  • Just Beautifu.l thanks for posting!

  • I never really liked Kiss untill I heard this song for the first time going thrgough You Tube videos of MTV's unplugged. This song is awsome, I have been hooked on Kiss ever since, I can't get enough of them, I started by listening to all the Peter Criss songs, he is by far the most interesting voice in Kiss. Too bad Peter left to chase after a models ass and Ace pissed Gene off by shouting out Anti-Semetic slurs. They still blowed away all other rock bands of the time.

  • es lo mejor kissssssssssssssssssssss arriba

  • I was a teen in the 70s my baby brother loved this group used to go around acting like them lol standing on the bed pretending to play the guitar I'm from Nashville so we grew up on good music

  • Imma hard luck woman / babygirl till i find my real match man ;)

  • Although this version is original I personally prefer Pretty Maids performance.

  • @ledzeppelinIVevr No, actually it wasnt, asshole. Did i say "thumbs up if..."

No, i didnt. You didn't have to be a dick.

  • Paul wrote this song for rod stewart. Not to dis stewart but im so glad they kept it for themselves.

  • D: when i want to the kiss concert last month in evrett i was mad that the real peter criss and ace weren't there =_= still ROCK ONNNNNNN

  • Is this Peter Criss or Rod Stewart?

  • @WKKP1023 It is Peter Criss

  • this.is.so.epic.

  • classic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nobody can replace peter Criss, The Cat. Gene did one of his biggest mistakes when he fired him. Nowadays Kiss has only two original members.

  • @lizbrennerurrutia Ya're right, NOBODY can replace The Cat ;)

  • My question is did Rod Stewart release it after Charlie Criss sang 'Hard Luck Woman' first?

  • What I don't get is, if Paul Stanley wrote it, why'd Peter Criss sing lead on it? IDK. Kiss hit #15 in Billboard, 2-26-77. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • KISS のキャッチャーなポップなナンバー、♫ハード・ラック・ウーマン♫~~一緒に口ずさめるナイス曲だったネ!

  • great song

  • I love this song <3

  • you are 1 lucky person

  • if never for the first hello we'll never have to say goodbye you hard luck woman

  • It was written by Paul for Rod, but Paul liked it to much, so gave it to Peter to sing

  • Peter Criss does wonderfully singing this song. He's a natural.

  • KISS“ HARD LUCK WOMAN”~~GOOD ! WONDERFUL!

  • Saw them in portland nov 09, awesome show, I hope I get to see them play again too.

  • Comment removed

  • Aparently Paul Stanley offered this song to Rod Stewart to sing, but he wasn't interested so KISS decided they would do it themselves.

  • B4 I go let me kiss U: and wipe the tears from your face...

  • @CLUBMETALYELL its eyes not face

  • @CLUBMETALYELL Amen brother I don't know why my post sez "face" B'cause when I got the heads up of B'ing corrected, I thought U were sayin "It's face and Not eyes!!" Lol This really trips me out either I was dumbfounded this day, or someone else was controlling my body and put face Nsted of eyes. Lol I am N good company when people know WU (what's Up) Lol Godspeed 2U heavy metal rockers!!

  • @Worlock1989 fuck you

  • @Worlock1989 you stupid dumbass Rod Stewart never even had this song on any of his albums

  • @trashman654 This does sound like a song Rod Stewart would have covered though.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan This song was intended for Rod , but he turned it down.

  • @trashman654 my bad one of my friends wrote that fuck you thing back there, the suggesstion that Paul wrote the song for Rod makes sense.

  • One of my favorite KISS song's. This song fits Peter Perfectly. Too bad KISS didn't play it that much live.

  • Great tune. Peter sings some great ones. Beth and Getaway are two more gems.

  • Paul Stanley wrote this song.

  • Rock and Roll Over's best song by far, even considering the whole album rocks! Actually, "Hard Luck Woman" is the most beautiful song KISS ever did, along with Beth, See You Tonite, and Forever. KISS are the coolest band ever!

  • so the girl's (nick)name is rags??

  • @bigjtoday how bout red?

  • @bigjtoday he said "youre rare" not rags or red...

  • @MrSmellybutt ..no, he is saying "rags"....it was a nickname of one of their girlfriends...so there.

  • 0:00/3:37 is my favourite.

  • this and beth are the only kiss songs worth listening to

  • @tmtmoormr Yeah... then again maybe you just don't get it.

  • @tmtmoormr black diamond, detroit rock city, love gun, strutter? the list goes on man where u been the past 40 years?

  • i like singing this at kareoke.

  • It's songs like this that will keep me in the KISS Army for life.

  • You sholud put lyrics in description ! ;)

  • I love this song lol

  • i just love this !!!great song !!

  • Pal Stanley says, "hello people!"

  • peter criss still rules i love this song when he sings it .

  • sounds really good = )

  • Super song by an underrated band!

  • @ElCid2004 Underrated? dude were not in begin 70's! Kiss IS the most populair band in the world, Classic Rock fans listen to kiss, And also. since sonic boom, A LOT of younger people listen to them too. so their not underrated =D KISS = Forever

  • Great song for Peter Criss to sing... Thanks for posting!

  • Still the BEST!!!

  • Great song. Classic!

  • esta es la buena musica yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • LOS S DISCOOS DE ACE FRELEEY

  • and their not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?...it's an outrage...If they ever get nominated in they should say No Thanks.

  • kiss is the best band ever

  • This song was not written for Rod Stewart. Paul Stanley wrote it to prove that he could write a song that sounded like all of Rod Stewarts songs.

  • @JeremyRitaCody The song was indeed written for Rod Stewart. When he declined, Stanley handed it to Criss to sing as he had a raspy, Stewart-esque voice. On that note, I venture to say that Criss had the best voice in KISS.

  • @spaceace127 Totally true and I agree with you about Peter's voice.

  • @cudaj2 Thank you!

  • @spaceace127 I dont know about that but good song.

  • @spaceace127 I knew that Paul was trying to emulate ( i need spell check HA) Rod Stewart when he wrote this gem of a song so I guess it does make sense that he would allow Peter to sing it. I love that about this band - they all get a chance to be the front man.

  • @spaceace127 Dude! 'preciate th honesty. Bold statement, considerin Stanley's no slouch. cool, and i tend to agree-way overlooked, Criss was

  • God i wish i was alive in the 70s-80s :*(

  • @Doromar80 .. the '70's were great for music; bad for people's attitudes..... the eightie's??? depends where U lived because MTV crowded out any real hard rockin' bands...........Peace/Love/Music.

  • @sexypsuedonym The 70s were bad for people's attitudes?? Ummm, how?

  • ....... P.S., this song IS a gem.

  • @Doromar80

Good lord, you make me feel old. (You didn't miss anything). Trade ya?

  • @Doromar80

The 80s were fantastic. Spandex was sweet, but Kiss released a bunch of horseshite - check out "Lick it Up" for proof.

  • @falang78

But this song is still gold and a child of the 70s.

  • @gsid64 - Dig that gsid64 - saw them in 77 at the ripe old age of 13 - my dad used to bust my ass about their music but I used to say " But Dad, Gene's a doctor!"

  • They dont play this in Sonic Boom Tour :( but if eric singer sing's it, it's not so awesome than peter criss sings :)

  • This song is very similar to Rod Stewart´s hit "Maggie May"(1972).But it´s one of the greatest songs by KISS!

  • @cfmagal I think I remember that this song was actually written for Rod Stewart?

  • @cfmagal i was just thinking that lol

  • @cfmagal yeah, it does. Rod Stewart was originally handed this song, but he declined, so KISS took the song and made it a hit

  • first luv begins wit hi..n ..hello ,goodbye ....sorry end tats wat hard luck luvers ain't meaning at all......bye...!?..

  • in my opinion, this is gene's (although paul reputes to play it) best bass line.

  • @therickshow1 I 100% agree with you, good bassline.

  • Not a huge Kiss fan....I like some songs....but this song stands above all the others as the greatest.....a wonderful tune

  • Just wish I could call Liz Longo now

  • this song is my favorite from them!! THEY ROCK!!!!

  • Saw them live in 1977 at the age of 13 - to this day, I still remember the show - KISS lives! Hard Luck Woman is a gospel - it is a love song that we all can relate to - to all the KISS fans out there - no matter what age - KISS is real and their ROCK lives on....

  • una de las mejores canciones de este monstruo....simplemente genial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My kids' father used to hate when I sang this. Moron.

  • @Jenne61265 Sounds like you were a hard luck woman. :)

  • This is the best. Fuck the covers. You ain't a hard luck woman!

  • Increible canción, de las mejores de una de las mejores bandas de la historia.

  • awesome song from one of the best bands around KISS

  • Don't care what anyone says, this is still my fave KISS tune.

  • @LeCutter no doubt. mine too;always has been.

  • Snuck out and saw them in 1977 at the sweet age of 13 - got grounded for a month but it was worth it - Gene spit blood and fire - amazing performance - Peter passed out on stage and after a short break, came out and sat on the edge of the stage and sang Beth - I still can remember it today...

  • @er6789er wow i wish i was there!

  • @er6789er hahah dude my father also didt it, when he was 15 he sneaked out to go to watch kiss and get grounded:P haha !

  • @er6789er probably one of the best and unforgettable moments of your life.. one of those times its well worth it

  • @er6789er sweet gonaa see them this year they prob dont have the same drive but ohwell.....

  • @Beebop666 yeah they do! lol. heck, they are slowing down a wee bit but the enthusiasm is still there and always will be. enjoy it... finest, most entertaining and hardworking live band on the planet.

  • One of the better songs I can Kareoke to... from a SHWEET band...

  • Wake up, Maggie, I think I have something to say to you

  • @RockOfAges94 Damn! Never heard the similarity 'til now.Dead on match!

  • @RockOfAges94 exactly what i thought, i've heard this song first, but i always found it very similar to another song, just couldn't find it.

  • la cancion de kiss que mas me gusta!

  • What a way to my heart. The Real OH

  • MAKES ME FEEL UP AND UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good song right here, sung by the catman himself,Peter Criss.

  • simplesmente amo !

  • Peter Chriss has an awsome voice!!!!!!!

  • Amazing song!!, whats not to like about it!

  • Amazing Song!, whats not to like? lol

  • Peter Chriss ( The Cat ) was excellent.

  • hah almost maggle may soun to it eh? good call.

  • Snuck out of my house at 13 and saw them in 1977 - got grounded for a month - it was totally worth it - their lyrics while sounding somewhat juvenile at times, still resonates with the angst that we all felt as young teens in love - KISS remains a legendary franchise...

  • @er6789er Why did Peter pass out ?

  • @naderchaser - I never really found out - but when he came back out, he sat on the edge of the stage with a single spot light on him and started to sing Beth - truly a magical moment...

  • @naderchaser Come on, do you really have to ask that question? Why do you think he passed out? Just take an educated guess! LOL

  • mujer de mala suerte yo te amo no te puedo olvidar ! in spanish ok?

  • Not a Kiss fan but I have loved this song since I was like 8 years old, I'm 29 and I still love it I have to hear it atleast once a week or life just aint the same.

  • Comment removed

  • KISS used to play a song VERY similar to HLW at their gigs at COVENTRY (all of 100 people fit in there) around the time Rod was hitting with Maggie May. Since KISS was never a cover band , I guess they just grabbed the "Stewart sound" slapped some NY in it. Peter had (has?) that RS rasp (not the RS pipes) so it was a cover tune of a "sound "(Maggie May being the most blatant) wonder what happenned to the Mandolin?

Had RS done it ... he wouldve gotten HELL for redoing his old repertoire.

  • great song by great band ;)

  • Sounds like a Rod Stewart song.

  • This son was originally written for Rod Stewart, by Paul Stanley.

  • is that true ?????

  • it was actually meant for rod but roddy turned it down, so..... peter chris said the hell with roddy ill sing it myself

  • the hell stewart turned it down. I'm ready the Behind the mask book, and Petere WANTED this song to do!

  • @WldChd07 fuck rod

  • Thats what I thought

  • LOL sorry to bust on you dude. I knew it was probably just a typo, but I couldn't resist being a smartass.

  • It's Okay - it didn't even click to me that I spelt his name wrong - it did take me 10 minutes to figure out what y.ou wrote

Thwn I laughed, and searched more KISS videos just to feel better.

I just saw KISS in Lauderdale - Oct 2009 - awesom show !! ( shame Mr Criss or Mr Freheley wasn't there - I grew up with KISS since I was 7 - I am now 39....ish

  • Destroyer was my first album back in '76, I'm 46(ish), but I didn't get to see them live until the Dynasty tour in '79(my first concert ever). I was a card carrying member of the KISS Army back then. Saw them a couple times in the 80's w/ Eric Carr, RIP, on the Lick It Up, Animalize and Crazy Nights tours. Would have liked to see Mark St. John back then, but that was when he had the wrist/hand problems. I'm sure they still put on quite a show, but I wish they wouldn't dress others as Pete & Ace

  • I saw the Dynasty Tour in Australia, Brisbane - 1980 - I was a little tacker then.

Dressing guys up as Peter and Ace - yes it is not right, but as their custumes is of 70's era in their Alive 35 tour - it is a " just so you remember the good ole days - and I did enjoy seeing KISS how I remember them. 29 years I have wished to see KISS again - and I am now a happy guy.

  • I think the newer tours are definately good for those that didn't get to see the original line up or the reunion tour 10+ years ago so they can see KISS with the costumes and all. They put on great shows in the 80's too, but I always wished I could have seen the original Destroyer or Love Gun tours. I wore out copies of Alive I and Alive II listening to them over and over. I'm a drummer, so I spent many hours playing along as best I could. It's cool to see old vids on here from before MTV too.

  • Peter Chris has the voice for this song - One of my all time fav KISS songs

  • Peter CRISS has a better voice for this song than Peter Chris does. ;)

  • Yeah - your rite - who is this Mr Chris guiy anyway

  • How did you get to monetize this video with ads? Didn't YouTube/Google hassle you over copyrights to that song and that album cover image? I'm not asking to break stones....I'm just trying to figure this whole thing out...

  • It's youtube's video ads, not the video owners. Google's just making money from him, and us :-)

  • Is it just me, or does this sound just like Rod Stewart?

  • yeah, it does kinda huh ?

    good call sir

  • No, it does. But I like it; at one time I had this damn song stuck in my head, and it drove me crazy.

  • @VerzGP thats funny you mention that. the song was written for rod steward to sing, and they kept it for peter to sing.

  • a woman with bad luck

  • Me like hard luck women...there's lots of 'em out there and I kiss 'em all and and make 'em cry.

  • If Paul Stanley originaly wrote this song for Rod Stewart as Elliotdm claims, I'm sure Rod Stewart would have made it sound just as good because it really fitted his style of music.
