I Just Wanna Say Thank You KISS for giving me The Best Teenage Memories in an Era that will never be topped by any generation to come the 70's had the best groups and times ever !!!
I never really liked Kiss untill I heard this song for the first time going thrgough You Tube videos of MTV's unplugged. This song is awsome, I have been hooked on Kiss ever since, I can't get enough of them, I started by listening to all the Peter Criss songs, he is by far the most interesting voice in Kiss. Too bad Peter left to chase after a models ass and Ace pissed Gene off by shouting out Anti-Semetic slurs. They still blowed away all other rock bands of the time.
I was a teen in the 70s my baby brother loved this group used to go around acting like them lol standing on the bed pretending to play the guitar I'm from Nashville so we grew up on good music
the 70s from what i was toled were great not to menchin the cars. i'm only 15 but when kiss comes to town i rock and roll all night and party every day!
What I don't get is, if Paul Stanley wrote it, why'd Peter Criss sing lead on it? IDK. Kiss hit #15 in Billboard, 2-26-77. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!
@CLUBMETALYELL Amen brother I don't know why my post sez "face" B'cause when I got the heads up of B'ing corrected, I thought U were sayin "It's face and Not eyes!!" Lol This really trips me out either I was dumbfounded this day, or someone else was controlling my body and put face Nsted of eyes. Lol I am N good company when people know WU (what's Up) Lol Godspeed 2U heavy metal rockers!!
Rock and Roll Over's best song by far, even considering the whole album rocks! Actually, "Hard Luck Woman" is the most beautiful song KISS ever did, along with Beth, See You Tonite, and Forever. KISS are the coolest band ever!
@ElCid2004 Underrated? dude were not in begin 70's! Kiss IS the most populair band in the world, Classic Rock fans listen to kiss, And also. since sonic boom, A LOT of younger people listen to them too. so their not underrated =D KISS = Forever
@JeremyRitaCody The song was indeed written for Rod Stewart. When he declined, Stanley handed it to Criss to sing as he had a raspy, Stewart-esque voice. On that note, I venture to say that Criss had the best voice in KISS.
@spaceace127 I knew that Paul was trying to emulate ( i need spell check HA) Rod Stewart when he wrote this gem of a song so I guess it does make sense that he would allow Peter to sing it. I love that about this band - they all get a chance to be the front man.
@Doromar80 .. the '70's were great for music; bad for people's attitudes..... the eightie's??? depends where U lived because MTV crowded out any real hard rockin' bands...........Peace/Love/Music.
@gsid64 - Dig that gsid64 - saw them in 77 at the ripe old age of 13 - my dad used to bust my ass about their music but I used to say " But Dad, Gene's a doctor!"
Saw them live in 1977 at the age of 13 - to this day, I still remember the show - KISS lives! Hard Luck Woman is a gospel - it is a love song that we all can relate to - to all the KISS fans out there - no matter what age - KISS is real and their ROCK lives on....
Snuck out and saw them in 1977 at the sweet age of 13 - got grounded for a month but it was worth it - Gene spit blood and fire - amazing performance - Peter passed out on stage and after a short break, came out and sat on the edge of the stage and sang Beth - I still can remember it today...
@Beebop666 yeah they do! lol. heck, they are slowing down a wee bit but the enthusiasm is still there and always will be. enjoy it... finest, most entertaining and hardworking live band on the planet.
Snuck out of my house at 13 and saw them in 1977 - got grounded for a month - it was totally worth it - their lyrics while sounding somewhat juvenile at times, still resonates with the angst that we all felt as young teens in love - KISS remains a legendary franchise...
@naderchaser - I never really found out - but when he came back out, he sat on the edge of the stage with a single spot light on him and started to sing Beth - truly a magical moment...
Not a Kiss fan but I have loved this song since I was like 8 years old, I'm 29 and I still love it I have to hear it atleast once a week or life just aint the same.
@ekimballz - Yeah me too, i've never been a fan of Kiss' music but i always find myself coming back to this song. I played this song for my girlfriend and after hearing it she said 'this is our song'. Ahh the memories.....

I just saw KISS in Lauderdale - Oct 2009 - awesom show !! ( shame Mr Criss or Mr Freheley wasn't there - I grew up with KISS since I was 7 - I am now 39....ish
Destroyer was my first album back in '76, I'm 46(ish), but I didn't get to see them live until the Dynasty tour in '79(my first concert ever). I was a card carrying member of the KISS Army back then. Dressing guys up as Peter and Ace - yes it is not right, but as their custumes is of 70's era in their Alive 35 tour - it is a " just so you remember the good ole days - and I did enjoy seeing KISS how I remember them. 29 years I have wished to see KISS again - and I am now a happy guy.
I think the newer tours are definately good for those that didn't get to see the original line up or the reunion tour 10+ years ago so they can see KISS with the costumes and all. They put on great shows in the 80's too, but I always wished I could have seen the original Destroyer or Love Gun tours. I wore out copies of Alive I and Alive II listening to them over and over. I'm a drummer, so I spent many hours playing along as best I could. It's cool to see old vids on here from before MTV too.
How did you get to monetize this video with ads? Didn't YouTube/Google hassle you over copyrights to that song and that album cover image? I'm not asking to break stones....I'm just trying to figure this whole thing out...
If Paul Stanley originaly wrote this song for Rod Stewart as Elliotdm claims, I'm sure Rod Stewart would have made it sound just as good because it really fitted his style of music.
I Just Wanna Say Thank You KISS for giving me The Best Teenage Memories in an Era that will never be topped by any generation to come the 70's had the best groups and times ever !!!

How did you get to monetize this video with ads? Didn't YouTube/Google hassle you over copyrights to that song and that album cover image? I'm not asking to break stones....I'm just trying to figure this whole thing out...

It's youtube's video ads, not the video owners. Google's just making money from him, and us :-)

No, it does. But I like it; at one time I had this damn song stuck in my head, and it drove me crazy.

@VerzGP thats funny you mention that. the song was written for rod steward to sing, and they kept it for peter to sing.

Me like hard luck women...there's lots of 'em out there and I kiss 'em all and and make 'em cry.

If Paul Stanley originaly wrote this song for Rod Stewart as Elliotdm claims, I'm sure Rod Stewart would have made it sound just as good because it really fitted his style of music.
