I agree all of us are probably herd animals but think the degree varies considerably. I'd say introverts are more able to free themselves of this instinct, and some people are contrary, as suspicious of the popular as most are of the unpopular. Humanity usually has a buck each way.

I don't like Mark's writing style at all, very dull and he has no flair and I think that the central tenet of the book, that humans are essentially herd animals, is all that we need to draw from it.
