And I agree with the poster who said they stuffed up every potential romance for Seven in VOY. I thought the Doctor worked best, but Kim would have been fun... or Janeway brave and groundbreaking... so we got Chocolate Day instead!?

She couldnt be her normal soft loving self because she needed to keep a strong face for her crew, especially so far from home! the entire 7/9 subplot showed 3 major potentially romantic relationships: harry kim (epic failed), the doctor (started well but lost momentum, ended up as just freinds) and janeway (started as mentor/student but developed into an obvious romantic attraction which didn't require the viewers to be gay/lesbian to spot it) right up to the last few episodes in the entire series when the producers, without any precedent or previous extended interaction shown, put 7 and chakotay together.

It should have been Seven. We aren't blind, TV execs have been deliberately planting subtext for many many years (although if I understand it right the first to openly admit it was Liz Friedman, a Xena producer).  Janeway had her best scenes with Seven, they had the most chemistry, they had the best dynamic and IMHO Janeway became a far more rounded and interesting character when she had a foil to bounce off rather than a subservient crew.

I kind of like J/C and I don't really like J/7, but I'm not really a shipper. I'm fine with the way things turned out in the series.

However, I think gay/lesbian TV programs have the same right to be aired as programs with heterosexual couples/relationships. You cannot deny that the audience is there.

MY views don't come from TV programs either, but I am not so narrow-minded as to rely on ANY religion to tell me how to live my life or that I will go to hell if I watch a lesbian romance movie
