  • Ouch... don't be so mean!

  • Play that shit!

  • thats exacly like me, just sat in my garage playing some random riffs and loving ever second!! great work!

  • WOW I think I just messed myself!!!!

  • :-o

  • Oh my god!!!

And you selling it on ebay?

    Your are crazy!

I love this sound, it satisfies me!

  • Def make some more vids man, you are awesome

  • what drawbar setting were you using at the beginning? thanks!

  • @sillyputtee I suppose FULL: almost all drawbars on 8

  • yeahhhhhhhhh

  • Greatest... !

  • That was some violent sound!

  • i love you

  • I just gotta have more cowbell!!

p.s; Never argue, with bruce Dickinson..

  • I got a fever....

and the only prescription is more Hammond!!!!

  • hammond best instrument ever

  • awesome, you got us groovin here in the cayman islands.

  • and you look sorta like John Medeski too... lol

  • ohhh thats true, but has some jon lord in his playin

  • wow. sweet

  • Ironic, you share (I'm presuming) the same initials as famed B-3 groovester Joey Defrancesco. Dare I say, your artistry may top his.

  • Tight.

  • my god :D :D

    good job..you shouldn't sell it!

  • very nice!!!

  • Great job. Shame that you're selling the Hammond, though.

  • Loving the sound at 0:12 - what a beast!!

  • Hey man ... a nice example of the B3 range. any follow-ups?

    Cheers, Frazzo.

  • Hi Frazzo....I've had loads ofrequests to do some more vids, but I have so little spare time on my hands, when I'm not touring or recording I'm spending time with my family....will promise to do something in the new year now I have a bit of a break.....maybe some clavinet and wurlitzer as well!! Cheers J.D

  • geil das rockt my best...

  • 44,000 and counting,

I would gladly buy an album consisting of nothing but your rifting, - please make one, !!

  • Touch me!

  • My favourite hammond clip

  • wow!!

    very nice man!!

    see my videos!!

    saludos!!

  • Awesome organ, awesome chops.

  • It's cool!

    Post more!

  • you rock!

  • your AWESOME. Please post more.

  • Is that a clavinet on top of the organ? Great chops by the way. I'd check out your act for sure.

  • thanks...yes, it is a pretty rare Hohner Clavinet D6 transition model. To be honest I am just messing about on this clip and it was thrown together off the cuff just to sell the organ! If I'd have known that it would be watched by about 30,000 people and receive so many comments then I would have had a shave and got changed out of my gardening clothes!!!

  • haha, that's funny. Make sure you put up a vid of some slammin' clav. I just bought a Hammond C2(Trek percussion, smooth drawbars, trek output)/Leslie 147 and am looking for a clav or a Wurlitzer piano like I used to own. Gosh, I'm going out and rebuying all the cool keyboards i used to own. Played but never owned a D6 tho.

  • @jdhammond

none of that matters, this is still one of the best Hammond videos i've ever seen.. For me, you sir are on the same level as Leon Kuijpers' shredding. :) thank you

  • too bad you sold it. it's great.

awesome organ, but man, I want to play like that! You should post some tutorial videos!!!

  • i see this video is pretty old, but for what it's worth, it made my day, made my week! that playing just moves me.

  • Al'right!! Yes!! He is getting it!!

  • magic sound!!!!!!!!

  • Are there by chance, any hammond T582 clubs?

  • This guy ROCKS!!!!

  • Hey i was just wondering how much this organ sold for?

  • about 500 quid with the Leslie.

  • Bargain for whoever got it.

  • Do u know how much that would be in australian dollars?

  • bout 1300 bucks australian... thats an amaaaaaazing deal for the buyer. you got cut way short man. theyre going for about 6k australian here

  • wow,,thats the same Model Hammond I taught my self on,,,,,I still like its sound better than a B3, and the keys are as heavy,,this organ requires a softer touch,,like an electronic keyboard...this guys has soul,, can work on his timing a little, but he sounds good ;-)

  • magic. just pure gold

  • Blacks and whites have hardly any differences in hammond touching. It's just black put more soul into it, and whites are more technical. I like this guy though, I'm inspired

  • the leslie is running too damn fast

  • JD, this is so cool!

    Barry,

    London

  • man whyd you wanna sell that beast?

  • GUAUUUUUUUU!!!

  • Very good tight wish you could have filmed your self close so we could see your fingering and drawbar setting!

  • awesome! i just bought an x77 at auction for $75. after oiling up the dry tone generator, it now has alot of humming. any remedies? how much did you get for yours? what are you playing now that the x77 is gone?

  • Hello, if it is humming, that is usually a mains problem, maybe the transformer or a bad earth.

BTW I got $1000 for the X77 and am currently playing a 1964 C3 (see other vids),

  • Good Stuff!

  • GROOVY MAN!!! By the way, what registrations did you use here?

  • There are a few, a lot is all drawbars fully out, sometimes I punch a few out of the middle and bring them back in...and of course the classic Jazz setting 888000000 with 3rd harmonic percussion... (for the classic 'Groove Holmes' sound pull out the 1' drawbar as well for a bit of whistle!~

  • Damn, that definitely made my day. Thanks!

  • Nice, great, grat. :-)

  • Jimmy Smith strikes again!

  • Absolutely fantastic!

  • This organ player's sound is drippin with fatback, and barbecue sauce! Soul on top of soul. Thanks for the clip.

  • woooah majorly sweet.

  • Hi JD,

absolute fantastic stuff. Have never heard a more funkier hammond player! Any chance to see SSP in germany then?

  • Hi....we weould love to come over Germany, but have never been invited...I don't know of any promoters or venues either...J.D

  • so good to see/hear, the hammond that you master so well is the heart of any great sound. top man!

  • Very, very good!

  • Best Hammond Riffing I've seen so far!

  • Dude, you a beast on the organ. Ridiculous skills. How long does it take to get skills like that?

  • Thanks man....if you want to check out my hammond band (stoned soul picnic) we are on hammondbeat.com.

There is a discography, reviews and free downloads.

  • awesome you beast.. got your cigars

  • cool.....look forward to catching up with you soon.

    J.D

  • you rock, the x77 is so under rated. it can stand toe to toe with the b3 and blast away. the percussion is awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I was surprised by how good it sounded having never heard one before....the only reason I sold it was to finance a C3 !!

The X77 is less than a quarter of the price though, and it has a really groovy arpeggiator on it too.

  • man u play like a black man lol. Do u play gospel too?

  • Well, whites can also organ! AND basketball, rapping and other things...

  • RESPECT that all kinds of people can do things.

  • LOl man I wasnt saying that whites cant play the organ. I mean duh they invented the hammond organ. Dont get upset man. You are taking the comment too serious. Chill out! I was merely complementing you on your skills!

  • Well, I'm sorry...(feeling blue and yellow)

  • What a sound! I just love Hammond organ ... you rock, man!

  • SWEET!
