sony and INgrooves.
I never hear about Alberta Hunter fans of her forgive me ! I know the song from al jolson And my man Dean martin listen to Dean i clicked Alberta. fans this amazing love it!!!!!1 more love it wowwwwwwww thanks internet greetings from netherlands jan
@BearHeart13 - how I envy YOU ! ! ! She led the most amazing life, Getting a nursing degree late in life with only a 6th grade education. She had lied about her age and when the hospital retired her at their 'mandatory' age, she was 82 ! ! !
Thence began her 2nd sensational singing career.
She's my newest playlist - my 500 playlists showcase 350+ great artists from around the world and 111 lists play you the sounds of any given year since 1900. Step back into the past with a few mouse clicks!
