this is great, i think as time goes by people are really losing all appreciation for the 8-bit era, as games go into a rather dumb commercialised state where just about every came is a copy of another 'smash hit'.
The creative level to make a chiptune back in the day far surpassed anything made for games in this age.
I also remixed the C64 version of this theme id appreciate if some peeps could check it out on my channel.
@1ucasvb groovy, i notice you have a lot of retro music on your profile...
this wins the internets. Big, and i mean huge fan of retro gaming here. :) (by retro im talking the old era PC's ((commodore/atari/amiga/amstrad/Spectrum) :)
@theprophetstryder It's mostly Atari, from this chiptune visualization series I have here. I absolutely love the sound of the POKEY chip, and I see little appreciation for Atari music on YouTube and everywhere else (C64 gets all the love). So I decided to post some of the gems. :)
@1ucasvb good call, personally i think the C64 SID chip is a bit haphazard, i prefer the clean sound of the YM chip that was introduced into the Amstrad CPC range or the sinclair spectrum. I havent heard much about the POKEY chip but from what i do hear i'm definatley liking it.
@theprophetstryder C64 sounds "dirty" most time to me. The POKEY and the YM series (I love the 2612) always sounded cleaner and deeper to me (if that makes any sense). I think the sound is much superior. Too bad it's so under appreciated.
Look up the Atari SAP Music Archive on Google. It has TONS of great music. Also, search for Grayscale Project, they have one of the BEST stuff for the Atari out there.
Really good with the green graphics!
