@Witsarunemitea no ff is gonna be able to contend with the plot and characters of VII. So dont judge the game as if it says final fantasy VII on the cover, just play it for what it is and judge it as a seperate game with similair themes from final fantasy. For example if you read and have a favorite author you dont judge all thebooks based off of one. You like the author for their style of writing and judge each book on its own.

I'd give FFVIII a 3.5/5 overall. The story is just an elongated version of saving the world (and Sereh) from mass destruction. The girls were Cutesy, but I'm pretty sure WE ARE NOT THAT LONELY FFS! Anyways, I will agree on the music being great. FFX and FF7 are my favorites still :D
