  • MarloweD The funky King.

  • I want learn Bass too but my mum don't cares what i want^^

  • @FDGodAVA Then you need to get your hands on one, and pay MarloweDK:s site playbassnow a visit! I'd suggest a second-hand one, so you can get a better bass of less money, and probably even one that, should it happen that you either lose your interest in playing or eventually decide to upgrade your gear, you should be able to sell for roughly the sum you paid for it.

  • @FDGodAVA - Save up $100 and go on Craigslist and buy your own Bass guitar... make sure you get one that plays well and is not busted up or the neck is bent (ASK the seller if you have the bass checked out at your local music shop). Then if you don't have money for lessons, just watch youtube lessons.

  • Just a question. Where do you get your drum beats? thanks.

  • its so cool thanks for the lesson i broke the code in this riff really slow. thank you this is really hard to get in youre hands :D

  • yhat is awesome !

  • DOPE

  • the "5" people that disliked this video have no clue. only a handful of people can pull this groove off. it's two basslines being played at the same time. marlowe and jamerson could d o it, that's about it.

  • wow! that is awesome!. much respect and talent! so cool this groove. is this what is meant by "cut timing"? this is one of the coolest grooves i've seen.

  • This oldie JB is so f****** awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • the beginning reminded me of Billie Jean by Micheal Jackson. one of my favorite songs to play on bass.

  • @47darkhorse no where close but okay.

  • ha, tricky shit!!

  • Nice Marlowe! This is just totally great!

  • Fantastisk bra! Jeg kjøpte en ny Fender Jazz i dag, 99 modell. Skal øve inn denne grooven på den nå. :) Ha en strålende sommerdag.

  • Wow, it's not easy to play this =D

I love your videos, keep it up!:)

  • Hey marlowe I just got my first Bass! Where to start though? I've never really had a musical background or anything, so should I learn to read music first?

  • @punjabmc101 I'm just interested. How's your bass playing going? :)

  • so simple and so funky! thanks

  • sickest bass line. Took me about 5 minutes to learn! Crazy stuff!

  • tried to learn this. its pretty much impossible to do both tunes at once. wtf!

  • Realy like that pure funky style, BRAVO ...

  • that's so cool. all your videos are awesome, keep it up.

  • cool

  • what?!... jeez thats insanly great lick :D looks pretty hard to play and get down to learn

  • far out, chill dude =P

  • Thats wild. Good job, man.

  • my fingers are too short! lol

  • get off The bass then unfortunateley

  • I play just fine with my short fingers. I wouldn't play any other instrument, however banjo is the instrument I learned to play.

  • that is a very nice bass, i take it, it must be a fender jazz fretless cuz that sound is smooth

  • close, its a '63 fretted jazz. if i hadnt seen so many of his other videos i would have thought it was fretless too :P

  • I wish that bass...would....come back once more...

  • thx, fun indeed... though I didn´t think it was so hard :-)

  • Man way cool. That could be used in all kinds of places.Thanx

  • I found it sounded better with the E and A string tuned down a full step, as to creat an octave with the first chord. Any one else

  • hey, which song is this from?

  • has any one else manged to figure this out cos it took ages for me

  • to o04String:

Took me a while too, its a bit like juggling i presume;-)

  • @MarloweDK

Hey man! I'm sitting here 01:00 in the evening trying to figure this bassline out and i got it! Took me half an hour to get this groove right! very cool! Can you upload more of these things ?

  • @o04String0o its pretty easy when you break it down thinking of it more as chords than to lines. its like a funky slap riff just finger plucked instead. very very cool riff

  • @o04String0o took me 20 minutes. not even bragging.

  • That's pretty cool!

    How long you ben playing?

  • You're gay

  • just plain stupid

  • what bass is that?

  • I know what i will try to do all next week,or month....haha.I never know wich hand to look at.

  • Brilliant!

  • Yes.

  • yeh, i guess so. keep the vids coming then!

  • Time is on your side then...

  • @JxLjXl

dude now you're 19 years old. how's your progress? I'ts kinda interesting to look back and see how much one has improved (I'm 19 years as well, and play bass for 7 or 8 years now xD)

  • very nice. this is one of a few of yours that i've learnt. your P sounds sooo good, and your J's sound super sweet too

  • One of af FEW! Have'nt you learned them ALL? ;-)

  • Cool, now I can try to imitate your style on this neat little piece ... consider me a new student!!

  • No need for that , YOU have a great style, thekind of rock playing i would like to do

  • Nice demonstration ... are you using the "palm muting" technique with your right hand (edge of hand resting on bridge area) to get that deadened thudlike sound with the low strings? Saw that in another video on YouTube recently for a reggae bass tone ... anyway, good lesson! :)

  • Yes I am

  • Still my favorite teacher on the net! Thanks
